This is a bright walk out apartment in our home with a private entrance. We will be here but we give you all the privacy that you want.

This is a rural town 7 miles from Westerly, Rhode Island, and about 12 miles from Mystic.

Please read the whole description of this property to make sure it is suitable for your family.

I think the best way to make a decision about booking is to read the reviews enclosed here. I think my guests describe the accommodation even better than I do!

The space
We have a lovely spot just two miles off of I-95, with a 26 acre lake and walking trails. The closest town is Westerly, RI. It is a pretty town, with restaurants and shops, a gorgeous library, and a wonderful park, called Wilcox Park, with a fish pond and sculpture.

The apartment is in our home, lowest level. We live above the apartment. You will hear us some, but we try to be very respectful and quiet. We get up early, but we move around very quietly. We have dogs, so you may hear them walking around. You will have all the privacy that you need. We sleep and watch tv 2 floors above the Airbnb apartment and on the other end of the house. We don't hear you at all.

You will not hear party sounds or furniture moving, just the sounds of gentle living. We keep fans running to avoid any mustiness, as this is a walk-out basement, very bright. You may keep the fans running or not. They are effective as a white noise machine. ( You hear us less).

This adorable apartment has one bedroom with a queen-size platform bed. We provide all bed linens and towels. The apartment is perfect for one couple, as there is only one queen bed. There are only two chairs for eating at the table. I will not rent to two couples. I prepare the apartment meticulously and you will find it clean and fresh. I love to give great reviews and will do so when I find the apartment in great condition after your stay.

The apartment has a little kitchen complete with pots and pans and coffee-maker. I stock a few items in the refrigerator, but I do not serve breakfast. I let my guests make their own breakfast with the items in the fridge. Please let me know if you are vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free, and I will try to think of some alternatives to the items I usually provide. I put in the fridge: coffee, tea, English muffins, butter, jam, eggs, and granola. I provide enough breakfast items for my weekend guests. People who stay longer will want to go to a grocery store to buy some additional items.

On our property, there are trails into the forest and it's possible to walk back to see the beaver pond. They are creating a little havoc with our water flow, but we kind of love them, too! We recently saw a pair of bald eagles! Other creatures that we see : otters, foxes, deer, turkeys, and occasionally, coyotes. Tick spray is needed if you walk into the woods.

Parking is plentiful. You can pull up pretty close to the red barn home, and that way you will be close to the Airbnb entrance for bringing in your suitcases (on left side of home, inside of a picket fence). We have 5 dairy goats and 2 Boston terriers. We have a few grapevines, a blueberry patch and a couple of peach trees.
You'll have all the amenities of a private hotel room, but you have your own patio, can also enjoy nature, pet the goats, walk on our trails, and get to the closest beach in 20 minutes. You will love it here!

By the way, we have a 2 night minimum. This is not a home where you can invite others and throw parties. It is our primary home, and it is for the enjoyment of one couple , the ones to whom we rent. This is an accommodation for people who love nature and quiet.

Where you’ll be

Hopkinton, Rhode Island, United States

Our neighborhood is very quiet. We are close to I-95, which makes it very easy to go to beaches, Mystic, CT, Providence, RI, and other scenic towns. In Mystic, ( 4 exits to the south) there is the Mystic Aquarium and the Mystic Seaport. Also, you will find boutiques and restaurants. Stonington Borough is 3 exits to the south. Providence, RI is about 40 minutes north on 95. Newport, RI is an hour and 15 min away. Boston is less than 2 hours away.

There are not too many restaurants right in our little town. I encourage guests to leave me names of places that you have enjoyed, so I can include them in my reference materials. When reading the information on my site, scroll down to the map. On the map, you will see icons of nearby restaurants, parks, wineries, and more.

What you have right here with us: Scenic farm with some grapevines, and a small peach orchard, goats, hiking trails, a lake for kayaking, a private apartment with a private patio. Better than any hotel room!

I came to Rhode Island in 2007 after living in Washington DC for 35 years! I am married and my husband and I have spent the past 5 years building our dream house here by the lake and taming the land! It's endless...But, I'm living my dream. I have 5 goats and 2 dogs. I am an artist. The Airbnb apartment is decorated with samples of my work.
Building the B and B business is also part of a fantasy. Come and share paradise!

During your stay

I love to meet my guests! I will also respect their privacy. Once we meet and I tell you a few important things, you are more or less on your own. I feel that many of my guests come here to enjoy privacy and I will not bother you, as long as I see that you have what you need.

However, while you are here, feel free to ask about the area, or if you have a question about the apartment. I'm always available by text.
