Within Holland, Michigan's Historic District shines this jewel of a cottage; carefully cleaned and ready to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Whether on business, visiting family & friends, or looking for a launching pad for a week or more of West Michigan adventure, this is the rental for you! Located just blocks from Lake Macatawa, acclaimed Holland Downtown shopping, breweries, restaurants, galleries, and Farmers' Market.

The space
This 1895 Victorian maintains its historic Holland flavor, but is completely renovated and modernized with craftsman charm: home boasts a gourmet chef's kitchen with granite, hardwood floors and custom oak trim throughout, handcrafted oak spiral staircase, central air and a tiled bathroom with jetted tub. The impeccably clean and spacious home has one queen and two twin beds waiting for you with fresh linens, and towels and spare toiletries are also provided. You will find the home fully stocked with all of the cookware, dishware, napkins, and pantry items (salt, pepper, oil, spices, etc.) you need to make budget-friendly meals- when you are not out on the town enjoying our fine local restaurants! Enjoy a cup of coffee with beans on the house as you plan your day of adventure at our kitchen island or relax in the living room and browse our travel guides. Unwind after a day of adventures with a movie on our LED 3D smart TV- Wifi equipped for your Netflix account, along with cable television stations. The home features dual zone heating and airconditioning, and an adjustable heated living room floor, so you'll be comfortable year round. Make use of the porch rockers and patio furniture and grill to enjoy some time outside in the neighborhood.

We know it is hard enough to pack for travel as a family, so for those with young children, ask about our pack n play, highchair and other infant accessories available upon request.

Perfect for Hope College parents- down the street from campus! Half block from Tulip Lane and one and a half from Parade route! Park at the home and walk to the festivities! If you are here to enjoy even more of the splendor Holland has to offer, the cottage is a short drive from Big Red Lighthouse, Holland State Park and Dutch Village, and is a midway launch point to the nearby villages of Saugatuck/Douglas and the vacation offerings of Grand Haven, as well. Just over a half hour from Grand Rapids, this home is an easy commute from the Gerald R. Ford airport and G.R.'s downtown activities (Art Prize, DeVos Hall, VanAndall Arena, etc.). Enjoy the city and experience the Lakeshore in one trip!

During your stay, please browse our Holland Visitor guide and area maps showcasing the areas' best, as reviewed by longtime Holland residents. We will work with you to customize your stay to your individual needs. We invite you to join our family of delighted Cobblestone Cottage guests!

About the owners: Lifelong Holland residents and high school sweethearts have owned this home together since their marriage in 2002. The home was lovingly (well, mostly lovingly) renovated by this engineer and artist, and welcomed each of their six children in the years to follow! So full of memories and craftsmanship, the home was deemed too precious to sell. When the family moved nearby for the necessary extra bedrooms (and bathroom) (ok, and Lake Michigan views), the Cobblestone Cottage vacation rental was born! The home is surrounded by neighbors known and loved by the family, and your rental allows the family to still roam the streets of their nostalgic first home. Thank you!

Guest access
Entire house and grounds, except garage.

Other things to note
Please note that the 1 bathroom is on the main floor, and all the beds are on the 2nd level.
The queen bed is in a separate bedroom off the main upstairs loft. The twin beds are in the loft, and not in their own official 'bedroom' as the loft lacks its own door and is open to the staircase balcony.

I'm an easily recognizable figure around town- just look for the tall, curly-haired woman with 9 kids in tow! I am a lifelong West Michigan resident, former elementary school teacher, amateur artist and homeschooling mother of 9. I like to spend my time at the beach, especially hiking through the wondrous dune system on our Lakeshore. Travel is a little complicated these days with the whole family, so we prefer to make adventures in our hometown and live like we are on vacation! We also camp, go to music festivals, and sometimes Ambrose and I make it out to our honeymoon house in Arizona. Having found Airbnb now, I am developing quite the wish list - so much easier to travel with a nice house to use as a family launching pad! Food is another passion- I love sweets but try to focus on healthy family eating. My family has been painting and selling pumpkins at our local Farmer's market since I was a child. My own kids are taking on the family business now, too! I used to teach 5th grade and am an elementary education graduate from St. Mary's College. I now spend most of my time homeschooling and managing my household of 11. The opportunities I've had in hosting guests from around our country and our world have been enriching and impactful. I love being an Airbnb host and advocate for private property rights and community building through meaningful host/guest connections.
