Cute little1/bedroom 1/bathroom with refrigerator and wet bar. It isn't huge, but it has a bedroom with a king size bed, a separate living area, a full bathroom with a tub and shower, and a refigerator/wet bar area with a microwave and a hotplate. There's a backyard area which is shared with the three condo owners in the building.
Golden Gate Park is a half block to the north and Irving Street is a half block to the south. Ocean Beach (with views of the Seal Rock, the Cliff House, surfers and more) is less than two miles to the west and Haight/Ashbury is less than two miles to the East. Great public transit including buses and light rail. Zipcar has cars you can rent by the hour one block away, and you can rent Segways and eBikes a couple doors down from the apartment.
I have one parking spot for a compact car in the attached garage that I can offer. It is tight. If you can get your car into it (about 16ft long), you can have it. Otherwise, there is free street parking, and a lot very close by that is free after 6pm.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, especially close is Irving Street and also the 9th Avenue area. This is a fun, safe, convenient place to stay in San Francisco!

The apartment is situated in a great location, handy for N Judah straight into downtown. Nice restaurants in the area (the taco shop & Marnee Thai). Brian and Jean were very helpful especially when there was an issue with some water coming from another apartments water heater. Very quick to respond and easily contactable. We had an awesome time in San Francisco and the apartment was a great base in a great location.
I really liked this place, especially the location next to Golden Gate Park. Recommend it.
Brian is a great host, he solved a problem with the apartment door lock on a Sunday afternoon and really fast. Also the instructions that he gives in regards to the aparment are pretty clear.
The aparment itself is quiet and nice, although it could use a little bit more of sunlight. The neighborhood is mainly Asian, so free of hipster or shops trying to cash in on hippie nostalgia.
Golden Gate park is 1 minute away walking, a gym is about 5 minutes away and buses and street trains are really close to.
Amazing people, very very kind hosts. Brian and Jean were very patient with all my questions, as this was my first time with AirBnb... and thanks to them, it was great!
The unit is even nicer than it looks on the pictures. I was positively surprised when I got there for the first time. I rented this unit to spend new year's with my girlfriend and we were both 100% satisfied for what we got. Very comfortable, got all we needed. Very close to public transportation (you can get to almost everywhere in SF riding the N Judah!), Walgreen's 3 blocks away and all sorts of stores to cover almost everything for daily needs. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone stopping by the neighbourhood.
I had great time in Brian and Jean's place. They're very nice and helpful in all aspects. The location is wonderful nearby N Judah and a lot of bus stop too. And the golden gate park is just a little walk from the place. I really recommend the place to everyone that wants to have a nice stay in San Francisco!
My husband and I have stayed for 9 weeks at this apartment and it was fantastic. It's in a quiet neighborhood, very near the golden gate park and we could find everything that we need by foot. It's near the N-Judah (train/subway) and there are some bus stops very closer. It takes 40 min to downtown and 10 min to Ocean Beach by bus/ train. There is a great Pub (Chug Pub) in front of the apartment and others bars and restaurants (most of them oriental restaurant) near. The apartment is not small for two people. Brian was very kind and solved all the problems that we had (just few problems). Because we had a long stay, we had to buy some stuffs for the kitchen, like pots, pans, cup and some hangs. I believe that the next guest will not have this problem, because we didn't bring back these things. We loved our time there and we recomend the apartment for evryone.
Super 10-day trip to San Francisco, this is a surprising city. We visited the city discovered its culture (Beat, Haight Ashbury, Mission) and admire her physical beauty (Golden Gate bridge, Haight, Marina). Brian's apartment is really well located, 20 minutes from Downtown in bus. There are plenty of restaurants and groceries in the area. Brian is accommodating for arrival times and departures. The apartment is small and a little cold, but suitable for a long stay of a week or two for 2 persons. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is amazing.
A very peaceful flat close to the Golden gate park, perfect for our extended stay in San Francisco.
We had a fantastic stay at Brian's place when we were in San Francisco for the Outside Lands festival. The location was perfect. It was about a 15 minute walk to the festival entrance, and we could actually hear Paul McCartney warming up/doing sound checks the night before the festival through our bedroom window (seriously, it was amazing.)
The unit is small (I wouldn't recommend more than a single person or couple) but for the price, it's leagues above staying at an expensive hotel. Brian is great -- very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. Even though my flight was delayed two hours, I had no trouble meeting Brian to get entrance to the unit.
The only negative I could think of is that the bedroom backs onto a shared space for the building, and it could be rather noisy if there are people chatting outside late at night -- it almost sounds as if they're in the room. This only happened on a couple of occasions during the week we were there, and it certainly wouldn't hinder me from staying here again in the future.
We recently relocated to San Francisco and finding long term lodging is a challenge. Our lease begins July 31st and Brian's place was perfect for the length of time available. We stayed a week plus an additional 2 nights and it's all in all very comfortable.
It's true it's sparse but my girlfriend and I just finished a cross-country cycling trip and are used to living with very little.
The bed is comfortable. The fridge is huge! and the freezer can fit an impressive amount of ice cream. The apartment is clean. The only natural light is from the bedroom window but if you're out and about visiting the city that shouldn't be a problem. Golden Gate Park IS just a minute walk's away. And the N line is a short distance too.
I agree with other reviews that it was a bit chilly but there is the thermostat and two fluffy blankets.
We also had a UPS delivery that arrived after our check-out date, and a few items left behind, but Brian and his wife were very helpful in arranging that everything be returned to us.
Safeway has affordable groceries but it's a long walk to 30th and Noriega and the 2nd option is pretty expensive.
All in all, for an easy going couple who don't expect the Ritz, Brian's place on 20th Ave. is perfect.
