E komo mai. Welcome to Paradise. Our Hale and detached studio Ohana (separate guest house) are located on a private road in the beautiful Leilani Estates Subdivision on a secluded one acre lot, offering the perfect location to enjoy all that the Big Island of Hawaii has to offer.
Perfect for a couple or up to 4 people, we offer Hale Lezarde with Master Suite including a king sized bed and a jetted tub in the master bath, and a queen sized bed in the second bedroom with its own full bath. Hale Lezarde has a comfortable split floor plan for privacy, with a large, open living room, wood burning fireplace, dining area and a spacious kitchen. A large, island style screened in lanai is located off the kitchen for dining or relaxing.
The detached studio Ohana (separate guest house) is separated from the main house by a covered outdoor breezeway and offers private accommodation for up to 4 additional people in one large room with a twin over double bed bunk and a full size futon. The Ohana has a kitchenette with refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and microwave and a 3/4 bathroom with shower. A perfect place for children or relatives traveling with you, the Ohana is a great way to provide for extra guests and provide more privacy for the main house. The Ohana cannot be rented separately from the main house.
Hale Lezarde is set back on the lot for privacy in a beautiful rain forest setting. The secluded one acre lot is landscaped with Hapu'u ferns, Ohia trees and palm trees and abundant flowering plants including anthurium, gardenia and ginger. There are mature, producing orange trees, banana trees and avocado trees, and a papaya tree as well as coffee and pineapple plants which we invite you to enjoy in season. You will know you are in Hawaii the minute you walk onto this property!
Leilani Estates Subdivision offers a community park about 2 miles from the house, with walking trails, basketball courts, a playground, and a picnic pavilion.
As our guest at Hale Lezarde, you will receive complimentary access to Guide Lezarde Hawaii, with the most up to date information about the Real Hawaii. You will also have the opportunity to choose additional a la carte services of Lezarde Travel, LLC, including concierge service, assistance with travel reservations and booking and guided tours. We also provide each of our guest families with a complimentary copy of the most recent edition of The Big Island Revealed, which we consider to be the best tour guide available for the Big Island.
Swimming and snorkeling at the world famous Kapoho Tide Pools or a soak at Ahala Nui hot pond is a 15 minute drive away, or take the 10 minute drive to Kalapana where you will find Uncle Robert's awa bar , Kalapana Cafe and the Wednesday night market with its amazing food, crafts and entertainment. The Maku'u Sunday Market a short drive from Pahoa Town is a wonderful event with food, entertainment and an assortment of merchandise to appeal to every kind of shopper.
Discover Volcanoes National Park and see Madame Pele in action as she continues to make new land for our beautiful Island. Visit the Lava Viewing Area the end of the road for a spectacular night view of the lava glowing as it flows down the pali.
Hilo Town is a 30 mile drive away where you can enjoy the great bargains at the Hilo Market or walk along Hilo Bay and see the Banyan Drive and Japanese Garden. Just north of HIlo, you will find beautiful Akaka Falls with a paved walkway through the lush tropical forest.
Take a trip off the beaten path and discover the real Hawaii with a trip to Punau'lu's black sand beach where the Honu 'ea (Hawksbill turtles) come out on the beach to bask in the sun. A stop at the Shaka Bar, the southernmost bar in the U.S. is a great way to relax on the way back. Kick back at clothing optional Kehena Beach and enjoy the Drum Circle on Sunday night. Kalani Spa with yoga classes, massage and swimming pool is located about 15 minutes from Hale Lezarde.

You may have heard that Mme. Pele is cleaning her house and that there is an active lava flow that has reached the edge of Pahoa Town in the Puna District. When this flow crosses Highway 130, services in Pahoa Town and travel time from Hilo to Hale Lezarde will be impacted. Two alternate gravel roads have been constructed to Leilani Estates and lower Puna and will provide access when the lava flow crosses Highway 130. In addition, Chain of Craters road is currently under construction to allow access to Lower Puna through Kalapana. Hale Lezarde and Leilani Estates are located uphill from the current flow and are not in danger from the current flow.

A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. When Highway 130 is closed due to lava flow, access to Hale Lezarde is via Railroad Avenue, Government Beach Road and Chain of Craters Road (under construction) which are all gravel roads.
HALE LEZARDE RENTAL RULES
All guests will be required to disclose name, address and age. Lease must be signed prior to admittance to the property.
1.Smoking is NOT permitted in house, Ohana, or on the lanai or decks.
2. Use and storage of fireworks anywhere on the property is prohibited.
3.People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
4.All of the units are privately owned; the owners and Lezarde Travel LLC are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners and Lezarde Travel LLC are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
5. Guest party and anyone guest invites to use the premise shall comply with all laws, orders, ordinances and other public requirements now or hereafter pertaining the Leased Premises, including all covenants of Leilani Estates Subdivision (URL HIDDEN) No controlled substances are permitted anywhere on the property at any time.
6.Guest and those in the guest party will keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
Hawaiian Tradition: Please remove your shoes or slippers when entering the house of Ohana.
7.Only use appliances for their intended uses
8. PETS are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed. Additional security deposit of $500 is required for pets.
9.Parking: Parking is limited to 4 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
10.Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units. Guests renting thirty days or longer will be charged a cleaning fee of $160 every 30 days and will allow access for cleaning crew one day out of every 30 days during their stay.
11. Household Supplies: Initial supplies of paper products, soap and cleaners will be provided and guests will be responsible to refill as needed.
12.Fireplace: The fireplace is not currently available for guest use. Do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace. Do not attempt to light a fire of any kind in the indoor fireplace.
13.Water and Septic: The house and Ohana use catchment water and a septic system. The water from the faucets is filtered but not purified. Bottled water is provided for drinking and cooking. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the plumbing system, you could be charged damages for repair of the system.
14.Storms: Lezarde Travel LLC does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of G-d, or other reasons beyond its control. No refunds will be given for storms or inclement weather. Property is not located in a Tsunami evacuation zone.
15. Minors: All children under 21 must be accompanied by a parent.
16. Subleases Prohibited: No subleases are permitted for any portion of the house or Ohana. Guest shall not assign or sub-let or grant any license to use the premises without written consent from Lezarde Travel, LLC.
17. Enforcement: Failure of guest party of any people that guests invite to comply with these rules may result in guests being asked to leave the property prior to the end of the lease agreement. If guests are asked to leave due to violation of these rules, no refund of any rent or damage deposit will be given to guest.
18. Hold Harmless: Lezarde Travel LLC does not assume any liability for
loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither do we accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity, plumbing, telephone or internet service. Lezarde Travel LLC cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, TV's, Cable boxes, DVD players, Wi-FI modems or other appliances. If they do not appear in satisfactory condition to you, please notify us immediately and we will have them checked. We will make our best efforts to resolve the issue in a timely manner. No refunds or rebates will be given for service outages.
19, ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The Guest, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Lezarde Travel, LLC and its members and employees from any and all claims, demands and causes of action by reason of any injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Lezarde Travel, LLC and its members and employees free and harmless of any claim or suit arising therefrom. In any action concerning the rights, duties or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.
