Large, bright, private, comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath duplex with plenty of parking, in convenient location. Pets accepted with prior approval and fee.
This bright and airy space sleeps 6 to 8 guests depending on who shares a bed. It has been inspected and is licensed by City of Austin. Also check my other listing of the Cottage near SOCO, and comments from prior guests. Located on the North Side of Ben White Blvd., you are not far from SXSW venues. Fire up the grill and hang with your friends and your (pre-approved) dog on the spacious deck in the enclosed back yard. Play darts, horseshoes or dominoes. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit. Snuggle into one of 4 regular beds (1 queen and 2 full-size, and a twin). Additional sleeping accommodations are provided with double sleeper sofa and roll-a-way. Enjoy bright and airy beamed cathedral ceilings, walk in closet, and 2 full baths, complete kitchen, and laundry room inside apartment. Treehouse has basic cable, internet, and Blue Ray for your Netflix account.
If you are driving from the Airport, it is a straight shot West on Hwy 71 (Ben White Blvd.) You will be almost equal distance between Austin's 2 main North and South routes (IH 35 and MoPac). Ten minutes or less to the Convention Center, and closer than that to Zilker Park, Auditorium Shores, and SOCO (South Congress with its cute shops, great eateries, and interesting foot traffic.) The popular Rainey Street club area is just across the Congress Street Bridge. Go North on South Lamar for a seemingly endless stretch of shops, cafes and bars. You will want to go to Maria's Taco Express Sunday morning for a rousing gospel music breakfast. Two-step with strangers at the Broken Spoke, and experience old South Austin at the Horseshoe Lounge. Duck into the nearby ice cream shop called "Lick" for a double scoop of Beet (yes, I said Beet) and maybe salted caramel, or grapefruit/cilantro homemade ice cream. Check out the Central Market Center just across Ben White/71, where you can get groceries, have a great lunch, catch a movie, and buy duds and gear at Whole Earth Provisions, or Cavender's Western Wear--you know you want some boots. Longing for decent Tex-Mex, try Casa Maria on South First Street.
You can expect to find plenty of towels, shower jell, TP, hair dryer, clothes iron and laundry detergent. There is a good stash of coffee, tea, cream and sugar, and condiments. Bus stops are a short 3 or 4 blocks away.
Gather wood for the fire pit by strolling down the magical path through the light and lovely woods next door. You may encounter children cutting through on their way home from school, and maybe a raccoon or two.
Check in and departure times can be flexible--just ask. When checking for availability, please enter your dates on my calendar and it will confirm that your days can be booked or are no longer available. Feel free to contact me with any unanswered questions. Will consider 2 nights only if there are fewer than 6 people in the party--please ask.
Daily price includes 17% hotel taxes, which are paid by me. Cleaning fee is for deep cleaning the day of check out. Will consider booking for just 2 nights for small groups. Please ask.
Fenced back yard, front deck in trees, full kitchen, iron, hair dryer, laundry room, Central Market shopping center, easy access to anywhere in Austin, Gold's Gym nearby, SOCO area, privacy, plenty of parking space.
There is a door code that I will give you so that your arrival can be flexible. You will probably not see me unless you need something--then I am only 15 minutes away.

Neat, cozy and peaceful. Thanks to Kaye for being such a gracious host!
The Treehouse was a great place to stay for the weekend and I will definitely stay again if I am ever in Austin for an extended amount of time. Because we had a group of girls, having 2 bathrooms was amazing. The place was very cutely decorated and had a nice Austin charm to it. Kaye was very easy to work with and made sure we were taken care of.
Kaye is such a splendid host! The house was clean and well-stocked with all the supplies and toiletries you need. There was plenty of space for a 7 person party. I would come back in a heartbeat!
Kaye, one more time, outstanding!!! I'm now a regular at the tree house, this is my second visit, everything was perfect! We had a nice weekend at your property, looking forward to come back as soon as possible!!!
Kaye was helpful and the house was clean and as described in the profile. Overall it was a great trip to Austin. And everyone had a great time in the house and at SXSW.
Great place! Couldn't have asked for a better spot :)
Kaye's home was very very clean. It was super easy to get into the house, there was no issue with communication and we had a great trip!
Next time I am in Austin I would love to stay here again.
Very great host!
We went to my sons wedding at Mercury Hall on March 1st. The Treehouse was the perfect place to stay as the venue was close by and we were able to take the neighbor roads to get there! We had a BBQ with a few family and friends and the back deck area was perfect! Also took the back roads to Maria's Taco's which was a great place to eat!! I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Austin!
I've stayed in Another one of Kaye's places and she was a great host then and now. The treehouse is lacking nothing. It's private and quiet with all the comforts of home. We would definitely stay here again. It's in a great location about 10 minutes driving to anything we wanted to do. Thanks again Kaye!
The treehouse was a cosy retreat with a wonderful living room that is conducive to hanging out. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen had ample equipment for us to cook meals in. It was a great place to stay in Austin if you want to get away from the core just a little bit.
