Security :
Jempiring is a villa compound, and this villa is one of four villas in the 1,500㎡ site. .The number of burglarious entrances is increasing year by year in Bali, where a house built alone in rice fields tend to become a target. Besides, at the villa compound, a night security is stationed from 9PM-5AM 365 days, while five security cameras were installed in the site. Nevertheless, we recommend you use a strongbox installed in a bed room for your valuables. We try our best to make sure our customers stay safely in the villa.

Staff :
A friendly Balinese caretaker, Ketut, who lives nearby the villa will take care of anything you need. He speaks decent English. To protect your privacy, he does not stay with you 24 hours, but will come to you from his home as soon as you call him. The villa is cleaned up from 10am-noon everyday, except for the days of Balinese ceremony. In the daytime a gardener comes and works in the villa for gardening. In the night, a security man stays in a separate security house from 9pm-5am. Even thought there are many villas that change bed sheets only every 2 day, but we do it everyday.

Airport pick-up:
If you need airport pick up, we can arrange a car (Denpasar-the Villa, or vice versa) for 300,000 rupia, which is about USD 27. Please pay it to the driver directly. For any transport request, please talk to Ketut, our staff. He will help you find a good way.

Last but not least. The owner's policy is......
"We provide our customers fully with Balinese atmosphere, but with cleanliness based on Japanese standard ! "

  • A well-designed and comfortable villa. I and my friends enjoyed to spend our vacation there. This is the place can let you relax and enjoying the nature. The cleanliness of this villa is good. Yoshi and Ketut are helpful and friendly persons as they helped us a lot from booking to staying. Really appreciate Yoshi provide the handy phone for guests as we can use it to call the driver anytime. Two bathrooms are designed to have nature feel. We love it so much.

As the living room is designed in open-space concept, we felt a bit hot in the afternoon, but it turned to become cold at night.

I will definitely recommend friends to stay here.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Yoshi's villa last week. The villa was all that we had hoped - beautifully decorated, very clean, well kept and great value. The service we received was excellent from start to finish - Yoshi was very prompt with all the enquiries and booking process which impressed us. Whilst the villa is a few minutes out of Ubud this doesn't detract from it at all as the driver was extremely helpful and was available whenever we needed him. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone considering booking a place to visit Ubud.

  • WOW!

I met a college friend after a conference and we stayed at Yoshi's Ubud designer villa for six nights and they were the highlight of our trip to Bali! I highly recommend this property.

We loved the open air feeling of the villa. It was so relaxing. From the moment we slipped off our shoes, it was barefoot living at its best. We loved the outdoor showers, having our own pool to take long leisurely swims every afternoon, being so close to nature. We loved the soft jazz CD that played on arrival (and we played every night with our cocktails and dinner!). It exceeded our expectations and was the highlight of our entire time in Indonesia.

Our stay was made even more enjoyable by Ketut, the house manager who comes every day to clean and change the bed linens and answer any questions you may have regarding what to do. He is so friendly and kind and such a wonderful asset to the homestay experience. His brother in law, Nyoman, owns the Sugar Villas restaurant up the road, and with my late arrival, took me down the first night to get some dinner and a bottle of wine. We returned a couple more times for convenience.

The other asset is Agun, the driver. My friend and I arrived on separate flights and Agun was there to meet both of us and drive us to the villa. He also drove us to our next resort in Semniyak at the end of our stay. The villa comes with a mobile phone, which was very useful for calling Agun for rides into town and back. He wasn't always available, but he always sent his friend when he was unable to personally give us a ride. Its pretty much 50,000 or $5 a ride, unless we asked him to wait for us or take us further afield, in which case we just asked. It was 30,000 or about $30 for each of the airport pickups and transfers.

There is a washing machine which was very helpful for us, as we were midway through our travels and a clothes hanging rack for drying. The toilets and showers are outside - so you are sharing the space with the occasional frog, bird, or bug. The first day after our stay, when we were at the W Hotel with an amazing bath, we both agreed we actually missed our outdoor showers.

    A few recommendations:
We took a photo of the white address column at the entrance which was handy the few times we needed a taxi and Agun wasn't available. We just showed the picture on our phone.

