This property is absolutely beautiful, and was a joy for my husband and I to visit on a relaxing weekend getaway. Melissa was an incredible host! She was a clear and prompt communicator, not only answering all of my questions and responding to inquiries, but also going above and beyond by providing me with some truly wonderful recommendations in the area. Melissa was sweet-as-can-be both on the phone and over email; I have yet to meet a more gracious airbnb host. We loved both her cabin and Wimberley and hope to return sometime!
We came for a long weekend vacation from south Texas, anticipating some scenery (beautiful hills!), relaxation (hot tub? Yes please.), and privacy (yay for the woods and appropriately placed fences!). El Sol is exactly as listed, and we were certainly not disappointed.
Melissa has thought of everything, y'all. We had a handwritten welcome note, fresh bedding/towels, and all sorts of informational brochures for us non-local folks about what to do in the area. The kitchen had everything we needed, including tin foil we had forgotten to pack for a very important grilling adventure. There's a gigantic tank of rain water out back that supplies all the water for the cabin. How cool is that?!
Our dog, Tito, was also a welcomed guest...He sure had a good time too!
The photos did not do this place justice. Such a wonderful little cabin. Seclusion. Hot tub. Grill. I will absolutely be back. Little things like enough towels and kleenex and even soap. Just beautiful. Will definitely be back.
I'm not a "mountain" person. After staying at El Sol Cabin, I found I'm a "Hill Country" person. Our trip consisted of 2 nights in Austin and 2 in the El Sol Cabin. Austin was fantastic but El Sol Cabin and Hill Country were the best. The cabin was close enough to the places and small towns we wanted to explore (on average 30 minutes of great views-about 10 minutes to downtown Wimberley) but far enough away to feel remote. We knew there were cabins near us but we felt like it was our own private hill. Wimberley was quaint, Greune and Greune Hall was Texas-type fun, and driving between places was absolutely beautiful. We will be back and we hope to stay at El Sol again soon!
We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and solitude. Our cabin was lovely, including everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We brought some groceries and found it easy to cook--all the utensils and appliances we needed. The hot tub is wonderful, great views of the stars away from urban lights. We played horseshoes, watched a movie, and just sat outside. Drive into Wimberley was quick and easy for shopping and restaurants. We hope to be back!
I've been dreaming of staying in a log cabin for the past 20 years after a teenage love affair with Northern Exposure. Despite the lack of snow-peaked mountains, the El Sol cabin surpassed all expectations. My husband and I fell in love with everything about it - rocking chairs on the veranda, beautiful views, sundowners while watching the local grey fox, waking to foraging deer. The cabin is spacious, spotless and beautifully designed. Melissa was brilliant - incredibly helpful and on hand to answer all our queries. A perfect place to stay.
We loved El Sol cabin. It is located in a beautiful, secluded wooded setting, yet close to nice shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The cabin is spacious, beautifully crafted and organized for a very relaxing vacation. Melissa has made the reservation and check-in process very easy. And Melissa gracefully accommodated our last minute changes. We highly recommend this wonderful cabin.
Beautiful cabin, my wife and I were there for her birthday. Perfect for a romantic getaway, just bring a bottle of champagne and some food to grill! :)
Convenient to wimberley yet very secluded. Saw sone deer as soon as we arrived. There was another cabin nearby but you couldn't see it. Exactly as described, hot tub, campfire, hammock, grill, full kitchen, nice walk in shower with hot water.
The gravel road leading up to the cabin is naturally a little rough, no issues in my wife's xterra and most cars should be fine but just in case I wouldn't recommend attempting it in a low riding sports car (glad I didn't drive my 350z!).
Awesome getaway place and being less than an hour drive from Austin area there's no reason why you shouldn't try it! We will definitely be back.
El Sol was exactly as advertised. The cabin was clean, well-appointed, and fully functional. The bed and linens were comfortable, the kitchen had enough equipment to be able to cook, there were heaters and A/C units to ensure comfort, depending on the weather. The location is convenient to Wimberley, TX, where we were attending a wedding.
We never used the hot tub, but previous guests waxed eloquent about it. We did use the hammock, enjoying chatting with each other in the dappled sunlight, while warm breezes lifted our word to each other's ears.
We accidentally broke a dish and called Melissa to report it and ask how much money to leave for her. Her response was gracious and generous. She was extremely pleasant on the phone.
If I had occasion to be in Wimberley in the future, I would not hesitate to rent from Melissa again.
Beautiful place, super vlean. We spent two nights there and never left the place, for we had everything we needed - hot tub, grill, outdoor eating, watching movies at night, building fires, rainwater to drink (wow how yummy) and shower in (wow how soothing!). The bathroom is beautiful. Super private, great views, well appointed, Melissa has thought of many great details, from supplying multiple hooks in the bathroom to ample firewood to lots of cooking tools. Booking with her was ease-full and she was very responsive to any questions we asked. Thank you Melissa, we'll be back!
