We have a golden retriever however she doesn't have access to the apartment.
Lisa was waiting for us at the door as we arrived. She walked us through the place and gave us all the details on the beautiful place and left us for the weekend with everything we needed. It was a great weekend and a nice place.
Lisa greeted us upon our arrival. She is warm, friendly and welcoming. The house is very well organized, decorated and stocked up. Very comfortable stay.
Lisa and Michael are great hosts. They make their best to make your stay perfect. We enjoyed it very much.
Was pleasantly surprised when I first showed up at the Retreat. My Mom and I found it to be very clean and welcoming. So much better than a majority of the hotels I've stayed at plus you get a nice kitchen area which came in very handy. The weather was gorgeous and it was relaxing seeing some of the animal life right outside the entry way. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone making a trip to Madison.
Beautiful place, great setting and close to everything. We were excited to see deer and turkeys on a morning run, and appreciated the host's flexibility when our arrival plans changed. Thanks for providing the comforts of home too with sunscreen, bug spray, etc available in the space. Really enjoyed our time.
We really enjoyed our stay. Lisa welcomed us warmly, and hospitality was the hallmark of the stay: a nice bottle of wine, lots of yogurt and oatmeal, an endless supply of coffee, fresh towels swapped in midway through our stay. The space itself was comfortable, incredibly spacious, and spotless. We especially liked sitting on the patio, watching the finches swarm the birdfeeder, and listen to the wind rustling the leaves. It was a peaceful retreat but an easy enough drive to Madison. There is a fantastic food market half a mile away
Michael & Lisa's place was perfect. Lisa was super gracious and welcoming and got us oriented and situated quickly. The Schusters go above and beyond as hosts providing drinks, wine, snack, sunscreen and bug spray—super thoughtful. They also accommodated our late check-in and check-out which was great. We fell asleep with the shutters open enjoying the night breeze and crickets and woke up to all sorts of sweet chirping birds. They're only about 4-5 miles from the Square, but the Schuster's place is a private, wooded getaway with all the nice amenities you want.
We've have lived on this beautiful property for over 12 years. Finding that it is a total get away and feels like a vacation everyday. Lisa works in education and Michael in real estate and construction management.
We love to travel, knowing how we like to be treated when on the road and hope to bring this experience to our retreat.
We also love the local Madison food scene. We tend to only eat in local establishments and there are tons of great options 5-10 minutes from our home.
It's our hope that the Drumlin Hill Retreat can be a place for you to relax and unwind.
We hope you get to see some wildlife while you are here too. It's a real nature and wildlife lover's retreat!!
