Great renovated 2 Bedroom (one queen bed and one twin bed) one bath apartment near FSU & FAMU Campus and about one mile from the Capitol, but tucked away in quiet neighborhood. Has cable TV with wireless internet. Walking distance to FSU stadium.
Great completely renovated 2 Bedroom (one queen bed and one twin bed) one bath apartment near FSU & FAMU Campus and about one mile from the Capitol. Has cable TV with wireless internet and thousands of movies via Netflix and Hulu (and lots of other online stations on Roku), central air and heat, gourmet kitchen with granite countertop and gas stove. Shower has chlorine filter and huge showerhead. Tankless water heater means showers can last as long as you like. The queen bed is super comfortable Simmons Beautyrest and you will sleep amazingly well on it.
Our ground floor apartment is within walking distance of the FSU football stadium, but is in a secluded eclectic neighborhood filled with big live oaks and pecan trees, and is adjacent to Lake Elberta, with a nice walking trail. This is NOT a college student complex. Most of the residents own their units and work during the day, so it is very quiet. I have a nice assortment of dishes and cookware, there are plenty of clean towels, and the beds are freshly made up with cotton sheets and pillowcases. Just added an ironing board and iron for your use. I have also provided a french coffee press and coffee.
You can sit out on your private porch and watch the birds and the sunset. There is a coin laundry in the condo complex and a community center that can be rented for meetings and gatherings. Apartment is very clean, and was completely renovated in 2008. Two big closets, and lots of storage. No pets or smoking is allowed. Floors are painted concrete.
Our apartment is close to Gaines Street and Railroad Avenue (lots of good locally owned restaurants) and Railroad Square Art Park--center of Tallahassee's art scene. But Tallahassee is unfortunately not yet a great walkable city and you will probably like having a car to get to most shopping, dining, and attractions.
Great place for bicycles. It's right next to St Marks Trail and Lake Elberta.
Guests will have access to community laundry and can use picnic table on the grounds. Be sure to check out the GUIDEBOOK tab on this listing page for suggestions of where to eat and visit while staying here. Can see the locations on a map. Most listings are in the area.
Stearns Mosely Neighborhood is a tree lined oasis quiet and tucked away from the bustle of Gaines Street, but just a couple of blocks. It is an easy walk (less than 1 mile) to the FSU football stadium.
There is a bus line about three blocks from the apartment, but Tallahassee buses come by only about twice an hour, except for one line that runs every 20 minutes on weekend nights. Apartment is about one mile from FSU but you might want a car to get around town.
Be sure to check the Guidebook I prepared for things to do and places to shop and eat in the area. Just opened, and not yet on the Guidebook, is College Town, just a few blocks away, which features bars and restaurants--bagels, pizza, sushi and more.

Ruth's place was comfortable, convenient, and clean-- perfect for a week long stay in Tallahassee.
Here is definitely a good place do stay. I lived here for a two months and come to FSU by walking. This place is very quiet e the neighbors are very friendly. Save yours quarter coins, you will need use a lot at laundry. (1 USD to dryer and 1,50 USD to washer). I recommend this place. Thanks Ruth, you are very attentions.
Fine apartment near downtown, FSU & FAMU. Has everything you need, Ruth is easy to contact & responsive. You need a car as it's in Florida! Easy parking. GPS will take you there. Will stay again for sure.
Ruth is the perfect host. She immediately responded to messages and was a great practical help from beginning to end. Making sure there was cooled water in the fridge and a fresh batch of home-grown oranges in the fruit bowl, she did more than I could possibly expect. She even sent me updates on local events. If you need to go to FSU, which was the purpose of my visit, the apartment is ideally located, within 15 minutes walking distance of campus. On the way, you can pick up breakfast in the Madison Street area, where you'll find a few restaurants as well. I can't say much about the kitchen except that it looked well-equipped and clean. I mostly ate out with friends, only coming back to the apartment to sleep. There's a railroad crossing not far away but it didn't bother me at night. The main bedroom is quiet and dark. If you're traveling alone, you can well use the extra bedroom as a working space. Also the bathroom was clean and very adequate. Thanks Ruth, for a pleasant stay!
Ms. Ruth was a great host! She was very accommodating when our plans for a reunion for 3 turned into 6! Her apartment was exactly what we needed and was walking distance to the stadium! We would definitely consider her apartment again for any football weekends in the future!
Ruth's apartment is fantastic! It's clean, has anything you need, and is in the perfect location if you're visiting FSU as we were. Ruth is extremely quick to respond and is happy to help with anything you need throughout your stay. We truly enjoyed the experience of renting with her.
Ruth was a great host. Communication was great! She even drove to our son's dorm prior to our arrival to give him the keys. There were bagels and cream cheese in the fridge, which was a nice gesture. The apartment is within walking distance of FSU, which turned out great as we were able to walk to the stadium on game day. Thank you for allowing us in your home!
Nice place close to campus, which was ideal. Ruth was a great host, very responsive, and provided everything we needed. The until was clean, and modest. I would stay there again.
We found this apartment to be exactly what we needed for our stay in Tallahassee on this visit. The interior is well-kept, with some modern touches and rustic charm. We made use of the gas stove - a welcomed treat for us - and we have some ideas to take back with us home, like updates for the shower. The Wharton's have put just about everything you could need in the place (bed and bath gear, kitchen ware, etc.). The complex is in a sleepy, hidden part of town and the people seem to be a close community that was accepting of us as visitors. As long as you get back before 11pm at night, parking is readily available. It is a perfect stay for bicyclists, hikers, and the outdoorsy that find it easy to mix it up with other people of all types. We walked to both the FSU and FAMU campuses within minutes. The next time we are looking to go to Tallahassee, we'll look up Ruth again.
I recently rented Ruth’s apartment for my parent’s stay in Tallahassee and they thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. Ruth is very responsive and flexible, working with my parent’s late arrival into town. I actually enjoyed the units shower as well even though I did not stay in the unit with my parents and the bagels were yummm too. Thanks Ruth once again!!!
