1. Please take off your shoes before entering your room. Note that it is customary to leave shoes outside before entering a home in Malaysia especially in Muslim homes because the floor area is used for prayer and floors are kept clean at all times.

3. Please DO NOT smoke in the bedroom or toilet.
4. DO NOT throw anything other than toilet tissue down the toilet bowl as this will result in blockages.
5. Please be informed that we do not have daily house-keeping. Towels & sheets will be changed upon request.
6. Please throw all rubbish into the black bin provided on the veranda & rubbish will be thrown out every other day.
7. We recycle ALUMINIUM cans, kindly throw all aluminium cans in the black bin near the gate.
8. Kindly observe the sensitivities of kampong (village) life & its’ people by not sun-bathing in the open, walk, jog, cycle in a bikini top, throw beer cans or bottles in your immediate surroundings or be loud & boisterous till the early hours of the morning.

10. As this is our private home and we live on site, we have a policy of no visitors or guests of guests on the premises or in the rooms without prior permission from us (the owners).

Because we live surrounded by padi fields which can be very quiet at night apart from the sound of nature, human noise (eg. music, loud talking) tend to be amplified & will startle the resident guard turkey who will gobble loudly in protest. :)

The experience at Damai 2 was wonderful! I have but fond memories of my stay. Everything you need is there - from breakfast to extra towels for the beach. Also, I can't thank Marina enough, for taking the time to fetch us from the ferry terminal, giving us a ride whenever possible, replying ever so quickly, etc. etc.. All in all, lovely place with a even lovelier host. Will recommend and come again!
'Home Sweet Home'.. If you want to look for a place which is artificial blocks of room, You are looking at the wrong place. I would say the place and the host made my trip more special. It's a contemporary house which has lots of nativity in it. I loved the fields around me, the morning sounds of the village cocks. Simple and best..naturally cool..
You always feel as if you are at your home and your good friend is a stone throw away.. Before we think of what we might need, she presents it before us or guides us on what we might require. She is more like a friend than a host. Best host ever. Surely, I am going to recommend 100% .
You won't find better hosts on Langkawi than Marina and Reuben. This husband and wife team bend over backwards to ensure that your time in Langkawi is comfortable and stress free.
Their accommodation is in a great location and they even have a nice motorbike they can rent to you. Our favorite thing to do was exploring the island via motorbike.
Damai 2 is clean and quaint. The bed is large and comfy and the shower/ bathroom is wonderful. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.
We want to thank our hosts for the complimentary food and beverages and also the free airport shuttle.
If we ever return to Langkawai we hope to stay at Marina and Rueben's lovely place again. Thank you!
Marina is an incredible host, the best we've been having so far. She was waiting for us at the airport, we followed her to her lovely place. She's really super helpful and brought us to a nice place in the middle of nowhere where we had a typical breakfast we really needed. She has been super helpful with everything, we had a great time with her and at her place that was a beautiful and relaxing house close to the beach and the airport
Marina was a great host, friendly, welcoming with loads of info about the island. The room has a small outdoor sitting area which is a great place to read a book or chill out. There's lots of great food on the island and it is relatively easy to get around.
How do I start....
From my booking experience to my check out is all pleasant with Marina.
This is my first time using Airbnb. Not bad at all.
Let me share my experience with Marina and Teratak Damai..
Marina fetch us from Airport and show us around for familiarisation our area. She also share a lot of information regarding the house and Langkawi as a whole. Marina hospitality is unforgettable. She is so warm, helpful and friendly.
Teratak Damai is very relaxing.. quiet and privacy. You don't have to worry about noise or etc..
She have cats and the most friendly is Mistique. She is so adorable.. We always bring her into our house at night and sleep with us. We are cat lover by the way so we did that... :-)
The welcome basket is very useful and make you feel at home.
We will wait for Marina to expand her place so we can return soon.. :-)
Marina and her husband Ruben went above and beyond as hosts. When my husband and I arrived in Langkawi, Marina picked us up and took us to her house. She gave us information about the island and told us some of her favorite places and restaurants. We arrived during Ramadan so everything was closed for dinner our first night. Ruben made a homemade chicken curry and delivered it to our villa for us. We were starving and so thankful for his generosity. The villa is very comfortable and beautiful. Marina stocks it with everything you could desire. If we needed a ride into the city, Marina never hesitated to take us. She even took us on a drive around the island on a very stormy day so we could see it! If we ever find ourselves back on Langkawi we will definitely stay at Marina and Rubens. :)

About the Host, Marina
LOVE reading, gardening, wildlife, smell & sound of rain, open spaces, coffee, hammocks, wind in my face, travel, food & handmade craft.
I'm quirky, down-to-earth & practical. Quick to laugh with a dry sense of humour.
My husband Ruben the local drug dealer (he's a pharmacist) & I both suffered from burnout living in the city before moving to Langkawi (where we met) & making this our island paradise home. We are both Malaysians (of two different ethnic groups) who grew-up/studied/lived/worked in the UK & US (that's why one speaks with an American accent & the other a Yorkshire accent!). :D
We live here with our 4 cats, 3 teenage children, 1 hen & 1 jungle rooster surrounded by paddy fields, swaying coconut trees, water buffaloes & visiting migratory birds with the beach only 10 minutes by bicycle & 5 minutes by car away from our home.
We welcome honest, sincere people who seek a little respite from the stresses of life & would like a taste of living in a quiet village environment surrounded by paddy fields & a beautiful view of the Mat Cincang mountain range which is older than the Everest!
We live onsite and as a host we're available for help & enquiries but will give you plenty of privacy & space for you to relax & enjoy your holiday.
As travellers, we love travel tips from the locals on local sights & experiences! We love to explore or just sit quietly & read a book, drink coffee, soak in the atmosphere of the place we are visiting, are quiet & independent.
