We had a wonderful week in London staying at The Brompton. The apartment had brand new carpet and a fresh paint job! It is very convenient to get to the Earls Court tube station, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. I highly recommend it!
It was a great place to stay. It was spacious, roomy, and the apartment contained a lot of things to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It is also at a fantastic location where everything was nice and close. I would definitely stay there again when we're back in London. Claudio and Luigi were wonderful hosts. Thanks to both of you.
Our family of 4 had a very enjoyable 7-night stay at the flat. The location is excellent, with good access to the Earls Court tube, local restaurants (Blackbird pub was very good, O'Neills pub just OK and Strada [chain] a good Italian restaurant), grocery stores and a Starbucks almost right out the front door. We had previously booked a budget hotel chain for the week, but decided at the last minute to try renting an apartment for the first time. Having 3 bedrooms, and a living and kitchen was definitely worth the modest extra expense, especially for those first few nights when everybody's sleep schedule was affected by the time difference.
The owners were excellent hosts, and were very responsive to text/SMS questions when we made our arrangements and after we arrived. We did have a problem with the furnace during our stay, but Luigi and Claudio were quick to first fix it themselves, and then call a technician when it happened a second time. It made for two cold mornings, but not really a big deal and quickly addressed.
The furnishings (carpet, furniture, bathroom) in the flat were fully functional, but a bit worn. The kitchen was more modern. There was a dishwasher and a washing machine, but we did not use them. The flat had reliable wi-fi, TV and DVD player, and a small DVD library of Region 2 DVDs.
As stated clearly in the write-up, there is no lift, and we learned to tolerate the 89 steps at the end of a long day of touring. This was really not a big deal except for hauling our luggage upstairs at the beginning and then downstairs at the end of our visit. The stairs certainly made us mindful to make sure we had everything we needed before we left the flat.
If we plan another visit to London, we would definitely consider staying at the Brompton, and we will recommend it to friends. The rental process through AirBNB was very straightforward, the owners were helpful and reliable, and the experience was very positive all around.
We had a very pleasant 10 day stay at The Brompton. As a family of four--two adults with two daughters aged 12 and 9--we found the flat to be spacious, comfortable and well situated as a home-base for exploring London. Our daughters appreciated having their own bedrooms and they felt at home immediately.
The hosts always corresponded with us promptly when we were enquiring about the flat, and we received clear instructions at every step. Arrival and departure was smooth and we had no problems during our stay, so no need to contact the hosts.
Transit is convenient (Earl's Court and Gloucester Tube Stations, as well as many city buses), and the local stores, especially the Marks & Spencer Simply Foods, are within easy walking distance.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to use The Brompton again for further visits to London.
The flat in Old Brompton Road served my family as a perfect base for our autumn holiday in London. Spacious and well equipped. The neighborhood is friendly and offers all we needed in terms of daily shopping, cafés, restaurants and means of public transport. We can recommend it highly!
Excellent location, Close to Earl's Court station and Close to all facilities in Kensington. We were a family of five (three teenagers) and spent five days in The Brompton while in London during a school break. The flat is well equipped, light and has a nice atmosphere. All three bedrooms are spacious. We really had a good time and can recommend this apartment to any family that consider the walk up to fifth floor a part of the daily exercise!
This place was ideally located. It was clean, however the furnishing was older, we did not find this a problem. I accidentally locked myself out and Luigi responded within an hour. Nice place, will stay again. As for the walk up, yes it was tiresome, but it was a great reason to be attentive before leaving and seeing as much of London in the day before returning. :)
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Luigi has a great apartment/flat on Old Brompton Road. It is relatively spacious having 3 large bedrooms, a decent sized living room/dining room and a good kitchen (with a dishwasher and clothes washer). We were a party of 6 (including two very small children, 2 and 3) and had more than enough room.
Keep in mind that it is on the 5th floor which really means the 6th floor for us North Americans. However, even though we had to lug a lot of luggage up and down the stairs (with help from Claudio) this was NOT a big deal. Kept us fit! (And we were there during a heat wave.)
The flat is near Earl's Court tube station and we also took the 430 bus quite often (which passes right in front).
A few things to keep in mind: the Troubadour is a great local pub just a little west on Old Brompton Road...and Claudio suggested Easybus as a solution to get us to Gatwick (the pick up point is about a 1KM walk west). This was very helpful as I was unsure how we were going to get our voluminous amount of luggage on the District Line during rush hour.
So great to have you and your family staying with us Chris and really appreciate your nice comments and feedbacks - Thanks for the comment on the 4th floor walk up, I agree it is something you get used to and assuming no issues with mobility, it is a good way to stay fit :) Hope to welcome you and your family back sometimes in the future.
Fantastic rental! Luigi was very helpful and flat was great. Earls Court location was perfect, walking distance to lots of attractions and plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. nearby. Beds were comfortable and flat came with lots of thoughtful extras like spices in the cupboard, and coffee, that made it easy to settle in. We were a family of 4 + grandma so three bedrooms was nice to have. Yes, there are stairs, as clearly stated - good way to work off those pints from the pub! Thanks for a great stay.