We went to cooking school at Casa Luna and loved the course - highly recommended. We also had the most amazing driver/guide tour of Bali with Nyoman from Bali Traditional Tours (#1 on Trip Advisor Ubud) - highlight of our trip.

As an AirBnB host myself, I can say this was the best stay ever!

Thanks a lot for your positive comments, Matt! The music played in the villa is by a Bosanova singer, Lisa Ono. I am glad you liked it.
It was very nice for me to exchange information about Airbnb hosting with you. I wish you further success in your business in the U.S., and please come back to Ubud again for holiday!

  • It was the perfect villa for a week holiday in Ubud. The house is close to ricefields, has a great swimming pool and a beautiful comfy lounge overlooking the garden.
Ketut, the housekeeper is a really nice person, always smiling. Yoshi is helpul and was very responsive answering all our requests.
There are some nice restaurants, just 10 min walk from the villa. The secret garden is run by a lovely japaneese family and offers delicious japaneese meals. Made Becik warung a bit further down the road is a happy place with nice indonesian food and a nice terasse. There is also AA warung just next to the Secret Gardens, offering local and thai dishes.
Staying outside of Ubud which can be busy and noisy is a great option and Yoshi's villa is an excellent choise. Hopefully, we will be back !

  • It's a fabulous place. Our only problem is that we have been in this paradise just 3 days! It's hopeless little to enjoy such comfort, kindness cute Ketut, unity with nature, beautiful views. Yoshi gorgeous, caring host was provided all the details to his guests to feel comfortable and cozy in his house. Some design finds we use in its housing))). Villa was better than on the photo. I would definitely return there once already advised this place to my friends. I recommend!

  • This house is really nice and has all of the modern commodities. A little bit out of the town center, it's a great place to relax and calm down after a day of visiting temples and meeting some extraordinary people. The rooms are spacious and clean. The living area and the pool are just perfect.

Yoshi was a great host. His personnel is also very attentive. If I come back to Ubud, I wouldn't think twice about renting this place (website hidden) You should expect to take a cab (50k roupiah) or use a motorcycle to get to the village center.

  • Yoshi, you have a truly wonderful place. The villa is situated just on the outskirts of Ubud, so we hired scooters during our stay, although a taxi is only about 50,000 to (£2.50) into town.
Ketut welcomed us to the Villa and was on hand to help out from arranging our first Taxi to arranging our boat to Lombock.
He comes in every day to change the sheets, clean and make nice, at our convenience and on top of that he is a kind .
There is a lovely swimming pool that is cleaned every day and a very pretty garden.
Although the kitchen is small we found it fine for breakfast and simple meals but quite frankly restaurants are abundant in Ubud and super cheap and most will deliver to the Villa if you wanted a night in, watching DVD's which can be picked up for around 50p!! (Although there is already a good collection of which we have added to.....please note The Wolf of Wall Steet is the uncut version and lasted 3 hours!)

    Response from Yoshi:

Wow, you added The Wolf of Wall Street? I must go watch it.... Thanks for staying in my villa and you advise! We look forward to hosting you again!!

About
Due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster and its high uncertainties, I reached a fantastic decision to move from Tokyo to Bali with my wife and two little sons, in Dec.2011. Back in Japan as a no-nonsense Tokyo salary-man, I never dreamed to be a villa owner in Ubud, the MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE in the world, but now I am! I was born in Yokohama in 1972, studied commerce at Yokohama City University. I also studied at James Madison University in Virginia for one year, and graduate study in Stuttgart Germany. I can tell you that Bali and Germany are two extremes in many cultural aspects..... It's nice to know both. Every Sunday I play baseball in Jimbaran with the other baseball freaks on this island. No baseball no life. I am a dog lover and brought a 2 year-old female toy poodle from Japan. Local people in Ubud ask me if it's a cat or dog. It's definitely a dog, amigo. No dog no life. We lived in Ubud for 1.5 years, but recently moved to Sanur, South Bali on the beach side, due to our kids' schooling. Yes, it's nice to live near the beach, but for me Ubud remains as the best place on this island. Ubud is second to none!
