About this listing

Enjoy our comfortable, cozy guest room in the Mueller development, convenient to the airport, Dell Children's, UT, downtown and all the music festivals. Make yourself at home!

The space

Welcome to Austin! Situated among hike and bike trails, eateries and lakes, Mueller is a great base from which to explore the city. We're 4 miles from downtown, with easy access by car, bus or bike.

We offer a guest bedroom with private bathroom immediately outside the bedroom door. The bedroom has one antique double-sized bed and a mid-century low steel cabinet that functions as a night stand. We have reading lamps on both sides of the bed along with a leather arm chair and floor lamp. Please note that a double bed is smaller than a queen, but can comfortably sleep two people who are accustomed to a double bed.

Coffee and tea are available in the morning. Closet space is available in guest bedroom. The bathroom is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and miscellaneous essentials. A hair dryer, iron, ironing board, washer and dryer are also available to you.

For nearby dining, we recommend visiting Contigo, which is within walking distance. Other favorites within walking distance are the Salty Sow and East Side Cafe (both on Manor Road).

We are also within walking distance of Cherrywood Coffee House [38th street] and Thunderbird Coffee [Manor Road].

We are bicycle, runner and triathlete friendly. We are happy to provide running maps, swimming information, and road and off road cycling routes.

Elizabeth and Mark are a delightful couple who made my stay at their Mueller home a great experience. The bedroom is cozy and private, and everything in the house is in great condition. Mark gave me tons of tips on how to experience Austin. The home is on a very quiet street, yet it's a short walk to a terrific Irish pub, movie theater, and plenty more.

My stay at Elizabeth and Mark's home far exceeded my expectations. Their home was IMMACULATE and they were so incredibly accommodating. When we arrived on our first day, there were fresh cookies on the counter, along with local publications featuring things to do and places to eat in Austin. There was a basket of goodies on one of the nightstands and a basket of toiletries in the bathroom. Elizabeth and Mark made coffee every morning and put out scones and muffins and delicious spreads. They were available whenever we needed to get in touch, and they were so friendly and trusting. I wish there were more stars available, because my stay in this home was beyond anything I could have hoped for. It was cozy, clean and welcoming place to stay and I 100% recommend it to anyone traveling from out of town.

Great little room in a nice, quiet neighborhood! We were able to easily drive to destinations throughout Austin and enjoy relaxing evenings in the room. We had no problems, and Mark gave us some really good suggestions on where we could go off and explore.

Elizabeth: I am a nonprofit professional who is passionate about making a difference, improving my community and living life to the fullest. I enjoy entertaining, cycling, running, traveling and exploring cities on foot.

Mark: I am a designer with a passion for mountain and road biking. If you are interested in biking in Austin or surrounding areas, I can set you up with routes, assist with bike tune ups, and top off your tires.

We enjoy hosting people and sharing our city. We've had guests from as far away as the Ukraine and Kazakhstan and love introducing people to all that Austin has to offer - from local cuisine, art and Texas history to music, hiking and the University of Texas.
