Lovely, large peaceful, secluded attic room with a huge superking sized bed with freshly laundered cotton sheets. This room is suitable for 2 adults (with single beds for 2 children), please note it is not suitable for more than 2 adults. The rest of the house is a large busy family home - with kids and pets and clutter.
The room contains a comfortable day bed to lounge on, a table and two chairs, cupboard space, tea/coffee making facilities, vanity mirror, hairdryer, hot water bottles and towels. Bedside tables with books. Ask if you'd like to borrow an iron/board or trouser press. Lovely views over the park if you are tall.
For those who are with children, the day bed can be made up into a bed, and there is a further pull out single bed underneath. There is also a travel cot available. Please note this room is NOT suitable for more than 2 adults.
The shared bathroom is one floor below, with a bath, electric shower, loo and sink. There's another loo next door to the bathroom. There are other bathrooms in the house too.
A breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit juice is included in the price (you can help yourself, I'll show you where things are). You are welcome to use the large kitchen for cooking. .
We have WIFI which you are welcome to use, its unlimited and is generally good in all rooms.
The house is a large family and shared 'end of terrace Victorian' home. We have 3 cats and a dog, several children/young adults and lodgers too. There are several rooms we have for airbandb guests (a single and another superking on the floor below the attic).
Its definitely more a busy family home than an immaculate b and b, you're encouraged to make yourselves at home.. There are toys and clutter and movement. We like it and hope you will too.
Please do note that the house has a lot of stairs and the room is in the attic at the top, the kitchen in the basement.
Parking is often difficult out the front in the evenings, so we often suggest parking round the back of the house (accessed along an unmade track). A permit out the front is often available if necessary.
We're right in central Stroud, minutes from the bus and railway station, and all the shops and restaurants. Do check out the fabulous farmers market on a Saturday!
We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Guests are very welcome to use the open plan kitchen for cooking and relaxing, even a game of table football..
Interaction with Guests
we hope you'll make yourselves at home; join in with us as you wish in the kitchen, or keep yourselves private, it really is your call. You may meet other airbandbers too! Please let us know if you need anything or find something you don't like; we so want to make your experience a good one and would prefer to know at the time so we can improve your visit - and for future guests too.
Stroud is a very chilled place, where I am imagine you'll feel comfortable and made to feel welcome. It is an 'alternative' town with interesting shops and cafes, alongside some of the usual high street shops. The countryside round about is lovely and there are many walks that can be done from the house. We're ideally placed for the award winning Saturday farmers market, Stroud Subscription Rooms, Centre of Arts and Science and Lansdown Hall (all within 3-7 minutes walk).
very convenient for the train and bus stations. Parking is at the back or with a permit at the front.
Other Things to Note
Please do make yourselves at home.
We are usually a 'shoes off' household. We have felt guest slippers should you like or you might want to bring your own. If you'd prefer to keep your shoes on then that's ok too.
All guests need to be airbandb verified. The attic room is suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 children. Please do not book (especially instant book) if you are more than 2 adults. Thanks!
Check-in is usually from 4pm, and we ask you arrive before 9.30pm as we have young kids and go to bed early - you can always collect your key and go out. If you're arriving after 8pm please could you knock on the door, and try not to use the door bell or knocker.
There are lodgers as well as the family in the house - please do not go into the door marked private on the ground floor - its a bedroom not the loo/kitchen!
