The house's location and views were excellent. We really liked being outside the city in a quiet, private, residential area. It was so fun following the wash/runoff down to Oak Creek from the house and hiking back up. We also saw a pack of coyotes one night, which was awesome. However, the house is definitely showing the wear of being a rental home. Several things were either broken or on the verge of breaking (chairs, faucets, tiles, coffeemaker, etc). For the price we paid (over $5k for 5 nights), it wasn't worth the inconveniences. If you are the type who expects the best, this is probably not the place for you.
Thank you for your comments. I appreciate you taking the time to give (website hidden) helps us to improve and upgrade as necessary.
The chair , coffee maker and cracked tile have now been replaced .
Happy that you enjoyed the views and location,
All the best,
We had a wonderful stay! The villa is as beautiful as the photos. Sedona is amazing, but what made our stay so special was being in this fantastic home with views of the Red Rocks.
After a busy day in downtown Sedona, we could retreat to the peacefulness of the villa. Writing about it makes me want to go back.
Thank You Again!
This is a RAVING review of the host, views and home. We highly recommend staying at this home and don't think you could find another similar choice/experience in the area-certainly NOT in a hotel. We are hosts with over 300+ reviews and act as the maids/janitors for all of our properties, some of which are not local to us so we rely on valued assistance long distance. I note this to say that our reviews/stays may come from a different perspective than those who read this.
#1-This host, Rachel, was super helpful and tirelessly patient in working out a stay for us. We were only going to be passing thru on a grueling road trip but wanted to make the most of it. Rachel was so accommodating in every way.
#2-The views that are pictured are exactly what you will be fortunate enough to experience and we have our own pictures thanks to Rachel opening this lovely home to us weary travelers. The view is what drew us to this destination but the inside of the home was very comfortable and tastefully decorated.
#3-We had a very restful and relaxing although short stay. Just what we wished for and more. We were too cold to venture out to the outdoor hot tub but we used the Master's jetted tub. Between that and the wonderfully comfortable king in the master, we were rejuvenated for the next leg of our trip.
#4-Rachel was extremely professional and pleasant in all of our exchanges via email (we never met or spoke directly) even when addressing a few concerns which was a relief.
#5-The peace and quiet of this get away is exactly what we relished. You don't lose a thing in the way of convenience either. There were several shopping plazas off of the main drag within 15 minutes with an enormous Safeway for anything you could possibly need.
We hope to return on our many, many future travels to have more time to hike and experience more of the beauty of Rachel's home and Sedona. There is no place we'd rather stay in that beautiful town.
Thanks again Rachel for all of your efforts in assisting us in having a short but amazing stay in Sedona. It would not have been the wonderful experience without hosts like you willing to open your home. You went above and beyond!
Make no bones about it - this is a magnificent place to rent. We did so for our wedding; we had a number of friends join us from all over the world and the villa is a wonderfully magical place to entertain and soak in the magical atmosphere of Sedona, and in our case, use as a base for a trip into the Grand Canyon. On this basis, we have no hesitation in recommending a booking.
We did have some teething problems however - internet was down when we arrived at the villa & since we still had a lot of last minute arranging to do for our wedding, it caused us a phenomenal amount of stress. There is very little phone reception at the villa, so we had to drive down the road to arrange things. Whilst you might think this is somewhat a high society problem, we were told the villa came with fully working internet, so had proceeded on that basis.
This aside, it's an amazing location - and Rachel did her best to help, and be flexible, particularly in advance of our visit. Definitely worth the visit. It's a place you won't forget and we will always be grateful that we spent our first few nights as a married couple there.
The house was absolutely perfect. I can't believe how amazing the views were and how cozy everything was. The only downside was that I didn't have cell service but maybe that's a great thing. I can't wait to come back here again!
We had an amazing time! Rachel was in constant contact with us throughout the entire experience from booking to leaving. She was also very quick to take care of a housekeeping issue that arose on arrival. In addition she gave us a refund of $22 for the trouble and was completely apologetic, but with a house like this, nothing is a bother at all! We were lucky enough to get upgraded to the house from the studio after having a stressful few months of bad luck that caused us to postpone our Halloween wedding. We could not have asked for a better retreat after the craziness we had endured. The pictures honestly do not do the house justice.
The views were incredible, wildlife at the back doorstep and convenient to everything. We were speechless upon entering and just being in Sedona felt completely surreal. One morning there were coyotes at the back steps, an another day driving north a pack of javelinas crossed our path. Ravens and hummingbirds were everywhere. Even with the scary gravel road to the house, you get used to it and remember that getting back to nature is why you come here in the first place. We honestly did not want to leave and will definitely be coming back.
Unfortunately I can't leave a detailed review as I booked this house for a retreat that my boss had so I am unsure about the quality of the house, experience of check in and check out, etc...
I wasn't there and can't contribute
