About this listing

*note: I prefer stays of 1-3 months, but will happily consider shorter stays of 2+ days.
My house kinda' represents Old School South Austin in the most coveted zip code. Still hip and weird, but a dying breed my pier and beam house built in '51 is on an acre lot that's still a little 'wild' in some parts. Convenient for most stays as it is close to downtown, SoCo, and most festivals.

The space

Sunny little bedroom in south Austin home. There's a comfy queen bed, an empty dresser and room in the closet so you can settle in. The bathroom is shared by me for shower purposes. I have a toilet upstairs in my bedroom area. All guests are welcome to use the office space as much as they like. The shared living area has an HD TV with 'premium' cable and Roku streaming. I share my home with 2 cats. Generally, they amuse and don't bother. This full acre property has WiFi, off street parking, and a terrific double patio 'breezeway'. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor living spaces. Here you can chill, listen to music, have a glass of wine or quaff a beer on a warm afternoon. We are three short blocks from the nearest bus stop with a 7 min. ride to Auditorium Shores and 10 min. to downtown and the Convention Center. We're also 9 blocks from S Congress bus with a 5 min. ride to all the SOCO attractions. I might be available for airport pick-up / drop-off (about 12 ride) if needed for a nominal charge. My house and I are both a work in progress. I have not yet completed all the intended renovations, but there's nothing that would make one uncomfortable. I am open to any questions or special requests you may have to make your stay in Austin as fabulous as possible.

Hi there. In general, I really just require common courtesy. I feel most comfortable with a free flow of communication with my guests about schedules, needs and anything else that fosters a harmonious cohabitation. I also require ecologically minded compliance when it comes to recycling, composting, and water and electrical use. Simply put, just throw recyclables in the bin and don't leave stuff on when not in use, etc... I would also prefer someone who does not have a noisy morning routine ( late night doesn't bother me).

The bedroom and bathroom are exactly as shown in the photos. Clean and comfortable. The outside is a bit cluttered and looks a bit like a yard sale, but inside is fine. Lenore is available and accommodating. She will make great recommendations for food and happy hour places. Be aware that you will be sharing the bathroom with the host and there are two cats.

What an amazing experience this was. Fell in love with Austin, Lenore and her beautiful abode. Was in Town for a film festival at Alamo Drafthouse. This was an amazing location. Walking/biking distance to everything I needed. Great food/drinks nearby. Lenore will lead you in the right direction for everything you need, especially tips on the best happy hours in town. Her neighbors are awesome. Her cats are awesome. She was awesome. Not to mention she keeps the place clean and fresh. Loved my bedroom. This was the best AirB&B experience I've ever had. Thanks Lenore!!

Lenore is a gracious host! I was looking for an apartment in Austin and I found a suitable place on the second day, so I only stayed here for one night. But, from my short stay, I can say that it's a great house in a great location and you couldn't ask for a better host than Lenore!

Lenore is wonderful. An absolute host in every sense of it. She is welcoming, personable and cares that you feel comfortable during your stay. The room looks exactly like it does in the picture. The home is about a 5-10 minute drive to downtown, so it made getting around easy. I'd definitely recommend staying here. The house and Lenore has style and personality and gives a true taste of Austin!

Lenore was a Godsend. I found out my apartment had black mold and I had to vacate immediately. She accommodated my, very late in the evening, same day request. She opened up her home for me and my 10 day wait on a new apartment. The place was clean, comfortable (bed super comfortable) and well organized. The company of her and her two lovely felines were an added bonus. I'm grateful to her and Air B&B for a low cost solution, to one of life's many curve balls!

Lenore made sure that I had everything possible that I needed right when I got in. She was delightful to stay with, and has an amazing location for doing anything in Austin. She also happens to be an excellent cook, and she is always willing to share.

This was a quality host in every sense. She took time to be there on arrival, give a tour, explain the rules/requirements of the house. She was warm and welcoming, fun to spend some time with in her beautiful back yard with her fun cats. Was generous with conversation, a delicious smoothie and a glass of wine. Being a foodie, she gave perfect advice on local eats. She offered rides a couple of times. The house is beautiful, the bedroom is a gem. One morning I slept till 10:30 with the windows open not realizing the time since it was so calm and quiet. Honestly... I didn't really wanna leave. Locations was pretty good too. For me it was perfect. 5 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk from where I needed to be. The street is a dead-end/loop, with hardly any traffic. A couple of nice breakfast places, and a whacky Austin bar around the corner. Overall, I loved my stay. I sorta miss it already.

I am an airforce/airline 'brat', so I've traveled a lot and definitely plan to do it a lot more. I came to Austin to attend UT over three decades ago. Like many, I decided to make Austin my home, or at least my home base. Early on I left Austin to live on South Padre Island for 2 1/2 yrs., and in 1991 I moved to Barcelona and lived there for almost 4 yrs. I've worked in the hospitality industry since before college, and still do. I am a foodie, I loooove food (and wine). I like to make it, eat it, talk about it,.. yeah,! I look forward to recommending some of the fabulous places to dine, great Happy Hours, and good deals one can find here in Austin. I have been a private Spanish teacher and a professional house painter for many years. In my free time, I enjoy movies, music (I DO live in Austin), gardening/landscaping, and hosting a fun party. I also enjoy my crazy cats who are a constant source of entertainment and love.
