Welcome to Hong Kong, a buzzing metropolis by day and a neon galaxy by night. There is so much to do and explore and no better place to do it from than Wanchai.

It is the perfect location for you no mater why you have come to Hong Kong.

The Space

Note that the nightly price shown up there➚ doesn't include the one time cleaning fee (I care about cleanliness so I hire a pro) and Airbnb's booking fee. Input your dates and click the 'book it' button to get the total cost of your stay. Ask if you have any questions. :)

My apartment is cozy and well equipped with everything you'll need: soft sheets, fluffy towels, a mini kitchen, bathroom, TV, WiFi, guidebooks, and character. It is ideal for an individual or couple.

Smack in the middle of Hong Kong's shopping and eating centre, our apartment is a fantastic place from which to base yourself during your trip to Hong Kong.

My wife and I had a fun time preparing the apartment for your arrival and we have tried our best to anticipate what you will need during your trip. We are available to help you make the most of your stay!

Did I mention it is in a great location? It's only a:
800 meter walk to the Convention Center
200 meter walk to the MTR (HK's subway system)
900 meter walk to the famous Star Ferry and
right on the HK Tram line

Guest Access

In the studio bedroom/living room you'll find:
a double bed with a brand new very comfortable mattress (a little smaller than doubles in the West, it is 4' x 6'/180cm X 120cm)
a TV (local and international channels - though hopefully you'll be too busy exploring the neighborhood to use it :)
free WiFi (super fast fiber optic network)
a quiet air conditioner
a small space heater
guidebooks

In the Kitchenette you'll find:
a Mini fridge
kitchen utensils
an electric kettle
coffees, teas, snacks and drinks
beer and wine
a washing machine

In the Bathroom you'll find:
Fluffy towels
a hair dryer
220 volt outlets
a plug adapter for your gadgets (not a voltage converter)

Interaction with Guests

The studio space is private– everything in the pictures is yours and yours alone. :-)

I'm happy to give recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants.

The Neighborhood

Causeway Bay and Wanchai are the heart of Hong Kong's consumer culture. Every square inch is filled with shopping malls, department stores, boutiques, market stalls, hole in the wall cafés, international restaurants and banquet halls.

Within walking distance of the apartment, you'll find almost every type of cuisine on the planet as well as the HK must try's: dim sum, roast meats, noodles and congee, cha chan teng (a unique fusion of Chinese/Western food), and snacks and desserts.

If shopping is your thing, you'll find the whole range: From bargains and nicknacks at the Jardine's Crescent street market and Spring Garden Lane, to affordable youth fashion boutiques in Island Beverly Centre, to the tech heaven of the Wanchai Computer Centre, to mid-priced and luxury goods in SOGO and Hysan Place, to the up market fashions found in Lee Gardens, Times Square and Fashion Walk.

You are also right next to Happy Valley, where you can enjoy a beer and watch a horse race on most Wednesdays.

Getting around

It couldn't be easier to get to the apartment from the airport. The A11 bus picks you up at the airport and drops you off just downstairs from the apartment, and gives you great views of the city as you come into town. You can also get to the apartment by Airport Express (high speed train) and taxi.

The apartment is just a 3 minute walk from Wanchai MTR station (our subway system) and is serviced by Hong Kong's classic tramways and many bus lines. The famous Star Ferry is also just a short walk away.

  • The place is centrally located and was perfect for our weekend jaunt.

  • This 9th floor apartment is exactly as advertised. Wan Chai is a great place to stay in Hong Kong. Public transport and connectivity is very easy with the added bonus of tramline. Wanchai ferry will take you to Tsim Sha Tsui which is the shopping district. Alex is a great host. We lost our keys to the apartment, and he promptly organised a duplicate. It feels like your own space rather than a hotel. I would stay there again if going to Hong Kong.

  • Alex is a great host, very organized, helpful and always easy to reach. The apartment is (as all places in Wan Chai) compact at first glance, but surprisingly comfortable for 2 people as space had been very well optimized. Everything was very neat and clean, air conditioner was a life saver and Wi-Fi was fast. Also was pleasantly surprised to find a hair dryer and iron with ironing board which proved useful. Would recommend this place to others.

  • This listing's description matched exactly what I saw and experienced in person. While it's small by American standards, I found the space cozy and the location an excellent spot for food and finding transportation easily. Normally I wouldn't pay this much for a space but I think it was worth the money, and definitely being in a very dense and vertical city such as HK I felt this apartment made me feel like I could (email hidden)'er myself! Haha.

  • Alex was accommodating and let us check in early. We had some trouble finding the apartment on wanchai. After some discussions from the nearby shops we found it. It was a nice space as advertised. We appreciate the free refreshments as a nice welcome touch. We found the apartment got very hot and we had to have the air conditioner on. The problem was the air conditioner was pretty loud. I found it difficult to sleep with the noise. You can lower the fan strength for a lower noise level, but the tradeoff is a warmer room. The location is excellent a very easy walk to the wanchai mrt. The wifi was working on the first day, and then the router wanted a password for the rest of the trip. My friend tried calling Alex and I tried resetting the router with no luck. This made it difficult to get in touch with friends and even tell Alex as the sim card plans are expensive and not tailored for tourist visitors. Th

  • I did fall in love with HK in this studio and loved the proximity and how easy it is to get there from the airport. The bed is comfy, shower works fine, kitchen has was you need. Aircon is a bit noisy but whatever.
Alex let us check in early on arrival and late when we left because nobody else had booked. the place is safe, clean and all you need. thank you Alex.

  • Great stay! Took a few minutes to find the door to the building, but after that was simple. Be advised the elevator is quite small, so will not fit much baggage! Some construction going on across the street, but was not a huge issue. Plenty of towels available, as well as glasses etc. Check in and check out was easy. Alex was easy to contact and had many suggestions for food. Had a small issue with a man smoking in the hallway, but Alex took care of that quickly! Very convenient location, very close to mtr Island line, one stop from transfers to Kowloon side. Closest entrance is Wan Chai exit A3. Thanks Alex!

  • I stay at This place for 2nd time. As always everything was great. Very nice and convenient for 1 or 2 people.

  • I had to travel to HK again, first thing I did was to checkup on Alex's apartment on the dates before I even book my air ticket.
Highly recommended for travelers to stay in 1 of Alex's apartments. They are all super convenient and tastefully decorated. Alex is also super helpful :)

  • Thanks Alex for being there and answering our booking request in flash time with most practical hints to reach the place. Despite the old appearance of the building, the apartment was in good and neat order. The place is comfortable and well organized, maybe just a little bit small for two people. Anyway the accommodation offers good value for money and is located in a strategic position for both business and tourism. Thank you Alex, see you next time!

About
I'm from North Carolina, but I've lived in Hong Kong for 11 years. I love living in and travelling across Asia. You'll usually see me with camera in hand trying to blend in with the local culture, which is difficult for a tall white guy. But, whether I'm treking across a desert or window shopping on high streets, I always love to meet other like minded free spirits. My wife and I have really enjoyed preparing our place to be ready for guests. We hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if there is anything special I can prepare for your trip. :-) As a host, I'll try my best to point out the colorful local scene, and as a guest, I'll I try to leave nothing but good memories. ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈
