A beautiful modern home in hip East Austin. Serenity in an urban environment. Featured in design blogs everywhere. It doesn't get better than this!
Designed by local designer, this house is a design fanatic's dream house. Recently featured in both Apartment Therapy and Houzz, this unit was also on display in two popular Modern Homes Tours in Austin in 2012 alone.
This listing is for Francisco's Warm Modern Home, featured in Apartment Therapy.
The house borders Cherrywood Creek, and has a patio in the back. The living room opens up completely to the patio via sliding doors. There is also a full kitchen, ready for you to use.
More luxurious and comfortable than any hotel you'll find in the area!
One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other has a full sized bed. There is alternative sleeping for two others in the spacious living room space upon request.
Excellent east side location!
The house is located in the heart of the hip Cherrywood neighborhood, and is walking distance to two coffeeshops (Thunderbird and Cherrywood Coffeehouse) and is minutes away from downtown (15 minutes driving or biking distance). Definitely one of the coolest spots in Austin. So you'll be close enough to the heart of SXSW, but far enough to have complete peace (while enjoying the creek) while you're at home.
The metro rail also runs directly behind the house- you'll hear it whizzing past the house from time to time.
Fresh local coffee and french press system
Fresh linens and towels
Record player with plenty of records
Private balcony overlooking creek
Vintage television :)
Guests have access to the whole house.
Interaction with Guests
We love to greet guests in the beginning, and are available to answer any questions.
Cherrywood is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Austin. It's an urban location, walking distance to many establishments, and only minutes from downtown, but it can feel like you're in a quiet neighborhood full of solace- essential during crazy Austin festivals like SXSW
There are bus stops within walking distance to the house. In addition
A great retreat for SXSW! The home was as photographed & lovely. Francisco was a gracious host and was kind enough to provide snacks and drinks for our stay. Only a 5-10 drive to downtown.
Perfect location, lovely accommodations, all amenities you could ever need.. Wish I could just move in! As a former and future Austin resident, I can say that those looking for a great home base (emphasis on 'home') have found it here.
Great stay! My second time staying for the f1 race, owner was v.friendly and helpful. Amazing home.
The house was the perfect house for our stay. It was beautiful, modern and kept very clean. It's conveniently located near a bunch of restaurants and a coffee shop. The house is also only a 5 to 10 minute drive to downtown Austin. I would definitely try to stay here again!
We rented the one of a kind modern for our wedding. Me and my girls got ready here and our first look photos and all that other fun stuff were all taken here. This house was PERFECT- we couldn't have picked a better location. The house looks even better than the photos and everything was so clean and beautifully modern! The house was extremely spacious and there were no problems at all when all my girls and I were running around doing hair/make up/photos! Leyla was really wonderful as well. She was always available by phone and made the whole Airbnb/wedding experience so easy.. which is so important when you have a gazillion other wedding things on your mind! My husband and I kept commenting how we wished this could be our own little home. Thank you so much for everything. The one of a kind modern was a real treat for us on our very special day :) !
Our stay was wonderful, the home is beautiful Lelya and Francisco made themselves available for any questions. We loved the area great coffee shops and restaurants. Will stay again when in Austin.
Leyla was a great host and very quick to respond to any questions we had. The place was just as attractive as in the pictures, and being that we were there the middle of August, the trees outback provided a much needed break from the sun. The house is well lit without being blasted by direct sunlight and was kept at a comfortable temperature. Its location was central enough that any destination we wanted to get to ended up being pretty close by. The value of this place was most definitely worth it when you compare any hotel in the area. Its so nice to come home to an actual HOME rather than a single room hotel with one or two beds.
I recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Austin.

I've lived in Austin for 11 years- went to the University of Texas at Austin to earn a degree in architecture, and now work as a designer of restaurants, bars and houses in town.
I love traveling, yoga, good food, and excellent design.
