**ONE NIGHT BOOKINGS ONLY UPON DEMAND OR FOR THE SAME DAY- DO NOT USE THE INSTANT BOOKING IF NOT FOR THE SAME DAY**
We are renting this newly refurbished (Feb 2013), sunny, with lots of charm and super central apartment in a quiet semi pedestrian street of the magic and charming neighbourhood of Cortes. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a silent and cozy apartment to feel like home, walking distance to all the sights in Madrid: the museums, entertainment and parks... The Prado museum is just 3 minutes walk from the apartment.
THE APARTMENT - AMENITIES
The apartment is located in the third floor of a walk up building (so NO elevator, like most buildings in central Madrid, but we are always willing to help you carrying your luggage upstairs). The apartment and all the furniture and amenities are brand new and despite of it being in a vibrant neighbourhood, the street where it is located is very quiet and semi pedestrian (only residents and taxies are allowed, so there is no car’s noise) and very silent, so perfect for your night sleep after a whole day visiting Madrid.
* 1 Bedroom with a double bed (king size), a TV, a closet and a desk in case you need to work, check emails or continue planning your trip.
* 1 Sofa bed in the living room that can be turned into a super comfy double bed for 2 additional people.
* Kitchen fully equipped with anything you need to cook and eat, including the stove, microwave with grill, refrigerator, washing machine, kettle and toaster. There is no drier but there is a clothes horse that you can use..
* A living room with dining table for 4, sofa, radio and a 39 inches TV.
* A bathroom with shower.
* Wi-Fi is also available during your stay, how not ;)
*Baby cot available under request, 10€/stay
* MOVIES: Besides the regular TV channels and radio, you can watch a selection of MOVIES directly on the TV system
Of couse, fresh linen is provided, as well as iron, hairdryer, etc. If you think there is something missing, we'll be happy to have your feedback in order to continue improving the apartment.
Cortes is also known as el "Barrio de las Letras," literary Madrid. This is where Spain's most celebrated Golden Age authors - Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Tirso de Molina - lived during the 17th century. Without hesitation we can say that this is the best and nicest neighbourhood in central Madrid. You’ll immediately note how elegant the neighbourhood is from an architectural standpoint. The streets radiating off its core, Plaza de Santa Ana, are packed with tapas bars and bars to hang out.
Every first Saturday of the month the Frog’s market takes place in the streets of Cortes. Retailers of the area (including designers, vintage clothes, furniture and more) participate in this monthly market.
The location of the apartment is perfect to visit Madrid without even having to use our good public transport network. Actually, within 15 minutes walking you can reach the main museums in town (Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemisza), the Retiro Park, Gran Via and its neoclassic architecture, the Rastro and La Latina, etc. But in any case, the nearest metro stop (Antón Martín) is just 3 minutes away. Here you can catch Line 1, that will take you to Atocha Renfe (your arrival point if you get to town by train or with the shuttle train/bus from the airport).
For sure, you won't have problems to move around from here.
We try to be as flexible as possible with your check in so as to allow you to get into the apartment as soon as you get downtown. Let us know your schedules and we'll work it out! However, if you arrive from 10pm to 12pm there is a LATE CHECK IN FEE of 15 euro payable upon arrival. From 12pm to 1.30am, the LATE CHECK IN FEE is 25 euro.
You can check availability 100% accurately by clicking on the calendar link above.

The apartment was lovely and well appointed. The shower was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Vanessa was ready for us on arrival with detailed info. We highly recommend this listing.
The apartment is just like shown on the photos - perfectly well equipped and beautifully furnished. The area has nice Cafés and Restaurants and you can easily walk to many interesting places. We had a great stay, muchas gracias Oscar and Vanessa!
It was perfect flat for us. Very quiet, clean and good location. Restaurant recommendations were brilliant. Specially Iberian pig in MrFrank restaurant was excellent.
We had a wonderful experiance. The apartment was at great location, cozy and quiet, with everything we needed, and Oscar was very kind : )
Extremely well located and equipped! We found the location to be perfect for our visit, but what stood out more for us was the set up of the apartment. It has been furnished in an extremely thoughtful way, the balcony doors open for fresh air, and the kitchen has exactly the right items for simple cooking. Everything was very clean and in working order and Oscar is a very kind and informative host. Overall extremely comfortable and we highly recommend!
The appartment was amazing, exactly as pictured and had absolutely everything we could have needed. Vanessa met us there as promised and everything was clean and welcoming. She gave us some great advise and had maps and guides at our disposal for our stay. The location was effortlessly convenient to everything, we walked everywhere we went, it was our first time in Madrid so we definitely relied on our map! Honestly it was absolutely perfect and we left happy and satisfied and can't wait to come back!! Thank you very much!!

We welcome you to Spain and we wish you a good stay in Madrid!
Oscar works as a photographer and Vanessa studies drama and theatre production and management. However, until some years ago Oscar was an engineer and Vanessa was a M&A lawyer. And then one day we decided to turn our lifes up side down and follow our real passions.
We are best friends and on May 2012 we decided to move forward and enroll in a small business together. Vanessa had been hosting with Airbnb for 2 years by then (renting the spare room at her place in Madrid/Milan and her apartment in Barcelona) and her experience (upgraded to Superhost in early 2011) was so positive that we decided we could also help other owners that don't live in town or don't have the time to rent their properties to travelers as you. And this is what we are doing now together.
More about us, we love to travel: in 2012 Vanessa traveled to Greece with her backpack and Oscar spent a few months working in France. Last summer Oscar repeated the French experience while Vanessa explored Malaysia during a month and a half.
We are also keen in meeting new people and learning new things from them, but more importantly, we want you to feel at home at any of our apartments and that you feel that there's someone in town who cares for you:-)
We enjoy little life pleasures like riding our bicycles or growing our small organic vegetables gardens (each of us has one). We like eco-friendly environments since we care a lot about our planet.
We will help you to find you like home in this beautiful city and we look forward to having the opportunity to meet you soon!!
