The Space

Your bedroom is upstairs in the front of the house with a private entrance. The Living Room is your personal room as is your private bathroom; all separate from our part of the house. It's like 4 star hotel accommodations; queen sized bed, hair dryer, bath towels, soap, shampoo, cream rinse and on and on. We have it all. (Its nice to be older)

Full access to a great kitchen; dishwasher, gas range and cooktop with granite countertops.

High speed WIFI, of course.

TV: We only supply over the air TV but it is with a new 40" TV and a DVD player in your room. Also, an HDMI cable to hook up to you computer if you (website hidden) & USB power ports built into headboard. Maps of the area supplied free.

We are in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy public transportation connections to San Francisco or San Jose (SJC), CA via CalTrain.

We have a large back yard garden with 2 Weber charcoal grills and a gas grill and ample seating for guests.

Flying in, check San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC). We are 1/2 way between both and sometimes SJC is cheaper by far.

We are old hippies, travel junkies (70+ countries and counting), we have lived and worked on 4 continents and are still having fun and in love after 40 years together.

  • Our hosts, Josh and Rosa, gave us a very warm welcome and hit the perfect balance of friendliness without imposing in any way on our privacy. They went above and beyond, making a special accommodation for my son who was traveling with me. The listing was exactly as advertised, the garden is very inviting, and the neighborhood quiet and very pleasant. I walked downtown and back one evening, after dark, and felt completely safe doing so. They have a very generous kitchen policy - whatever you can find, you can eat!

  • Josh is an awesome and fun guy!
When I flew in from Asia a day early and got the timezones wrong they accommodated me.
Josh always offers to drive you places or pick you up and even borrow his car. I also know he helps other people that have stayed before.
We had a lot of fun chats and shared a beer. Great sense of humor.
Communication is also very strong and recommend email.
The place is great, the showers are proper and beds comfortable. You will feel safe here.
The location is nice, quiet and safe but a little out of the way so recommend having a car, uber or Josh ;)
    Highly recommend staying here.

  • My husband and I just completed a 5 day stay. The neighborhood was very quiet and nice. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We had an entire living room to ourselves and it came in handy for late night reading. The kitchen was extremely clean and accessible. Josh and Rosa were friendly and welcoming hosts. We would book this again if needed.

  • I had another great stay at josh and rosa's place this week. I loved having access to the gardens with beautiful flowers and delicious blueberries! I look forward to my next stay at travelers house and travelers rest!

  • Josh was a very welcoming host with a great setup for anyone in need of a place to stay in Redwood City. We were able to walk just about everywhere we needed to go (Caltrain!) and we'll be pointing family this way if they're ever in need of a room in the area.

  • Gracious host, luxurious surroundings. An amazing value in the Bay Area. No reason to stay anywhere else. Thanks Josh.

  • Josh was a fantastic host! He made my first Airbnb experience a positive one. The space was exactly as described - comfortable and complete with all of the conveniences needed for a successful business trip. On my second evening at RWCTH, I was treated to a bowl of Josh's homemade chicken soup...a nice surprise and far better than the frozen dinner I had planned to have! I will be in the area quite a bit over the next year and will put Travelers House on my list of places to visit again!

  • Landlords: High marks for Josh and Rosa …. Quiet, friendly, rarely seen
Establishment: High marks for amenities — great coffee, well stocked kitchen, terrific shower, good bed, good heating, great parking, safe neighborhood, clean and functionally appointed. Most guests would find the spaces cozy and homey.
Lower marks for aesthetics. To be fair, I am an interior designer and color specialist. My husband liked the homey atmosphere.
Drawback: No cable TV… only a few local channels available. We missed the Olympics (sigh)
