The space

If you're looking for respite and inspiration,
Welcome to Voss Gardens! Or as our guests call it "Foodie Heaven!"
We are casual and rustic chic here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Perched in the redwoods, our home is an architectural wonder built by our family of engineers and artists back in the eclectic seventies. Over the years an assemblage of art, antiques and curios has charmed its way into the spacious rooms and lofts. We offer 6 acres of quiet ambiance for guests and business travelers. Surrounded by redwoods and wildlife, our year round Organic Gardens provide robust greens for the Culinary Artist at the Montalvo Center for the Arts in Saratoga and other private chefs in the Bay Area.
Although our location is central to all the area has to offer, you may just want to sit on one of our many decks and commune with the muse, ponder the profundities, finish that novel, play the piano, paint the landscape, breathe deeply....
Then for a break, you are
-5 miles from Henry Cowell State Park, 28 miles from Big Basin State Park, both have stunning hiking and biking trails,
-Popular cycling routes just off our driveway
-10 miles from the beach and all the wonderful weirdness that is Santa Cruz,
-20 minutes from Silicon Valley,San Jose International Airport, and a myriad of metropolitan pleasures,
-1 hour south of San Francisco, my favorite city in the world,
-1 hour north of Monterrey/Carmel,
-1 mile stroll from a stunning old growth redwood, "The King of the Forest."(see Picture) Take a walk or bike ride from our house, and pass by a pony farm, historical markers, vineyards and old stagecoach and railroad routes. This little area of Glenwood is loaded with history.
-64 bonded wineries within 20 mile radius

We make every effort to maintain cleanliness. However, our mountain well water has a high mineral content and 40 years of buildup has left our facilities with a rusty looking surface that is extremely difficult to remove. We sanitize regularly and ask our guests to please keep this in mind. Consider it part of the charm of living in the mountains.

Guest access

Kitchen is generally not available but we can be flexible for simple requests. Just ask.
Peace of mind is always accessible, as are the decks, living and music rooms.

Interaction with guests

Privacy is always respected but we find getting to know our guests is one of the wonderful perks of airbnb.
Its up to you.

I would like to say how lousy it was so that it doesn't get spoiled by too many visitors, but I'd be lying and that would just be selfish. Eden is wonderful! Her home was such a treat, and she makes a SCREAMIN' crustless quiche. It is a tricky route to maneuver in the dark, but well worth it.

Eden is an amazing cook! She cooked both breakfast and dinner for us while during our stay, and it felt just like being back home with mom. The greens from her garden are life changing. Pumpkin waffles with plum compote were the best fuel for our hike. The view is beautiful and a very peaceful place to relax. They really welcomed us in and helped us feel completely at home. We spent most of the time just hanging out in the family room and petting Buddy their sweet dog. The room we slept in was very comfortable. Just a heads up that there are a couple rooms that share a shower, but this room had an en suite half bath. I will definitely be coming back!

Eden's house is a great getaway spot for a couple or friends staying the weekend. She's sweet, considerate and communicative as a host. Her complementary breakfasts were hand-made fresh and delicious, and the house had a welcoming aura. Our room (Room A) was kept clean and organized throughout our stay. The house is in a remote location in the woods, but not too far (about a 20-30min drive) to Santa Cruz or Saratoga. Overall, would definitely recommend someone stay here for a getaway away from Silicon Valley or if you're making a trip out to Santa Cruz.

Voss Gardens is a lovely mountain home in a secluded little community off the beaten path! Quiet, tranquil wooded surroundings with Scotts Valley restaurants and shopping just a short drive away. Eden goes above and beyond the expectations of a typical host - she is accommodating and quick to respond in her communications and provides a lovely atmosphere - truly welcoming you to her home.

It was SUCHA delight staying at the Voss Gardens! It exceeded all my expectations and definitely unlike any other airbnb's! From the time we arrived/checked-in, Eden welcomed us and she extremely sweet and hospitable, to the time of our stay, all the way until we left, Eden made us feel so at home and comfortable. Buddy (their dog) is so sweet and friendly too. It was a meditative experience and it really feels like a little escape from a busy city life. The place is so peaceful just simply a beautiful sanctuary. Thanks Eden & Craig! We will definitely come back :)

I was in Scotts Valley attending a yoga retreat at 1440 Multiversity and chose to stay offsite at Eden's, Voss Gardens. Her home worked out great!! Voss Gardens is close to 1440 (drive is about 12 min or 3.4 miles), Eden (and her dog Buddy) are super friendly, and her home is extremely clean and comfortable. The highlight of the experience included Eden's delectable, baked goods and coffee in the mornings! I highly recommend staying at Voss Gardens and can't wait to return in the future.

My family and I stayed at Eden and Craig's beautiful home recently, and it surpassed our expectations. The house is beautiful, full of art, vintage musical instruments, origami birds and light. The garden is full of flowers, succulents and edibles. Eden, a gourmet chef cooked breakfast for us, and it was better than any restaurant I've ever been too. She easily and happily accommodated my dietary restrictions. I'd go again in a heartbeat :)
