About This Listing
Quiet village location approx 5 miles [8 Km] south of the stunning World Heritage Site of Durham City
We have a 4 Bedroom Detached House on two storeys in the conservation village of Hett
On offer at a glance all year round:-
Twin Room upstairs looking out over the village green and with a small Television, DVD player and Free WiFi. We provide all the bed linen, quilts, and pillows you will need
Bathroom next to the bedroom on the same level with over the bath shower. This bathroom is mostly yours as we have an en-suite. We provide towels
We have a living room / study with a settee and TV also upstairs facing south over open country. We use this room if we are working at home during the day, but this is rarely the case in the evening and so then you are welcome to use this room as well, to stretch out, sit comfortably and enjoy the TV
At certain times of the year, for example during University Graduations and at the start and end of terms, we may be able to offer a second bedroom to the same family or group of friends and we may be able to suggest a special price for the whole family or friends group
There is cupboard and fridge space in our kitchen downstairs and you are welcome to cook and eat in our kitchen
We do not provide meals, but nor do we lock away the tea, coffee, milk and sugar! There will also be a selection of cereals so you can help yourself to breakfast
If the weather is nice you might also like to share our south facing back garden with patio, tables and chairs
There is no public transport in Hett. The nearest bus stop is a 15 minute walk along an unlit country road
We are not in Durham City. We are not in a suburb of Durham City. Our pricing reflects this.

Welcome to our home !
When you arrive please park on our drive and we`ll sort it with you from there
There is coat peg and shoe rack space in the porch for guests to please leave coats and outdoor shoes downstairs and we ask you to not wheel luggage over the carpets
The WiFi key together with Instructions for the TVs are in a folder left prominently in the room and in the study. If you get stuck we will show you how!
The breakfast cereals, which we invite you to help yourself to, all show the manufacturer`s information on ingredients, allegies and intolerances. If after reading this information you are not sure if any product is suitable for you then our advice is that you don`t eat it
We try to present your room at a comfortable temperature, but please feel free to turn the radiator up or down and to open the windows. There will be a key in one or other of the windows and it will work in both. The windows can be opened just "on the latch" or wider if you prefer. When you go out then please lock the windows, either on the latch or completely closed
We continue to put together local information in the folders in your room and in the study and we are always happy to talk........or to give you space as you wish
Otherwise it`s simply no Smoking and no Pets, and please just be considerate to ourselves and to our valued neighbours
Thank you and welcome to our home !
WONDERFUL hospitality as always and a really comfortable, home from home stay with Kate and Mike
This was my first airbnb experience and I'm pleased to say it was great! The house was immaculate, the bed was very comfy and my hosts gave me a warm welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Kate made us feel very welcome and was very helpful about information before we arrived too. Lovely and clean and comfortable just right for our one night stay and good to have access to breakfast cereals, toast and tea. Would definitely go back again.
Fabulous accommodation. Thanks to Mike and Kate for making me feel so 'at home'.
Great hosts and lovely accommodation. I received a warm welcome on a cold and snowy evening. Fabulous!
The neighbourhood is quiet. I would Highly Recommend.
