The space

Nestled on top of the mountain range in the Mohawk Valley resides the Overlook Mansion. Our breath taking rooms can be the perfect getaway for snowmobiling, hiking, mountain climbing, or golf enthusiasts. The property was constructed in the late 1800s and provides a one of a kind stay. The rooms are located in a private location with in the city limits and have the best views of the mountain range and valley that the town has to offer.

The bedrooms are Victorian style with a flat screen TV, queen size bed, bathroom, and a beautiful view.

Our guests can expect a one of a kind stay with a beautiful view, library, and area for entertaining. There is also a gallery for art enthusiasts.

The neighborhood is extremely private and seclusive, with some fine dining available located in the downtown area. There is also a great area for antiquing and viewing the historic Erie Canal. During the summer season there is mountain climbing, golfing, and diamond mining. During the winter the mansion is set up for taking off from the snowmobile to the trails right from your room.

As a person unaccustomed to staying in Victorian-era mansions built by Industrial Age tycoons, driving up the winding drive was a bit surreal, exciting and intimidating, but the innkeeper Jim was really personable and made me feel comfortable right away. He lives in the north side of the house and has been there for years. There are new owners as of 3 or 4 weeks ago and they live in the cottage house. My room - the "gold room" - was perfect. Nice big solid comfortable bed, private bath in pretty white tile, lots of windows with a lovely view of the town below. Most of the furniture fit the period but with added bonus of some modern conveniences like a TV and a mini-fridge. Breakfast in the morning was served in the gorgeous dining room downstairs, timing was nice and flexible, and the food/conversation/ambiance were all great.

Wonderful place to stay. Romantic, historic and near great walks along the Erie Canal. Jim was a great host - couldn't ask for more - friendly, attentive, helpful and entertaining. And what a breakfast treat he prepares! You feel like Lord and Lady of the Manor. Well worth a special trip to stay here!!

The Overlook Mansion is a beautiful retreat with large guest rooms, a great breakfast cooked to order, and scenic views. The mansion is located in a small town with a quaint shopping and restaurant district. My husband and I enjoyed our stay including chatting with other guests over breakfast.

The mansion is beautiful inside and out standing majestically above the city of Little Falls, NY. The interior is kept with the original architecture and decorated beautifully with furniture that keeps with the late 1800's times. The staff are very warm and welcoming offering great tours that give some of the mansions rich history leaving you wanting to learn more. The rooms are all done very classy with the highest standards in mind leaving you waking up feeling like royalty. This was a wonderfully romantic valentines day for my girlfriend and I but could be used for a wide variety of events from a wedding down to a weekend retreat for the busy professional. I would recommend this to anyone and will be returning in the future.
