The Space

This modern and stylish apartment is in the centre of Melbourne with a beautiful view of Melbourne's heritage-listed General Post Office (GPO) building, the new Australian flagship store of H&M.

The bedroom available is an internal room that has a double bed, built-in-robes and a chest of drawers. Linen is provided. The room has a frosted glass sliding door, and one corner has frosted glass to let light in. There's one shared bathroom within this 2-bedroom apartment.

Please note minimum booking is for 4 nights. It's cheaper the longer you book. Please message me if you have any questions :)

Guest Access

Wifi internet, air-conditioning and heating, dishwashing and clothes washing machines are all included.

The building has a small gym. The entrance and each floor requires a security fob for access.

Interaction with Guests

Hi, my name is Xavier. Please note I LIVE IN THE APARTMENT and you'll be sharing the apartment with me. I'm 29, male, Australian and gay. I work in social policy consultancy and enjoy hosting people visiting the city - letting them know where's good to eat and shop (all of the best places are hidden down laneways!), and what's good to see. I like practising my Spanish too (me gusta practicar español). I generally enjoy a quiet home but enjoy a good dinner party too!

The Neighborhood

The apartment is close to lots of shopping, including one block from Bourke St Mall, Swanston St, and Hardware Lane restaurants, and two blocks from Collins St and Melbourne Central shopping centre. It is across the road from the new H&M Flagship Store at GPO, the new Emporium Shopping Centre, the Strand Arcade, and a short walk to QV.
It's also close to universities including RMIT, University of Melbourne (a 4 stop tram ride from the front door), and Victoria University's city campuses. A 20 minute walk will reach most CBD attractions including Crown Casino, Melbourne Museum, Melbourne Aquarium, Parliament, Flagstaff Gardens, the State Library, the Arts Centre, and Southbank.

Getting around

The apartment is located in the heart of Melbourne's public transport network. This means a short walk and one ride on a tram, train or bus will basically get you anywhere in Melbourne. The apartment is closest to Melbourne Central Station (which links to every train line in Melbourne) but is also a short walk to Flinders St Station, and a 10 minute walk to Southern Cross Station where the Skybus and regional and interstate trains arrive. The trams 19, 57, 59 are at the front door, and the trams (phone number hidden) and 96 are all within one block, and within a few blocks is almost every tram line in Melbourne.

Check In
  • Xavier (email hidden), and his apartment is great. Fantastic view from the windows, clean and quiet, and fantastic location! With arguably the best coffee in Melbourne just around the corner (Brother Baba Budan, Manchester Press), it was super-easy to get up and grab a great coffee before heading out for the day.

Xavier was also really nice, and had drawn a great map of the area with all his favourite places marked in.

  • The host was extremely friendly, respectful and helpful in every aspect. The apartment was superbly located in the heart of CBD and walking distance to many places and easy access to public transport. The apartment was in a great vibrant part of CBD with easy access to restaurants and convenient stores and is safe to walk around at night. The room is clean and the bed was super comfortable. It is quiet despite the central location. A helpful folder with useful information was also kindly provided. Most thoughtful.

  • I enjoyed a very relaxed and pleasant stay, Jed made me feel completely at home and even left some chocolates on the bed - a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this option to others wanting to be in the heart of the city for work or pleasure.

  • Absolutely great location if you want to take in the CBD and greater Melbourne area. The host wasn't there much, but made me feel at home and welcome. Great insight into the city and venues. Also included a train/streetcar pass to use during the stay. Highly recommend.

  • Very friendly and pleasant host who helped me feel at home as soon as I got there, and would always off me a hot beverage.

The flat is also very lovely. It's in the centre of town, close to transport and a lot of great restaurants and sights. The bed is very comfortable, and the apartment is very neat and cosy, with some comfy couches for stretching out.

I would have no problems staying here in future.

  • This apartment was fantastic, both in its location and the host himself, Jed. I was in town for a uni course and the Uni of Melbourne campus is a 5-10 minute tram ride away (Jed even provides a Myki card for you to top up and use). The apartment is right in the centre of the city, is neat, tidy and remarkably comfortable. Jed (email hidden), he gave me suggestions on places to eat and drink (in a convenient hand drawn map as reference) when I had a chance to explore the city, along with being friendly and hospitable when I wasnt out and about. Highly recommended, you cant go wrong.

  • I really enjoyed my stay in Melbourne. The apartment is in the centre of town and close to everything. It was easy to just walk places, but also convenient to all forms of public transport if needed. The apartment was clean and had everything I needed during my visit. Jed (email hidden). He made me feel welcome but left me to get on with my stay as well. I felt completely comfortable in his home. I definitely recommend his apartment

I'm from Melbourne and work as a social policy consultant which I love. I volunteer at a community radio station. This year I'm trying to have more holidays though, and see parts of the world I haven't seen yet.
