People who visit Alberta's little all-season town of Canmore (pop. 12,000) have big expectations. Once a coal town, Canmore gained notoriety during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, and it’s been booming ever since as a recreational hot spot.
Just 70 miles from Calgary, Canmore is nestled in Alberta's Bow Valley, surrounded by mountains and wildlife. It's the perfect locale for fishing, climbing, canoeing, all kinds of winter sports, and more. Banff National Park is approximately 7.5 miles from your resort, and world-famous Lake Louise is a little more than an hour's drive away.
If you want to take it easy, take a stroll through the quaint town. Its main street is home to galleries where painters, quilters, stained-glass artisans, and blacksmiths can be found at work. Or just relax in one of Canmore's many charming pubs or restaurants near your resort. With a little luck, you may even see a Hollywood film being shot here.
A Passport or Enhanced ID is needed for entry into Canada.

The Columbia Icefield, about 210 kilometers from Canmore along the scenic Icefields Parkway, is one of the largest blocks of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. It rests on the boundary between Banff and Jasper National Parks, a 325-square-kilometer family of eight major glaciers, all visible from Icefields Parkway.

Other Things to Note
Since I probably won't be there personally, the resort requires guests to provide a refundable $100 security deposit that can be held with a credit card.
Be respectful to both property and management.
The place is located in a quiet and beautiful spot, with easy access. The apartment is very clean. If you'd like to cook, I would say it has the best kitchen. Great service! I would like to recommend it to anybody who want to visit Banff area!
This was my first time to Canada and my husband and i were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room, as well as the location. Canmore is a beautiful, quaint town and we were lucky to be so close to so many things; plus, we were about 5 min outside the national park!
A personalized card was in the room to welcome us and the staff were accommodating and informative about places to visit and eat.
This was our first AirBNB booking and we were a little wary, but the experience was great.
Great response time on our short notice booking and the check in was seamless. The resort has a 24 hour desk and there were no problems with our reservation.
If anything, it was better than expected. The room was much nicer than the pictures presented and the resort had many small touches to make our stay comfortable. On the night of our check in they were hosting a movie night in the media room for all guests. Just a really nice touch but we opted for the hot tub instead.
Thanks for a great first experience!
This is the second time we have stayed at one of Rey's units in the same month. Once again he made us feel very welcome and his response to my many questions over the holiday period was fantastic. He quickly sorted out the extension to our stay when we had some trouble doing it ourselves. The unit was clean, well equipped and ideal for my wife and I. I cannot thank Rey enough.
Rey was an excellent host. He was very responsive to all communication. The place was exactly as described. The view and neighboring hiking trails were amazing. Will definitely be back here in the future.
We had a very nice room at the Canmore-Banff resort - it was much bigger than expected for a studio. We were a little disappointed with the view from our room - we were hoping for a mountain view, but were on the ground level facing the parking lot, so really couldn't open our blinds at all. Rey was great to deal with, though the front desk person left a little to be desired in the friendliness department. There is no ice machine, vending machines or food of any sort, and it's not particularly close to any restaurants (took us a little under 30 minutes to walk to downtown). The front desk told us there was an ice machine in our freezer, but it didn't work, so we were lacking for in-room drinks and snacks. Overall, it was a very nice place. Just not all the amenities we are used to.
