Apartment in the hip Reykjavik harbor.
If you want to have a unique experience when visiting Reykjavik this is the place to stay.
I am offering a cosy stay in my beautiful flat located in the downtown harbor village in Reykjavik. The neighborhood is the best as we are both very close to the city centre and in the new hip harbor village, where the old fisherman sheds have been converted to cafés, restaurants and galleries. But it is still quiet and friendly.
THE APARTMENT has a a big bedroom with a double bed and second bedroom a sofa bed for 2 guests in the living room is sofa bad also that 2 can sleep in.Free wifi. You will also have access to the kitchen, living room, bathroom etc. In the kitchen there is a dishwasher and washing machine if you want to do laundry.
LOCATION is the best. It is only a 5 minute walk from the main square in town. Just hop out and onto one of the whale watching boats or stroll to a café. There is a bus stop by my road and also plenty of free parking (if you rent a car). If you are hungry either try the local Icelandic fish n chips restaurant, the world´s best lobster soup according to the New York Times or go to the hip new restaurant Forréttabarinn. All around the corner from my apartment.
I am a photographer, I like nature, fashion, colors, music, people from around the world and coffee ;) I enjoy the outdoors and travelling. My main attraction though is that I I ALSO HAVE A DOG! She is a very lovable friendly pure bread Icelandic sheepdog :) me and my dog will not be home:)
I expect my guests to treat my home with respect :)
Check in is pretty flexible but you have to let us know when to expect you as we work irregular hours.
Check out is no later than 1pm. If you would like to store some stuff in the flat after that please talk to us.
The house was lovely- everything we needed for the night. Michael was friendly and helpful. It is in a great location and easy to find. Very comfortable. Thank you!
Michael responded very quickly at all times, during booking and pre arrival. His instructions were clear and he was present to meet us. He was friendly and clear during handover. The apartment is great and equipped with all that you need. It is also brilliantly located, right on the old harbour.
Michael was very helpful and accommodating with our meet up and exchange of keys. We arrived in the middle of a snow storm and had a difficult time reaching him by text, due to our own phone errors not his, but he was immediately accessible by email and prompt about meeting up. He was extremely flexible and accommodating. The place was clean and well located. Due to the storm, we did not really leave the house, but felt very cozy watching a movie and slept very comfortably in our two private rooms for three travelers. We found enough cookware to make up some spaghetti and sauce picked up at the store and enjoy a clean washroom when leaving the next morning.
Michael's home was easy to get to and so comfortable! He helped us feel really welcome and was flexible about my arrival time. I would definitely stay here again!
The apartment was exactly as described - convenient for downtown (less than 10 minutes walk) and right on the harbour. There was more than enough space for the six of us staying there for two nights, and the kitchen was equipped with what we needed.
Michael was helpful, very nice and prompt in replying to texts and emails.
We'd definitely stay here again if we cam back to Reykjavik and have already recommended the apartment to friends who are planning to visit later this year.
Stayed at Michael's place on two separate legs of my trip in Iceland, and he was there to receive us on both occasions, despite my first arrival being almost 2am.
Location was pretty central and wasn't difficult to find. Do note that there's a pretty good tapas restaurant just down the same street. There's also free parking on his street.
He owns a dog so expect some pet hair on the couch and around the house and on your clothes, but that wasn't a problem at all for us.
Overall a great experience, and I'll definitely stay there again if I visit Reykjavik once more.
