This apartment is totally independent and not shared with anyone.
It is easier and faster to commute into the City from Union City than commuting from Brooklyn or Queens.
If you were to stay in the Bronx it would take you 40 min to get to Times Square. If you were to Stay in Brooklyn it would take you the same amount of time as subways in Brooklyn are not direct. If you were to stay in Manhattan you would not find a place as big as this one for this price.
The apartment is located in a safe neighborhood, close to shopping and restaurant area. The police station is located 4 blocks away.
It will take you 10 minutes to be directly in Times Square!!! in the comfort of a bus. Buses run 24/7 bus stop located a block away from 2 different location.
Pets are welcome.
I would recommend this place! There was 5 of us and we could have fit more. Nice size apartment!!! Loved the parking spot!!! The commute to NYC was very easy and great from this place. It was also a quiet neighborhood at night....which is important to us. Stay here if you are looking for a place near NYC!
The house was just as described, in an very international area. The living room and dining room area is nice as well the bedrooms and bathroom were all up to standards. The wifi was also working well.
The host was not there when we arrived but we were able to get the key as informed from the keybox, also let ourselves out on checkout day.
The location is very conveninent. Although we didnt use the 159 bus (a local mentioned it is only departing every hour no) we always walked to the post office 5 minutes away where there were little white buses for $3 departing every few minutes to go to the city. It was also very easy and convenient on the way back departing in front of the port city terminal station.
There are lots of stores nearby the place, many ethnic restaurants, also mini marts to pick up beverages, etc. The area seemed very safe even late at night.
We took a 20 minute walk down to Hamilton Park one day which gives great views of the NYC skyline.
All in all a pleasant stay.
Apartment was roomy and convenient to transportation. We were very comfortable as a family of 6. Being able to easily park our car during our visit was a great feature as well. The apartment is well equipped and maintained. Our host, Raul, was helpful and welcoming. Be aware that you will need to purchase transit on NJ transit, not a Metrocard to travel back and forth to the city this is easily done at the Port Authority. The NJ Transit buses also take cash. Transit times were as stated, usually took us 10 minutes in route. Total transit depended on how long we had to wait for the bus, easily tracked via google. No problem getting back and forth even late after a Broadway show Great experience. Fun time in the city.
The host is pretty nice. Bedrooms and washroom are clean. Highly recommended.
This 3 BR home is quite deceiving from the outside ... it's much bigger than it looks when you enter the apartment.
It was on good transport routes, which made getting to and from Manhattan very easy!
The bedrooms were good sizes, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen, dining area, lounge were all good sizes, with plenty of room to relax. The bathroom had good hot water supply for the shower, which didn't run out even though there were 5 of us showering in the mornings.
Our host, Raul, came by to meet us on our arrival, and showed us around the apartment, and he also arranged a cab to Newark Airport for us on our last day as well.
Miyoko was very prompt with communication, and provided good transport info prior to our arrival so we were able to find the apartment without any problems.
This is a great apartment, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
Overall, very good experience! Nice, clean and spatious appartement (photos are very correct) in a quit (taken into mind you're very close to NYC) and safe (Latino - loved the salsa music in the stores) neighbourhood. The bathroom can be a little to small for groups of 6 or more people. Getting into NYC is a piece of cake. Depending on traffic it can take a while when the bus comes and the trip to NYC takes 10 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Bus stops 200 meters from the frontdoor and takes you for USD3 to Port Authority, right in the heart of the city near Times Square.
We were welcomed by Blanca. She was very friendly but had to leave to work so she quickly gave us the keys. During our stay, we meeted here a few times and every time she asked if everything was allright so this was nice. So if you're looking for an affordable, spatious and clean appartment, close to NYC, you should consider this one. I have to say that, when landing in JFK with a lot of luggage it a. costs a lot when taking a cab (or I was ripped off...) and (website hidden) a lot of stress when going back to the airport by public transport. Tip: try the little white busses, drivers are a lot more friendly to tourists with luggage!
