Two bedroom apartment, with balcony. Shared lawn accessed by a few steps down from the balcony, where if lucky you can have a chat with the nice neighbours! Quiet neighbourhood which provides a truly realistic insight into everyday life in eastern Oslo.
Easy to reach from city centre by metro/bus within 25 minutes, as well as easy access to a trek in the woods.
You have access to wireless internet, towels, ready made bed, tea and coffe at any time.
The apartment is on the first floor, it has two bedrooms, Each bedroom sleeps two in beds sized 120*200cm, There is one bathroom, kitchen, lounge and space for dining. There is also my precious balcony with a sofa out during summer, and a barbecue, as well as entrance to the shared lawn with tables and benches for all.
Within 5 minutes there are several busstops and two supermarkets. It takes 10 minutes on bus to get to the woods where there are plenty of paths and a few small lakes. If the timing is right you can even borrow my bike to go there or to the citycentre.
I believe a stay at my place is fine for openminded people in general. We are a gay and lesbian friendly household by the way.
We had a great time staying at Siv's place. She is a wonderful and friendly lady. It turned out to be her birthday on the day of our arrival, yet she made sure that we were properly received and that we got what we needed from the store before heading out for dinner. She offered us Norweigian Waffles with Brown Cheese (the unique Goat Milk Cheese which I don't find in other European countries)! Her place is clean and the living room is spacious. We were allowed to cook in the kitchen and she doesn't mind us using her stuff, be it utensils or spices or whatever we could find in the kitchen. We loved cooking and eating in her kitchen. She also helped us with our laundry by reserving a machine at the laundry room! As we were on a 3-week tour and Oslo was only our second stop, the accessibility to a laundry service is obviously vital to us. Apart from cheese, she also introduced to us a traditional Norweigian restaurant, where we had our first taste of reindeer meat \*o*/ , as well as a very lovely woods nearby where we went trekking. Also, we had been coughing since the day of arrival, Siv was so kind to have borrowed a cough syrup for us so that we could manage to get some sleep. All and all, it felt so pleasant and relaxing staying at Siv's place and we would love to see her again or even return to her nice apartment if chances arise. The only thing that all tourists should pay attention is the expensive transportation costs in Oslo. Get a 24 hour travel card which costs NOK90 at ticket places or convenient stores the first thing as soon as arriving in the city!
Staying here in Oslo has been fun and really exciting. While very new here and having to learn many things, my stay here with Siv at her place was just great!! She made me feel right at home. making my time here fun and enjoyable.
She also shared lwith me some of Norway's famous attractions, scenic spots and very special historic parts.
The shared accommodations were just perfect for my needs and I would recommend her to anyone. If you are planning to visit Olso, give Siv and try on air b n b!! :)
Great room. Very comfortable bed. Clean and convenient to the city.
Idyllic is a nice and flexible host. Her unit is comfortable and clean. Good location that near all tourist spots. I enjoyed very much mystay. Thanks, Idyllic.
Siv was friendly and helpful person.
It was so comfortable stay. She let us do ourselves everything.
I felt I was in my room. I like so much her anther room.
Hey there! It was really pleasant to sleep for 2 nights in Siv's apartment. She was warmly and I felt welcome.
It was a little bit far away from the center of the city, but I knew that before I arrived and it was no problem because there was every 20 minutes a bus to the metro station.
I could move freely in the home and recover. Thank you!
Siv is a very nice lady, very helpful, nice atmosphere in the house. The apartment is fully equiped with everything for cooking/washing/sleeping. It's ideal for young couples, and very close (5 min walk) from a busstation. You're in the centre of Oslo in about 20 minutes. It was a really great experience :-)
Idyllic suburbia is really a perfect description of Siv's place; a leafy, residential, multicultural area and a quaint house to boot. Siv is also a darling and we had some interesting conversations and got on very well. I would absolutely recommend staying with her, as it will surely be a positive and unique experience. Transport links are excellent and the nearby forest and lake are a paradise for the soul.
The apartment is nice and is situated in a quiet and pleasant residential area, where you feel like home.
There is a lot of green area surrounding the place, and the view from the balcony is nice and relaxing.
There is a store, close to Siv's apartment, where you can buy everything you need, and the bus and metro are not far either.
Siv was just great, very helpful from the beginning and a very pleasant host.
I would come back there with pleasure.
Thank you Siv :)
