We stayed in Dar Jedda one night in our way to Marrakech from Fez! The place is amazing, Mustafa was great with us and Habiba cooked a great dinner for us although we arribed quite late. The breakfast was delicious and we liked to sleep in a so quiet place were you could only hear the river :)
We had such a great time at Dar Jedda and would have loved to stay longer. It was the highlight of our trip. Everyone loved the house, the food and the hospitality. Mustapha and Habiba were so welcoming and kind. I don't think anyone could hope to meet two more gracious people.
We drove through poppy splashed meadows to the weekly souk on the river bank; bought spices, tagines and spiced coffee which I hope will taste like the coffee Habiba makes. We then drove on to Cascades d'Ouzoud and spent a lovely day rambling by the waters before coming home to mint tea from the garden and a beautiful meal. The weather was warm so we ate outside in the courtyard, not something we get to do often in the north of England.
This village is off the beaten track with very few tourists but it is easily accessible and a welcome retreat from Marrakech.
