The space

The studio is a large (550 sq ft) studio space behind our 1920s cottage. It is completely separate from the cottage, with it's own private entrance. It boasts beautiful bamboo floors, a big bathroom, plenty of sunlight, and has greenery all around. There's a full modern kitchen in there too (just installed, and need to upload photos), with state of the art appliances.

Guest access

Full modern brand new kitchenette inside the studio.

Interaction with guests

The studio is totally separate from the house, with it's own entrance from the driveway. It allows you full privacy, and you can go in and out any time without thinking of making any noise. Therefore our interaction with guests varies according to their wishes. But we'll at least be very happy to meet and greet you when you arrive, and wish you a safe journey when you leave.
In any case, we'll check with you every day (on text, or if you prefer in person) to make sure your stay is comfortable and whether you need anything.

The neighborhood

The surrounding is a 100 year old neighborhood with beautiful cottage houses and greenery. The lake, actually the river, but it is called Town Lake inside the city, is only 1 mile away, and has a nice walking/running trail, 10+ miles long, along with a new 2 mile long boardwalk.

South Congress district, South First district, all within a mile, have the Austin's finest street food and also proper dining. Jazz venues like Continental Club, Elephant Room, Saxon Pub, are all walkable from here.

Beer aficionados, check out Whip In - around the corner, may be 200 meters from the house. It is reported to have the best beer selection in Texas. Live music every night, with spicy and filling fusion food. The other new hangout hood these days, Rainey St neighborhood, with lots of great food, craft beer and breweries is just across the river.

Don't forget to swim and dive at Barton Springs pool - three miles from here - it is quite appropriately called the soul of Austin - natural spring fed 200 meters long pool, with beautiful underwater flora to gaze on. In a hurry? You can do laps in Big Stacy Pool (33 yards long heated outdoor pool) just 200 yards from the house - open from 6am all throughout the year.

This is Austin! Right here.

Getting around

Public bus access within five minutes walking distance. Major artery bus access 10 minutes walking distance. The house is just two blocks from Interstate 35.

The airport is less than 15 mins away.

University of Texas is less than 4 miles away, but you can hop on a bus from around the corner.

For ride sharing, Austin has Fasten, GetMe, Fare, and may be others too (please check web for the latest). We don't have Uber or Lyft, but the ones we have are similar to Uber and Lyft and our guests use those a lot.

Austin also has automated bike rentals (similar to DC or Toronto), and stations are close-by (nearest one is 10 minutes walk from the house).

This is the perfect spot to explore Austin from a everything is within 15 minutes uses driving get distance. East 6th St. Uptown, franklins bbq, everything! Faisal was extremely friendly and helpful with our stay. Went above and beyond what we expected. It's a studio apartment above the garage but it was perfectly quiet. Very spacious place and what looks like a recently remodeled bathroom and kitchen. Would definitely return here!

I can't say enough about my stay. The unit is larger than I perceived. It is clean, reasonably furnished and getting/out is private and painless. Plan to book again

Not only was Austin a great city, but our Airbnb was great too. We mostly communicated with Faisal (mostly through the app and text but a couple times in person). He was helpful, kind, and was available to answer our questions about the city (and even help plan a running route for us). The studio was very clean and was at a great location. We found that it's proximity to a few different bus stops made it very easy to get around town. I'd highly recommend this Airbnb to any other Austin tourists!

Faisal was wonderful! He was easily available via text and made an effort to meet me and my husband face to face. He even made sure to wish us a safe flight back home. The studio was lovely. It was clean and well-kept. We were within a mile or so of everything you want to do in Austin. Additionally, transportation via Ride Austin and BCycle made getting around pretty simple. We loved our stay here. Check out south congress cafe and order the short rib hash! Mañana coffee tucked behind the South Congress Hotel was our favorite coffee spot. Walk down Travis Heights (about 2 blocks down from here). This location was great!

Trisha and Faisal were excellent communicators - very proactive, very clear, very pleasant. Check-in was easy given their detailed instructions. The space is quite pleasant and spacious for a studio, with all the comforts of an apartment - fridge, stove, coffeemaker, etc. The neighborhood - Travis Heights - is peaceful and lovely. There were welcome details and thoughtful touches that really made the stay better than average. They were great hosts.

Lovely studio. Highly recommend staying here. It's a short walk to South Congress and a bit longer to downtown. So worth it!

Thank you for your interest in our place. We live in a beautiful cottage in Travis heights, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Austin. A large studio in the back, completely detached and with it's own entrance, is available for guests. We call it the treehouse nowadays after our friends and other Airbnb guests started affectionately referring to it that way, and it's at second storey level too. And it has solar panels all across it's roof so it can mostly power itself (expect maybe in hot Texas summer months) and you can feel great about being green too!
