In the heart of the leafy west end close to the buzz of the university area, a luxurious, large room with double bed and en suite bathroom. Close to museums, shops, restaurants, bars and transport which will whisk you into the city centre in minutes.
Fabulous bright large room with luxury ensuite bathroom in a converted house in a quiet corner of the West End of Glasgow. Come and enjoy the grandeur of a Glasgow apartment and share our sitting room with its high ceiling and great views, and our large kitchen. When the sun shines, enjoy access to the lovely beautifully kept garden shared with our neighbours.
We are minutes away from bus stops (including airport bus) and the suburban train station, with frequent trains to the city centre and to Edinburgh. You can also travel from here on the world famous Glasgow Subway- an underground like no other. Plenty of parking too in the driveway. So a great place for visiting the city's theatres, art galleries, concerts - not to mention the splendid shops. We are also perfectly placed to explore the West End on foot including Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Riverside Museum and Glasgow University. For shoppers, you have specialist shops and delicatessen on the door step and an embarrassment of fabulous cafes and restaurants from the cheap and cheerful to the award winning.
We provide continental breakfast with home made goodies including muesli, bread and marmalade-- along with fresh fruit, coffee tea etc. You will have access to wifi and your room includes TV, hair dryer, straighteners. We even stretch to comfy dressing gowns and electric blanket. We have a spare single camp bed or inflatable double mattress available for use by child. If you give plenty of notice, we will locate a travel cot if required.
We have an extensive knowledge of the cultural scene in Glasgow (and Edinburgh) and look forward to providing you with 'top tips' to make your special and memorable.
Finally, two myths about Glasgow. First, that it is a violent and dangerous city. There is no denying that the city has its crime problems related to drink, drugs and poverty. However tourists are never the target for this kind of crime and it is a safe in Glasgow as you would find in any other similar sized city. Again we can advise on keeping safe.
Second, it rains all the time. True, Glasgow is in the west of the country and does get its fair share of rain. It never gets very cold, nor does the temperature rise to uncomfortable levels even in midsummer. It is perfect weather for sight seeing and, there is plenty to do in and outdoors. However, as you pack to travel to visit, remember the words of comedian Billy Connolly, one of the city’s famous sons, ‘There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little.’
Please note- there are internal stairs and unfortunately the property is not accessible for those with walking problems.
There is a fridge and a microwave in your room -along with a kettle and everything you need for breakfast. However you are free to use our kitchen if you want to cook a meal.
We will be around during your stay and happy to provide you with ideas and tips for your visit to Glasgow. If by chance we have to be away we will arrange for a friend to be around to look after you -- and the cats!
The West End of Glasgow is safe, leafy, with wonderful architecture and has all the buzz which a university area enjoys. As well has having access to the big supermarkets, there is also a huge range of independent shops and some great specialist restaurants and bars.
We are five minutes from the underground, bus routes, suburban trains, and airport link bus. You can get a train from the end of the road which takes you in one direction to Edinburgh and the other to Loch Lomond. What's more we often get around the local area on bikes and happy to recommend places where you can hire for your stay.
We have realised how hard it can be for our guests arriving from abroad to do simple things like calling for a taxi, making a telephone reservation at a restaurant or even sending us a text to ask for some info. So we can provide you with a UK mobile phone/cell phone for the duration of your stay with £10 credit. We will take a deposit which you will get back less cost of any calls when you return at end of your stay. Ask about this when you make your booking.

I enjoyed her home made Christmas cake! I thoroughly recommend this if you are planning a trip to Glasgow and need a convenient place to stay to see friends, family or explore the city and it's surrounding areas.

I highly recommend Fortrose Manor nothing put positive comments.
Christine's cats are cute and friendly.
The whole house is immaculate.
I found it very easy to communicate with Christine before and during my stay by making use of the air B&B messaging system. The unit is private and sunny and has a spacious bathroom. Our hosts set us up nicely with breakfast and coffee supplies for our stay. There are helpful guides and brochures in the room. Super comfy bed, quiet house, leafy neighborhood near a famous cricket green. Just steps away from the Partick train station with Subway or above ground train connecting options, including super easy connections to Edinburgh. Easy walking to an authentic whiskey bar and a cosy contemporary restaurant called Two Figs. An easy walk to the major museums in the area as well.
This is a real treasure of an Airbnb. Christine is a very warm and friendly host. You've got a great room and ensuite bathroom that's clean and very private. Almost like the feel of a separate apartment. Christine provides a great breakfast that she leaves in the room as there is a small fridge and kettle too. I'm sorry our stay there was only one night!
An absolutely perfect stay! Exactly what we needed. Christine was so welcoming and friendly and has the most stunning house. The room is completely separate to the rest of the flat so feels really private. It's tastefully decorated and has all the facilities and amenities you could need. Brilliant location. Would definitely recommend and will be back! We actually checked into a 5star hotel in Edinburgh the following night and both said we'd preferred our room at Christine's!
Christine made us feel so welcome nothing was too much trouble for her. The apartment was exactly as described on Airb&b website
Fortrose Manor overlooks Glasgow Cricket Club, in a really lovely spot. offstreet parking was a great bonus.
Plenty of info was left in room & Christine was always willing to help if we had any queries. The location of Fortrose Manor could'nt be more handy for the West End of Glasgow, great for restaurants & nightlife within easy walking distance.
Glasgow has excellent bus, rail (underground) & taxi services I've never known taxis arrive so quickly !!
I'd recommend (phone number hidden) (Glasgow Taxi Co.)
I had a lovely stay at Christines's place and Christine was very welcoming and helpful. This was my first airbnb experience and I just hope future places live up to this one! The room was lovely and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There is a sparkling en-suite and lots of lovely touches like, home-baked mini loaves, gorgeous choclate truffles and good coffee with a cafetiere! The location is great for the West End, with shops, restaurants etc a short stroll away.
Spacious and immaculate room and bathroom, loads of hot water, thoughtful details. Very quiet.
Christine is well organised, friendly and helpful
Christie was a spectacular host who made us feel at home and helped us navigate our transition to Glasgow and made our move here as smooth as it could possible be. She went above and beyond in her recommendations for our travels both in and outside of Glasgow. She even provided us with turn-by-turn directions for a trip into the highlands. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
Christine and Leslie were wonderful hosts. Christine provided helpful information, including flyers, maps, and restaurant suggestions, to make our stay more pleasurable. There location is excellent with easy access to transportation. The room is very quiet and comfortable.
