This place was perfect! Monkeys making noise and entertainment in the morning. Screens on the windows so you can stay cool even though it was 80 degrees F out. Basic kitchen items to make food and coffee. Beach and pool literally across the street. Jenny at the cafe was great and accommodating. It is a little drive to Montezuma but all great just to have absolute rest and relaxation in Cabuya. Cleanliness was perfect too!

If you're after a quiet break in Costa Rica, Cabuya and the Nicoya Peninsula are fantastic. The animal and birdlife is amazing and we enjoyed our walks on the quiet beach and out to the island. Laura's house is in a great location (you will need a car and make sure it's 4WD) but it's a little more rustic than the photos suggest and needs some maintenance at the moment. It is, however, perfectly comfortable and reasonably well equipped. Jenny at Cafe El Coyote, who is Laura's representative in Cabuya, is an absolute gem who will make your stay very special and help you with anything you need. Don't miss the nearby Cabo Blanco National Park. Do the walk to the beach. It takes time and energy (have plenty of water if it's humid) but it's well worth it. Leave early and walk quietly for the best chances of seeing animals and birds.

Laura's place is set at the dege of Cabuya exactly as described, quiet with a little local traffic going slowly. Laura was not there but she has a wonderful agent Jenny, who takes care of everything and is welcoming and delightful company. She also runs and cooks at her Cafe Coyote within a short walk, a treat not to be missed. She is full of infomation about the area. We had a great time and would only make small suggestions like a few hooks for our mosquito net in the upstairs bedroom [ we always travel with one though it was not a big problem] and maybe some glasses instead of the metal drinking vessels, although Jenny lent us some. Justacross the road was the Howler Monkey hotel, a quiet low key place right on the shore with a swimming pool which we were offered use of.We loved the jungle garden, the howler monkeys, the birds, the terrace space, the iguanas and the washing machine was really good too and there was lots of drying line!We would go there again, loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and waking to the calls of the monkeys. Thank you Laura you are very well organised and give clear accurate instructions and infomation, good luck for the future.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in mid-January as it was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the nature around. The property is completely secluded in a forest behind the rustic seaside properties in a very quiet area along a tiny road. It is fairly close to the Cabo Blanco Reserve (which is closed Mondays and Tuesdays by the way) about 7km from Montezuma. There is a rocky beach close by which is not really suited to swimming but nice for a quiet sundowner with only a few locals around. We loved the outdoor terrace and the hammocks were nice as well. We saw quite an impressive number of birds without even leaving the property (including Parrot, Motmot, Hawk, Trogon, Cuckoo, Woodpecker, Magpie-Jay, Heron, Vulture) and some animals as well. We especially enjoyed being greeted by a troop of Howler Monkeys the first evening who passed through the trees overhead. After having stayed in a lot of Cabinas and small hotels while travelling around Costa Rica, it was just what we were looking for. The spacious open kitchen was well-equipped and we certainly appreciated the washing machine and the very good wifi. The communication with Laura was excellent. We didn't meet Laura but her local contact nearby was most helpful for a smooth check-in/out any questions we had. Everything was as indicated in the listing. We would happily stay there again and recommend Laura's place to other travellers.

I am a hard working woman, since 1993 I live in Costa Rica. Have a daughter who was born in 1996. I run the weekly organic farmer's market in Escazú, San José and in the same town I also own a little organic Cafe called Buena Tierra.
I have this wonderful property in Cabuya de Cobano, really close to Cabo Blanco Absolute Reserve. It used to be my home during the first 5 years I spent in this Country. Then we moved to the metropolitan area, where we had better working opportunities and where we could give a better standard education to our daughter.
I wish all the people who will rent my house a wonderful holiday in the jungle!!!
