This is a bright and sunny single bedroom suite on the 3rd floor of my large family home in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. (Note Old Greenwich is an area of Greenwich with its own separate train station.)
The room has a twin bed with trundle, a sitting area and a separate writing desk by the window overlooking the front garden. There is cable TV and high-speed Wi-Fi.
The bathroom has a deep tub and shower. When the other room on the floor is occupied, you may be sharing the bathroom. The washer/dryer is reserved for guests staying 3 days or more.
There is a $10 cleaning fee.
On the second floor there is a small table where two people can eat, read or have their morning coffee and look out over the front garden. Morning coffee and tea are available but meals are not included. You are welcome to prepare simple meals in our kitchen.
There is street parking but a car is not essential.
You are welcome to eat at our kitchen table or on our back deck in good weather. The family room television is available for the shared use of guests.
Interaction with Guests
I work from home so during the day I am available to answer quick questions but cannot take time from my work day for socializing, unfortunately. Of course I always like to get to know our visitors on arrival.
This is a suburban area with village charm. Downtown Old Greenwich is one block away with charming shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a post office and a supermarket. There are several beautiful parks and areas to hike. A bike is available for riding to the beach 1 mile from the house. Depending on the season and the time of day, entering the beach may require a $5 guest pass obtainable from the community center nearby. Everyone is friendly. Everything is nearby. We love our community and you will too.
This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the New York metropolitan area or southern New England. The train station is a 7 minute walk from our home. It provides service to New York city and all the suburban stops through Westchester County. Taking the train north will get you to Stamford, Bridgeport and New Haven and all the stops in between. Amtrak service is from Stamford, one stop away by Metro North. In addition everything you need for your stay can be obtained at one of the shops in our village which are 2 blocks away.
The owners are highly sensitive to the smell of smoke therefore we regret that we cannot offer our home to smokers. We do not allow pets. Please do not ask. Guests should recognize they are staying in a family home.
Very nice neighborhood. Beautiful house. Easy to "check in"and find out where to go. There was a last minute change to my room because it was double booked but I was fine with the room I received. The parking situation required some planning with car locations in the driveway, but it was not a problem or a big deal. I would stay here again, and I may when I'm in town on business.
Very comfortable stay. Clean room. One negative for me was the fact that there was no TV in the room. But maybe it was meant for me to have peace and quiet which is you get plenty of.
The reservation was canceled 35 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I absolutely loved staying in Christine's house. The room has been beautifully done, and it was great to be able to do my work at the beautiful desk in the window, overlooking the street. The neighbourhood was fantastic and it was amazing to be able to walk down the road to find cafés and shops and a post office. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again.
Had a comfortable & relaxing stay in Old Greenwich while I was there for 1 week for work. Christine & Jim are phenomenal hosts! Highly recommend!
Christine and Jim were excellent hosts they went out of their way to accommodate all of my needs over my 5 day stay. The house was beautiful located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the train station. The room and adjoining bath were spotless when I arrived. This was without a doubt one of the best Airbnb experiences I have had. I would highly recommend them, and I hope to stay there again in the future.
I had booked for 5 nights initially. I had to cancel after one night as I had to travel overseas. Christine was very understanding and refunded some of the payment that I had made for the stay. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

About the Host, Christine
I am a writer, blogger and a published author of aviation-related books, a married woman in her mid fifties. I have four grown children. I live in Connecticut and travel about 6 months out of the year for work, usually on my own.
My first time using airbandb was in Abu Dhabi in 2011. It was a great experience. Since then I've used airbnb about 40 times as a guest all over the world. I enjoyed it so much that in 2012 I became an airbnb host at my home in a New York city suburb and also at 2 Berkshire Mountain vacation properties in Litchfield County, Connecticut.
When people "get it" that this is a home stay, not a hotel, the experience can be fantastic.
I have met some amazing people and stayed in some amazing homes. I am airbnb's biggest fan.
