Redwood City Travelers House

House - Private room · Myrtle Street, Redwood City, CA 94062, United States

The Space

Your bedroom is upstairs in the front of the house with a private entrance. The Living Room is your personal room as is your private bathroom; all separate from our part of the house. It's like 4 star hotel accommodations; queen sized bed, hair dryer, bath towels, soap, shampoo, cream rinse and on and on. We have it all. (Its nice to be older)

Full access to a great kitchen; dishwasher, gas range and cooktop with granite countertops.

High speed WIFI, of course.

TV: We only supply over the air TV but it is with a new 40" TV and a DVD player in your room. Also, an HDMI cable to hook up to you computer if you (website hidden) & USB power ports built into headboard. Maps of the area supplied free.

We are in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy public transportation connections to San Francisco or San Jose (SJC), CA via CalTrain.

We have a large back yard garden with 2 Weber charcoal grills and a gas grill and ample seating for guests.

Flying in, check San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC). We are 1/2 way between both and sometimes SJC is cheaper by far.

We are old hippies, travel junkies (70+ countries and counting), we have lived and worked on 4 continents and are still having fun and in love after 40 years together.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Josh was a very welcoming host with a great setup for anyone in need of a place to stay in Redwood City. We were able to walk just about everywhere we needed to go (Caltrain!) and we'll be pointing family this way if they're ever in need of a room in the area.

  • Gracious host, luxurious surroundings. An amazing value in the Bay Area. No reason to stay anywhere else. Thanks Josh.

  • Josh was a fantastic host! He made my first Airbnb experience a positive one. The space was exactly as described - comfortable and complete with all of the conveniences needed for a successful business trip. On my second evening at RWCTH, I was treated to a bowl of Josh's homemade chicken soup...a nice surprise and far better than the frozen dinner I had planned to have! I will be in the area quite a bit over the next year and will put Travelers House on my list of places to visit again!

  • Landlords: High marks for Josh and Rosa …. Quiet, friendly, rarely seen
Establishment: High marks for amenities — great coffee, well stocked kitchen, terrific shower, good bed, good heating, great parking, safe neighborhood, clean and functionally appointed. Most guests would find the spaces cozy and homey.
Lower marks for aesthetics. To be fair, I am an interior designer and color specialist. My husband liked the homey atmosphere.
Drawback: No cable TV… only a few local channels available. We missed the Olympics (sigh)

  • Josh opened his charming (and very clean) home willingly. I was comfortable, safe and centrally located and had coffee and breakfast at my fingertips. Josh and Rosa are travelers and appreciate interesting people who are passing through or exploring the area and considering a longer stay. I 've stayed with several airb&b hosts and would highly recommend this sweet spot in Redwood City,

  • Josh is a wonderful host. The accommodation is definitely a lot bigger and nicer than I anticipated. The house is absolutely beautiful. The location is quiet, but close enough to downtown Redwood City to be very convenient. Great place to stay!

  • My wife and I enjoyed our 2+ week stay in the R.C.T.H. The bed was comfortable, the bedroom and closets were roomy, the bathroom had a spacious shower, the living room was comfortable for reading and the spacious kitchen was well equipped: I liked using the Keurig coffeemaker and their kitchen table served well for our occasional family get-togethers, like making a gingerbread house with our son and 4-year old granddaughter..The backyard worked well for hide-and-seek. One problem I had was my Internet Service Provider (ISP), Microsoft, was suspicious of their ISP, dungeon, and locked me out of my email account. Another minor problem was not finding NBC on their TV, with Josh being away while we were there. But overall our stay was very enjoyable and we would stay there another time..

  • We stayed at the Redwood City Travellers House for more than two months during a Visiting Scholarship at Stanford. The house is located quite conveniently, 15 min walk to Caltrain Station and only 30 min ride to Stanford by bike. Josh and Rosa were very relaxed and very generous hosts. They borrowed us mobile phones, a bike and occasionally their car. Our baby girl had their full attention. Josh even organised a changing table and sang old songs for her.
