Awesome place, Vic is a great host. The vibre and the people in the house is great, definitely visiting again next year.
My lodging was expensive but the price was worth the experience, I don't regret anything, People I met at Home were just Great. Thank You Vic, for all that you did.
Wonderful setup with great folks. House was really clean with lots of thought put into helping people enjoy their time there. I would definitely stay at any of the Hacker Houses again!
HackerHome Hopping, Part 3: Sunnyvale!
True to its name, Sunnyvale was sunny when I got there, even though it was mid February and cloudy in SF. And the Sunnyvale HackerHome? Fabulous, of course. :)
I got to meet Vic during my stay here (up till now my busy schedule meant I was out and about most of the time). And Vic is a great host. He's conscientious about his guests and honestly cares about making not just a bed, but an experience for his guests. I'm not exaggerating either. I found my HackerHome experiences so interesting that I stayed at four different homes, and each one was unique, yet with a consistent quality of both guests and accommodations.
The Sunnyvale house itself is in a great location. It's a quick walk from the Caltrain station, and I've walked there long after dark and it's perfectly safe. The girls' room is amazing — there is panelling and a fireplace and nice lighting, and best of all, and en-suite bathroom. The atmosphere of the room is woody and serene and peaceful and pretty darn cool. The kitchen is great and there is an awesome backyard.
And the people in Sunnyvale? Awesome, as I've found the people who stay at Vic's lodgings tend to be. I was commuting to SF so I didn't have as much time to talk with the other guests as I would have liked, but the time I did spend there, I enjoyed immensely.
If you are in the area, I strongly recommend this HackerHome!
Vic has made the 'hacker home' very nice indeed. The bedrooms and bathroom were extremely clean and nicely laid out. The common areas were less impeccable, however only to be expected when many people are living together. Vic was very communicative both before and during my stay. While I was very busy during my stay and did not get to know any of the other "housemates" they were all very kind to me when I did interact with them. There were many people staying there (maybe 10-11) and the house was usually quiet. When there was noise and I wanted to sleep, when I asked politely the music/moves were turned down. I would highly recommend staying here if you don't mind a group living situation.
Vic is a fantastic host. Anything you need, he provides it. Not only is this a place to stay, but a place to meet cool like minded people. Would definitely stay here again!
Vic has a great place. Enjoyed my stay at the Hacker Home in Sunnyvale. Really clean, spacious, safe, convenient (just 10 mins from the CalTrain station) and homely. Recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay at in Sunnyvale.
