This is looking across our pool. Our pool has an infinity edge. People like the infinity edge cause you feel like you're swimming into the ocean.
The Cottages were amazing. Great location. Just a 30 second scooter ride away from the Ulu cliffs and best surf. Hanging out at the cottages was amazing. The pool is great and the view is spectacular. Very peaceful and quite and a great place to come back to escape after surfing and wanting to relax. I will definitely come back and stay here.
Uluwatu Cottages was a great setup for the money. Great view off a oceanside cliff that is the same as other high priced resorts. Be warned, this place is not for tourists. There isn't much to do in the area but relax and enjoy the the piece and quiet. Jing made the experience. He sat down with me and let us know what to do in the area based on what we were looking for. He even went as far as to tell us what to do in Ubud after we left to our next accommodation. Personal highlights in the area: lunch at Alila, afternoon sunbathing at El Kabron, and dinner at Yeye.
The cottages are located in a quiet and peaceful part of Uluwatu, away from the crowds and noise of Kuta. The hosts gave perfect directions to the exact location.
The view from here is amazing, exactly as seen in the pictures.
The cottages are modern and comfortable.
Staff are nice and helpful.
Several beaches, restaurants, spas, sightseeing spots within reasonable distance. Scooters are easily available on rental basis, and are best way to get around.
Uluwatu cottage has an amazing view and a really great staff. We nearly lost the booking as there was some glitches in the system resulting in overbooking..but jing and Wayana were on the balls of their feet in helping us to look for an alternative. We eventually managed to stay in uluwatu cottage as planned. The staff was really helpful. They even woke up early at 630am when we asked if we could have our breakfast early as we needed to check out by 730am. We received welcome gifts at our door when we got there. The view was simply stunning, rooms were clean and comfortable. The only thing is, it is secluded and does not have transport. Be prepared to spend on car/taxi hires or simply ride a bike everywhere. It'll take a long walk out to find food/entertainment so prepare some staples on your own. It is the best place for one to relax, get out of the radar of the hectic city and reconnect with nature. Don't expect city life here.
Wayana dropped by to greet us in the morning which was a pleasant suprise. She also left a nice welcome note and recommended places nearby to visit.
Great place with awesome cliff side views.
Got to watch out for monkeys as they like to run off with your items especially in plastic bags. For some reason the water went out around 11am, not too sure why.
We stayed at Uluwatu Cottages for one night but we left very early the following morning, so we did not get to enjoy the splendid view so much. Since we left very early and will not be able to avail of the inclusive breakfast, they agreed to serve us our breakfast meal during dinner. The cottages are modern with air conditioning and TV. Eli and Made from reception was very helpful. Since the cottages are on a cliff, prepare for a bit of up and down walking. We did not rent a scooter or bicycle, so we just walked all the way to Suluban Beach. The area does not have a sunset view - facing the beach, the sun sets to your left. The beaches on this side of Bali are very good for surfing. We also got the traditional balinese massage by the pool and it was really good! We didn't get to meet Wayana but she messaged me on Airbnb right away to check on us. Jing is very helpful as well when I messaged him with some questions. Will definitely recommend this place!
Pia, thanks for your very detailed response. We regret we didn't get a chance to meet during your stay. We'll make sure Made and Eli get to hear about your compliments. Thanks for your honest and thorough feedback. We hope to make continuous improvements to our cottages. Cheers.

About the Host, Jing And Wayana
Bali-fornia: Jing is from California and Wayana is from Bali. Our family loves travel, our island, and our doors are open to fun-loving travelers.
Hi there. I worked at Airbnb for Indonesia market development. I go between Singapore and Bali. My wife and daughter will most likely be hosting you.
I studied at Berkeley and came out to the real world with an engineering degree in the dot-com crash of 2000. I worked in a nuclear physics lab, wrote C++ code, and then I took off to travel the world for two years, across Asia and Latin America. When I came to Bali, I stopped traveling. Bali was my new home. I met the perfect girl, she was Balinese and very pretty. I took her to dinner and missed my flight. I ended up staying on the island.

Jing and I have been married since 2007 and we have a young daughter Eka. Just ask and we'll be happy to take you to see hidden beaches, underground parties and off-the-beaten path things to see/do in Bali. We hope you'll share a few interesting tid-bits about yourselves as well.
Our favorite thing about hosting is getting the feeling of traveling without leaving Bali. Getting to experience a guest's culture and background is something we enjoy a lot. We make a point to meet each guest and get to know them a bit. Each guest is different and unique, we try 'feel' what you're in the mood for and go from there.
