I live in the house with my two cats. The house is about 5 minutes walk from the main square in Cusco. From here you can arrive to every touristic spot walking.
The house has 2 bedrooms, two double bedrooms and one single, living room, dining room, 1 toilet and shower, kitchen and patio, al the common areas to be of free use of the guests.
We also have internet connection, landline telephone, public transportation around the corner and taxis at the front door, market two blocks away, laundry, restaurants and grocery stores.
The house is still being decorated and furnished, with hand and self made, and recycled stuff. Anyone who feel free to help with the decoration can do it... i'll love it...
Be welcome to my house and my city...
Pros: The AirBnB is central located and you reach Plaza de la Armas within 10min. I felt save even by night getting back home. The place itself is cozy and although some traffic is rushing by it was not disturbing. During my stay Laura wasn't present and Mo her ex husband took care for the place. He was very communicative, gave me lots of tips and feedbacks regarding Peruvians ;) and assisted me with calling a taxi.
Finally this place is so cheap that the following cons aren't really worth it to complain about. But to be complete I mention them.
Contra: Wifi doesn't work and has to be fixed. If you don't like cats this place is not for you. Regarding the shower you have to decide between warm drizzling or a cold shower. Anyways on my whole trip to Peru and further to Bolivia I've just seen this system. Like all houses in this environment it doesn't have any heater but lots of blankets to keep you warm. The initial communication to Laura wasn't the best and a bit short cut.
Anyways I recommend this place and it's totally worth it's price!
Keine Heizung, einfache Einrichtung, einfache Bauweise. Das alles hat mich nicht gestört. Ich hab in ganz Peru keine Heizung gesehen. Vielleicht gibts welche in teuren Hotels. Das nur, weil sich Gäste auf dieser Seite darüber beklagt haben, dass es bei Laura keine Heizung gibt.
Ich war sehr gerne dort und der Abschied von Cusco fiel mir schwer.
Cusco Downtown Rooms is small and rather rustic, OK for a very short stay. I do believe that Laura could spruce the place up a bit and offer more before being asked. She seemed a little distracted and pre-occupied when we arrived. Younger travellers used to crashing in a squat house would appreciate the ambience.
We have been welcomed really freindly by Laura, who offered us warm tea and gave us lots of information about Cusco and surroundings. Laura speaks several languages and is a very open and friendly person.
Only deficit is the shower, which does not really want to get hot. Should you visit in Winter, take warm clothes as it will get chilly in the mornings and the evenings.
Laura is a very nice lady. Her place is located a little bit far from the centre of the town, but in a good distance where we could have a quite night.
Cusco itself is a quite cold place in this season. You should expect the low temperature if you are not good at cold weather. My friend who stayed with me was freezing, though I had no problem.
Unfortunately nothing was as advertised. There was no wifi, gas for the heater or hot water. The problem was compounded by the fact Laura was not there to fix it. We had to leave after one night as the place was too cold. However, I think these problems can be easily resolved for future guests.
Laura is in a great location.
She wasn't there when we arrived, so her friend receipt us. She was very kind, and helped us with a lot of information about Cuzco.
We were not able to use wifi, the bathroom was not clean and didnt have hot (email hidden)e place was very cold at night. We needed more blankets.
When we got there, there was an ashtray on the bed, and the blanket smelled cigars (but I think it was a previous user). However, I think these problems can be easily resolved for future guests.
Laura was a perfect host. She made me feel as comfortable as in my own home. The room is comfortable and has a nice desk for working at your computer.
Laura es una persona muy amable que hace sentir muy cómodo y bienvenido.
Recomiendo ampliamente hospedarse con Laura.
Laura is in a great location. Very close to the center, maybe about a 7 min walk where all the tourists go. She is also about a 5 min walk to cheaper, less touristy restaurants. The house is a little small but if you're looking for a good location and plan on sightseeing during the day, it's a great place. Unfortunately, she was out of town when I was there but she seemed really nice on the phone and through emails.
