Fortuna was an impeccable host! My husband and I stayed almost a month in the "mini-loft" and couldn't have asked for more. Any and all questions were promptly answered and the loft was beautiful and comfortable. The loft is sort of offset from the rest of the property and your privacy is completely respected. Everything you'd need for an extended stay is included. Street parking is really easy and Echo Park is awesome. Really couldn't recommend this place more. We wanted to move in...
My wife and I stayed in the mini loft for two months and overall, had a lovely experience.
The loft is comfortable and has its own private entrance behind the main house. It is equipped with everything necessary for your stay (including towels and linens) and had plenty of storage space for the two of us. The hosts were very friendly and responsive to all of our needs during our stay. They have a laundry room in the main house shared by all guests.
The loft's private patio faces a shared driveway so there is quite a bit of back and forth by the neighbors resulting in a bit of a privacy issue.
The neighborhood is very unique and convenient to Downtown LA, Echo Park, Silverlake, etc. with plenty of street parking.
Overall, great stay!
It's a really cool property on a charming street in a great part of Echo Park. There was ample free street parking and the hosts were very friendly and flexible when we arrived later than expected on new years eve and also needed to have several large packages delivered. It's walkable to a few nice places to eat and easy access to downtown and a few freeways.
The living space itself was good, not great. We happened to be staying there in the winter and it had no heat (which I'm sure is common in LA) and the windows didn't close all the way so it was cold and drafty the first few days (though the hosts did provide space heaters and extra blankets when requested). It's also on the back of the property and covered by trees so it gets basically no sun and the lighting inside is dim, so it felt a bit dank and dark. We were traveling with our cat, which they were gracious enough to let us do (and even gave us cat food when we checked in!), but because most of the windows didn't latch/close all the way and had no screens, we had to keep them shut at all times which made it stuffy once LA warmed up a bit. We were also surprised by quite a few spiders during our stay!
In general, I would recommend this place!
Hi Fortuna, I had a wonderful stay at your place with everything I needed to feel welcomed and well taken care of. Your loft is absolutely lovely and I felt like at home right away.
I can't wait to come back at my next travel and see how you are all doing. Take care.
I had a superb stay. The place is beautiful and the hosts are super friendly and responsive. It was great.
This is a very nice loft/studio space in a great location. My wife and I stayed for four days to visit family in the area and it worked well for us. Unfortunately our stay happened to hit on a very hot few days in LA. We had table fans available but no AC so it was a bit uncomfortable but not too bad. We were offered an apartment in the adjoining big house but we stayed in the loft. We appreciated the option.
If you're getting up in years (as we are) and tend to get up in the night to use the toilet please know that there is a step down in the concrete floor on the way to the bathroom so leave the light on for nighttime navigation. Also, for older visitors, the bed is low and handles in the bathroom for exiting the shower would be helpful.
Fortuna, our host, was very welcoming and took good care of us.
Overall, I'd say it's a great space for younger guests but not ideal for people over 50.
I enjoyed staying in the mini loft very much! Everything I needed was provided and the hosts would ask me from time to time if they could provide me with anything. They were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, yet were respectful of my privacy as well. The location had a beautiful view of downtown LA and was walking distance to Echo Park Lake with its lotus flowers, pedestrian walk-way and palm trees.
Our stay at the Mini-loft w/ private patio was fantastic! The place was very clean, nicely decorated, and super comfortable. The amenities (kitchen, wireless internet, access to laundry) were perfect for our needs. The host was very responsive and available for questions. We loved our stay and would definitely go back next time we are in LA!
