Quirky Comfy, Cool Location D4 / 6

Apartment - Private room · Marlborough Road, Donnybrook, Dublin, Ireland

The Space

Hi! Welcome to Dublin!
Do you want to experience the ‘real’ Dublin city? You’ve found the right place!
My apartment is in a red brick building, built 150 years ago in the historic Georgian style, with a quirky interior.

Your room has crisp white sheets, and towels are included. It is a fresh and cosy room with some shelves for your clothes, plugs + international adaptors.

The apartment includes:
* Central heating
* Hot shower
* Kitchen with dining table, kettle, cooker, microwave, washing machine
* Free wi-fi throughout the house - 120mb
* Breakfast, coffee, teas - self-service :)

And in the warmer weather, there’s a large garden to sit in the sunshine!

Guest Access

This is a small 2 bedroom apartment. Guests have the use of their own room, share the bathroom with me, and have full use of the kitchen, with seating area.

Interaction with Guests

I work full-time during the week, but am in the apartment a lot in the evenings so I'll usually have time to explain everything and provide tips / advice. Sometimes I go out of town on the weekends. You'll have your own key so you can come and go as you like. I'm happy to have a chat, and also respect your privacy and space.

The Neighborhood

The apartment is in the perfect location to enjoy the city centre, and is located right beside the desirable villages of Ranelagh and Donnybrook, where you’ll find plenty of shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants!

Getting around

There are direct links to:
The airport: 30mins with the ‘Aircoach’, runs every 20mins; costs €14 return
The city centre (3km): 10mins by bus, runs every 8mins; costs €2.35 each way
(Or if you feel energetic you can walk to the city centre in 30mins)

Other Things to Note

Please note that my apartment is not a sterile hotel - it is lived in, it is a home, so although I do my best to keep it clean at all times, it has the normal day-to-day wear and tear that a home would have :)

  • Staying at Ellen´s made me confirm once again what a difference it makes to be near positive-attitude people who enjoy life. Ellen is a great host, friendly, helpful, and what's most important to me, relaxed and easy to be around.

    The house itself is lovely. Bright, clean, and located in one of Dublin's nicest's area, a quiet neighbourhood yet with plenty of shops and restaurants and walking-distance to the city centre.

    So happy that I chose Ellen's! Already recommended it to friends ;)

  • 5 stars for Ellen :)
    Her place is as nice as you see in the pictures, comfortable, clean and very beautiful. It's located in a central and nice area of Dublin.
    In addition, her house has a wonderful garden perfect to enjoy the spring days. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you, Ellen!

  • My first bnb experience and thanks to Ellen probably not my last.

    We haven't actually met because she was away for the week of my stay, but we talked over the phone and through the website, and she's been really nice and flexible. I only booked 1 day before I was to due to arrive and she got back to me and confirmed the booking within hours! Totally saved my life!

    When I arrived everything was clean and tidy. The bed's comfortable and the room is a good size. There's a few hooks on the wall and a couple of shelving units where you can keep your stuff. The kitchen's nice and bright with a lovely view. Clean bathroom. I've never actually used it, but there's a working fireplace in the living room. And Ellen's mum is absolutely lovely :)

    All in all it's a warm and cozy little home equipped with everything you might need in a perfect location with plenty of shops and buses around.

  • We stayed for three days in Ellen's Victorian house. It is located in one of the the nicest area's in Dublin. Ellen is a good host and she enjoys a conversation as well. If you are looking for a good place, close to the centre, this is a good option. About 15 min walk to centre. The room was great and the breakfast was solid Irish, eggs, toast, cheese and Jam. We will definitely book this bnb again.

  • Ellen was an amazing host. Her place is cozy and full of laughter. It is in a great location just outside the main Dublin centre. She is friendly and a pleasure to hang out and chat with. Ellen was also kind enough to share her delicious meals with me as well. All in all it was a grand time!!
