Interaction with Guests
We will do our best be there to meet you when you arrive and show you around the house personally. We also always leave a packet with house instructions, tips, and our favorite local spots.
Our house is a short, pleasant walk to Peninsula Park, where there is a beautiful rose garden as well as a playground, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Famous Mississippi Records is just a few blocks away, right next to Sweedeedee Cafe, a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. There are grocery stores within walking distance, and historic Mississippi Avenue, with its cute restaurants, bars, and shops, is less than one mile away. We are also just around the corner from Williams Avenue, where new bars and restaurants seem to open every day! The Alberta Arts district is also nearby. Finally, because we are just a few minutes from I-5 and surrounded by great transit, you can get downtown or to pretty much any other part of Portland really quickly and easily.
One block from the house you can catch a bus that will get you downtown in 15 minutes. There is also a MAX stop just a few blocks away. Finally, there is a bike lane right around the corner that will take you downtown easily. With a car, you are just 10 minutes from downtown and there is basically no neighborhood in Portland you can't reach within about 15 minutes. You can easily park in front of the house or use the driveway in the back if you don't mind getting out of the car to open the back gate.
Other Things to Note
Please note that although we have a small dog she will not be here during your stay and is a "hypo-allergenic" breed that does not shed.
Please no smoking inside and no loud parties, although you're welcome to have a few friends over and cook out in the backyard. Please be respectful as this is our home. Finally, please leave the house in good shape--just as you would hope someone would treat your home. Thanks!
It was everything as advertised. We had a great time in the house. It was well kept and clean. Alexis is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. A+
My experience with Alexis was very pleasant. The house was well represented.
We went down to Portland as a pair of couples and our newborn daughter -- we had a great stay in Alexis' beautiful home. Alexis was extremely responsive to any questions we had during the stay and we soon felt right at home. Our highlight was probably the Saturday night we spent hanging out with friends and family -- taking full advantage of both the large dining room table and the comfy living room with the fireplace.
This was a fantastic home in a wonderful neighborhood. The house was spacious and with a well equipped kitchen. The porch served as a wonderful place for my two grandsons, age 2, to play with their cars on a misty Portland day. A beautiful park was within walking distance as well as a few local eateries. Alexis was a wonderful host more than willing to answer any questions you might have. My family loved this house and we all agreed that we would check the availability on our next visit to Portland .
I booked the home for a photo shoot and the house is very spacious with great lighting. Worked well! The owners were very accommodating.
Alexis was so accommodating and made our visit as easy as can be! The house is lovely and full of beautiful light. Will definitely put on the list to try again! :)
