The Space

Available for 10 weeks from 17th November 2013 until 31st January 2014.

Hi there!

A comfortably furnished room with your own ensuite & balcony is available from 17th November until end of January 2014. Perfect if you are relocating to Melbourne to work or study and need a place to stay while looking for a house.

Our place is a newish 3-level townhouse in Fairfield, just a stone's throw away from the Yarra River, great cafes, the train station and everything else you'll need. Currently three of us sharing but one of us is off to Europe for the holiday. You'll share with two but often get the whole house to yourself as we are going to be away a lot over summer.

Ground level is open plan living, with a modern kitchen looking onto a leafy courtyard.

Second level is two bedrooms with a shared central bathroom (with shower and tub), also a balcony.

The third level is yours! This is the master bedroom which again has a more than generous bathroom and its own balcony. Being a separate floor it is private and quite luxurious - you even have a city view and can even see the Eureka tower from your bed!

This is a surprisingly convenient location for anyone on PT or in a car. The house is super close to the city, only about a $20 taxi ride, as compared to a $30 ride to the CBD from Northcote.

If you want to take advantage of Northcote's hip High Street it's just a short cycle up the hill or a 5 minute drive!

We hope to find someone for the whole 9 weeks. Get in touch if you have questions.

Best wishes

  • Katrina was a great host! It was lovely to stay in such a large old church hall. The room was very grand - but also felt lovely and cosy. The hall is well located - just a short walk to the Bridge Hotel (great pub meals and live music) and the botanical gardens.
Katrina was also very considerate as one of our party fell ill whilst we were on holidays, and Katrina was happy for him to rest up in the room even after check out.
Thanks again Katrina! Good luck with the church renovations!!

Hi! I'm an architect and run my own business. I grew up in inner city Melbourne and have lived overseas but ended up back here to raise my two children. I'm in my early 40s and a non-smoker. My kids live with me part time. The eldest is almost grown up and plays in a band. I also have an old church in a country town about 1.5 hrs out of Melbourne that I am currently converting, so Im pretty busy with that. Melbourne is a great place to live and Im really thankful for what it has to offer in terms of the arts, cafes, live music and yoga. you'll love it too once you find out what's here. It's sociable, fun and peaceful. Other than music, films, art and yoga we also enjoy great food, camping and walking (Wilson's Prom is a favourite) and exploring regional towns and skiing.
