La Luna Albergue de Montaña is a house in the country surrounded by trees, a creek and the Andean landscape of Huaraz, Peru. Yet we are not far from the city--actually we are close, just 6 or 10 minutes in a car from the downtown area.

Interaction with Guests
I will welcome the hosts personally to help them settle into the house. I am also available to show them the most intersting places, so they can get familiar with the town. I like to chat with new guests, and do speak some English as well. If I go out, there will be always a staff member that will guide them and help out in your stay.
The house is in the Palmira neigborhood, which is in a small woods. What I like the most about my neighboorhod is the surrounding nature and the creek that passes in front the house from the glaciers above. In fact we can organize groups for trekking following the river to the mountains, and finally to the reach the glacier Llaca. The archeological site, Wilcahuain, is very close (3km) to my neighborhood, and also the Monterrey hot spring. My neighborhood is also close to basic services like pharmacies, markets, restaurants, and gas stations.
The hostel is close to the main highway that connects the Callejon de Huaylas to Huaraz and ultimately to Lima. There are always cars. You can reach the city in "colectivos," or shared taxies, for 0.25 US cents, or in private taxis for $1.50.

The hostel was very cute and artistically decorated. Very clean. Located just among the extraordinarily beautiful scenery of Huaraz. The host was very hospitable, who provided all the information I needed and showed me around. We had great time sharing stories and cooking together like long-time friends. I would highly recommend this one! It's not only accommodation but a real intimate cultural experience.
Staying in the Albergue la Luna was a great experience. The natural surroundings and peace gave me the opportunity to stay away from the regular city noise. The house installations are clean and work well. The showers have hot water, which is very nice after hiking for a week in the mountains.. There are individual, double bed and collective rooms, which are comfortable. The house has a chimney and it is very nice to sit around the fire in the evenings. It is nice that there is spacious living room to relax, read and spend a quiet afternoon. The WIFI works great! You can use the kitchen for cooking whatever you like. In fact, our last dinner with Orlando and local friends was really fun and nice. The local transportation is convenient; there are colectivos for (1 sol / $0.25 cent), and cheap cabs for (a 3 soles / $1.2). Local transportation is cheap!
Orlando is a great host. He keeps an eye on your needs, gives you good information and his warm personality is something that I appreciated a lot. It is very recommended to stay in this here when you visit Huaraz to spend some days in the peace and quiet of the countryside. It has good WIFI, kitchen, rooms and common areas.
We like nature but Orlando's home is quite too close from it! If you like camping, go. If you want a real bed and a clean place, go away. The only thing I liked was the cheminée but all the house was empty with the smoke in 2 minutes… Doors and windows aren't not isolated and we were very cold. We choose this big house to have each a room but finally we slept in the same room… The kitchen was very dirty: dishes, cat and dog food everywhere… I can't warm water in the morning : no breakfast… and the bathroom doesn't really work. Notice if you have no car, it is 25 min walking from the center. Furthermorre in the bad side of the town without any interest. We didn't expect that and the description isn't really honest. So be careful: the price is quite expensive for Huajas, you can have much better and priceless near it.
