The Space

Built in 1905, this small 2 bedrooom/1 bath home in Arroyo Grande's quaint Village has tons of charm and history. Located near the historic Paulding House, it is a short walk (2 blocks) to shops and restaurants and just minutes to drive to the beach, Lopez Lake, golf courses and/or wine tasting (our favorites are Kynsi, Talley and Chamisal). Saturday Farmer's Market is 3 blocks from the house.

Large sunny deck with view of Oceano dunes, cozy bedrooms - one queen bed, two twin beds (trundle), with jack-and-jill bathroom. Eat-in kitchen. Nice backyard, but unfenced.

Interaction with Guests

Would like to meet guest upon check-in but realize that can't happen all the time. I prefer to text or email for communication. Calls are welcome too.

The Neighborhood

Getting around

The driveway is steep going down. There is plenty of parking in the back but PLEASE DO NOT PARK anywhere in the driveway – it is not our property. The driveway is a ten-foot easement all the way down. If you are towing something it might be better to park on street.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Aaron and Susan's place. It is such a lovely, well decorated cottage. They allowed our well behaved pup to stay with us as well, which made our stay that much better. We loved soaking in the sunshine on the gated back deck with our dog. The house has everything you might need, a fully stocked kitchen, fast wifi, netflix, etc. The location is amazing, just a short walk from tons of great restaurants and shops. Arroyo Grand is a charming little town. We also loved being so close to Pismo Beach, SLO, and Morrow Bay (excellent dog beach there!). The hosts are great communicators and kept in contact. They also left us an excellent bottle of Chardonnay from their favorite local vineyard with a nice card welcoming us to their home. This stay was among our favorites on AirBnb and we will definitely be back. We highly recommend this charming cottage!

  • We had a wonderful stay last weekend, just wish we could have stayed longer:) The house is really cute and furnished very nicely. The patio is amazing with the sun and the views and the back yard was great for playing with our dog. You can't ask for a better location for proximity to the village. It was nice and quiet and night and we slept great. The gas fireplace in the living room was really cozy and romantic and kept us plenty warm. We loved the sunlit kitchen leading out to the patio. When we got there we were left with a really nice bottle of white wine which was delicious. The hosts were in touch with us over text messages and were really responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

  • Delightful place close to AG village and easy access to the surrounding towns. Breakfast on the deck is a wonderful experience. Great kitchen. Everything you need for a restful retreat in character/tastefully decorated accommodation. We look forward to our next visit.

  • We had a perfect Thanksgiving weekend at Aaron and Susan's! The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. We were especially impressed with the deck area, it was a great place for mid morning coffee as well as a gathering spot for family before heading to the village or into San Luis; great view and plenty of sun. The beach was a five-ten minute drive down Grand Avenue and there were several nice restaurants in the immediate area.

    Aaron was the consummate host!

  • A truly wonderful spot on the Central coast. It's a perfect launching pad for vineyards, food and hiking explorations. The house is extremely well laid out with excellent detail from Aaron and Susan.

  • What a wonderful place to stay. Aaron and Susan were kind enough to let us bring our two dogs. We went to the nearby beach every day, had breakfast on the deck and yes a tomato fresh off the vine. The home has everything you need and more. We will be back for sure.
Thank you Aaron and Susan for making this trip so special.

  • Such a wonderful, cozy house! I loved my month there. And ripe heirloom tomatoes to boot! Everything you see and read about this house in the photos and description is completely accurate and I will be a bigger person and not hog it for myself ;-), and tell you that you will have an amazing stay here. Aaron and Susan are the best hosts--attentive and friendly. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • Really comfortable house with excellent hosts. Everything was well organized, the communication was a breeze and the home itself was superb and extremely clean. Bed was comfortable, location walkable yet quiet, and the outdoor area was fabulous. Would highly recommend!

  • Awesome hosts with an awesome pad. The house is conveniently located close to the beach but far enough away the you can escape the heavy tourist scene of Pismo Beach.
