Interaction with Guests
I enjoy sharing experiences with guests, but since this is A complete apartment, I might not have the chance to meet you. We don't run into each other feel free to E-mail or call me and I will stop by when you have a minute.
Situated between the Castro and Cole Valley, my neighborhood is close enough and to see and do everything, well-connected by public transportation get a comfortable distance from the hurly-burly to offer some quiet streets.
The Castro’s vibrant culture and colorful streetscapes have long been a source of San Francisco PRIDE. Buzzing with life and activity, the Castro’s flamboyant bars and restaurants, glittering shops, and historical theaters comprise its endearingly unapologetic attitude. Although this neighborhood is considered San Francisco’s gay-friendly epicenter, all are invited to experience the Castro’s unabashed zest for life.
Strolling Cole Valley’s tree-lined streets often leads to a postcard-worthy afternoon. It's easy to spend a day admiring this idyllic neighborhood’s Victorian architecture and snacking at its cozy cafes and charming restaurants. Cole Valley’s proximity to Golden Gate Park and Haight-Ashbury promises countless options for wholesome fun and eclectic entertainment.
Location and access to public transport are very important; there are two bus lines right on the corner, going downhill the 33 takes you to the vibrant Castro, the Mission district, Bart, and Portrero hill. Going the other way it takes you to the Haight (old hippy hangout), Golden Gate park and the Richmond district. The 37 bus downhill takes you to the Muni underground at Castro and Mission, the Castro, the Safeway on Church then back to the Haight.
Other Things to Note
There is no parking provided. However, street parking is easy to find and free in our neighborhood, you can almost always find a spot within one or two blocks of the building. In most parts of the city, you must have a sticker to park more than a few hours. Here you don't need a sticker and you can park your car and leave it, the only restriction is it must be moved every three days and for street cleaning two hours per week. Signs are clearly posted telling you the times for street cleaning. Other things to remember about parking in San Francisco, never block a driveway or you will be ticketed or towed and remember if you are parking on Ahill you must turn your wheels all the way to the left if you are pointing uphill or all the way to the right if you are pointing downhill.
There is one flight of stairs to get to the apartment.
1. Smoke-free house, no exceptions.

John meet us when we arrived. He told us the details of the unit and the neighborhood. The Unit is very clean and has everything we expected. My 9 years daughter immediately loved the bed under the stairs. The location is perfect for us. We walked to Twin Peaks one morning, and to Castro the other morning. It is also easy to take bus to Fishman's Wharf. We have our car, and it is easy to find free street parking in the area.
This is a great listing. Access was easy and clear. The place was clean with lots of room. John was a great communicator and incredibly responsive to my last minute booking. Would certainly recommend.
A wonderful experience! John was a great host and provided us with everything that we needed- bus info, grocers, restaurants and sites to see. This place is conveniently close to the bus stop! But my friends and I just walked everywhere for the most part and zip cars aren't too far off either. My friends and I enjoyed the Castro area- full of energy and the neighborhood is safe, quiet and really nice, especially for a set of 3 petite girls.
Another great stay during my recent trip back to SF. This apartment is so amazing, I actually book my trips based on it's availability. :) Thanks John for sharing such an amazing apartment!
Beautiful and spacious space that fit four comfortably! Area is quiet but did hear the occasional noise from the upstairs neighbors. That was not bothersome though. We knew and were going to abide by the host's "no noise after midnight" rule but the host knocked at 11:45 to remind us. This was a bit disconcerting but I'll let that pass. Location is not one that is easily walkable to but we were able to lyft or uber easily so it was not a bother.
Fantastic location. John was very accommodating, allowing for a late check out as we had a late flight out. The place is fantastic and it's well equipped with anything you need.
Transport was very close and the neighborhood is amazing with a great location for easy access to all that SF has to offer.
