The Space

Welcome to Brooklyn! Newly renovated, this spacious bedroom is on the third floor of a five floor historic brick home built in 1899. It features a small en suite bathroom with shower, three closets (one walk in) as well as a writing area alcove with two large windows overlooking a courtyard. The bedroom is furnished with a double/full size storage bed with 4 drawers and 2 doors, 2 bed side tables, a small chest of drawers and a comfy chair that converts to a twin size bed. The alcove has a desk, chair and bookshelf and gets good light. There is also a small 13" television with roku internet television that features dozens of channels streaming hundreds of shows, movies as well as pandora music. The very pretty, but non-working fireplace adds warmth to the room as does the original wood floors and old world Brooklyn achitectural details.

The home is a two-family brick house on a tree-lined, safe, vibrant, landmark block of Clinton Hill, one 1/2 block away from Higgin's Hall at Pratt Institute. Lower manhattan is a short 15 minute subway ride away via the "C" train (blue line) at Clinton-Washington. The "G" train (green line) is right around the corner for easy connections to the "C" or "L" lines to Manhattan or Williamsburg. Restaurants, markets and services are within a few blocks on either Dekalb Avenue, Myrtle Avenue or Fulton Street. One of Brooklyn's most desirable neighborhoods, Clinton Hill has a diverse mix of young professionals, students, long term residents and families.

The kitchen is large and shared, it is great for preparing meals at home or entertaining. it can comfortably accommodate 8 and features stainless steel appliances, a 4 burner gas stove, a dishwasher, a center island (with 4 stools) and bay window bistro seating area (with seating for 4). There is also free wireless internet. I look forward to hosting you!

Check In
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Erica's for 3 months - June through August - and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is very nice, safe and convenient, within a short walking distance to tons of cafes, bars and restaurants. The G train is just down the block as well as Pratt, and my favorite coffee house, Urban Vintage. :) The house itself is a brownstone and the room is nice and large; plenty of space for 2 people, and having a private bathroom was very convenient. The house is large so there is a lot of privacy and it has a great kitchen if you decide to stay in and cook. My only complaint was that it got really hot some nights, but Erica was kind enough to offer to install A/C (which I highly recommend if you plan to stay during the summer). Erica is a sweetheart and always accommodated us during our stay. We will definitely come back here again!

  • The large 1 bedroom and bathroom at Erica's home in Clinton Hill Brooklyn is wonderful. It is clean, spacious, light, and has great high ceilings. The bed is very comfortable and the spare roll-away bed is comfortable too (my friend stayed on it and she said it was great). The bathroom is small but really nice - the shower is quite large and the bathroom sink is quite tiny but overall, it is fantastic to have a private bathroom. The house is very quiet - I rarely heard the other guests who were staying there but when I did run into folks, they were very friendly. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking a meal and there is a grocery store less then a three minute walk away. The street and the neighborhood are wonderful - restaurants and cafe's near by. The G-line train is very close and you can easily transfer to the A/C line from the G to get into Manhattan.
Erica is very friendly and has created a warm and welcoming environment. She was accommodating when I had to change my travel plans. I would definitely recommend this room.

  • Beautiful, clean room. Comfy beds, lots of storage space, kitchen had all you need. Neighborhood felt safe, we walked all the way to Manhatten! Good resturants close by, right by Pratt... We would stay there again.
