The space
Our spacious mother-in-law unit has stunning views of the San Francisco coastline. It's the best of both worlds, we're a low-key surf town with easy access to the beach for surfing, watching the sunsets and working on your sandcastle skills, but it's only a 15 minute drive to San Francisco and its culture, scenery and many great neighborhoods filled with restaurants, parks, music venues, museums, galleries and more.

This is a fully furnished unit, so just bring yourselves, clothes, groceries and toiletries, we supply everything else. The kitchen is fully stocked with stainless steel pots and pans, ceramic dishes and glassware, all the kitchen necessities for you to make everything from homecooked meals to a quick bagel to go with your morning cup of coffee.

Our beautiful bathroom is a bit on the petite side.

The bedroom has a king sized bed for all those lazy mornings spent nestled up with a book and a perfect view out the windows. The very spacious living room has a queen sized bed on a platform behind the couch. There is also a triple fold futon mattress and bedding for the couch, so you'll be able to comfortably sleep four to six people here.

Guest access
This cozy and comfy mother-in-law apartment is built on top of our detached garage. The only access to the house is via a full flight of stairs, so those with mobility issues should take this into consideration. The home has no noise from nearby neighbors. You will sleep in complete quiet and relaxation with the fresh air and views of the ocean. Views from both large beds, the dining area, and the living area. You can see the San Francisco City Lights and the coast lights as well; and the Golden Gate Bridge from the whole unit, not to mention the day and by night lit up fishing boats, and seasonal giant waves, surfers, skiff-fishers, breaching whales, swarms of sea birds, pelicans and cormorants, sailboats, and giant ocean going ships passing by on their way to and from the Golden Gate Entrance to the San Francisco Bay; as well as international and domestic airplanes plying the Pacific all the way to the bottom of the Americas, the South Pacific, the Equatorial islands, and the North Pacific, Alaska, and South East and Mainland Asia.

Tiny to giant birds of many varied feathers, of both land and ocean species, enjoy the hillside that you will be at the near top of, watching them inhabit the sky and ride the air currents for their own relaxation or their hunt for food; especially the water diving ones. Our house is like living in National Geographic 24/7/365.

Other things to note
A few minutes drive and you are in the sand on the beach, a romantic walk along the shore among fishermen, every variety of surfers, and tons of sea birds. The local people have fishing docks and cottages dating back about 100 years right below us; and Cabo San Pedro is the site of former importation of things that arrived in the night in the old days of Prohibition and the young days of vagabond rogues of the modern seas.

The seafood in San Francisco is world renowned: local Dungeness crab, salmon, oysters, snapper, abalone, and Crab Cioppino and San Francisco’s (only Boudin Bakery) Sour Dough Bread whether take out or a sit down with a San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz view at San Francisco’s many Fisherman’s Wharf restaurants and Pier 39; or similar south of here and close the Princeton by the Sea and Pillar Point Harbor and Half Moon Bay shoreline just 10 to 15 minutes away.

My family has such a very special place here on Pedro Point. It makes me so very happy to get to share it with others. I'm a photographer and an artist and I travel a lot for work. My last big trip was to Spain, where I finally got to see Barcelona. It had been my dream for the last 25 years. So beautiful! When I'm not in the darkroom our traveling, I spend lots of time with my daughter. We love to cook together and go for walks, looking for new kinds of flowers.

Often you'll see others who live on our street out walking or exercising and enjoying the beauty of our Pedro Point neighborhood in Pacifica. Our street is a "No Through Traffic" street, so there are very few cars passing by day or night, mostly just the neighbors. Feel safe in that the neighbors all keep an eye on each other and properties and vehicles. In our friendly neighborhood, strangers are rare and visitors are welcome.
