The Space

Never Blue is a fully equipped home on wheels parked in a garden. Yes, an urban homestead for you folks who are curious about collecting your own eggs from the coop or collecting a few greens from the garden...right in the heart of Old Historic Savannah..A part of the Oglethorpe vision still alive...Yes there is a train whistle on occasion and the sounds of an urban neighborhood. A place to feel you are part of something bigger than a destination. Take a neighborhood sidewalk stroll for a few blocks, feel the charm of being part of a neighborhood. Stop at the locally owned coffee shop the Bean for some java, Brighter Day, our first health food store, or stroll the wide walkways under the canopy of live oaks in the historic Forsythe Park. Keep strolling if you want exercise through beautiful park squares all the way to River Street and then perhaps take cycle cab back home. Southern folks will be waiting offering real Southern Hospitality with a taste of charm..Open the side gate, meander through the garden and open the door to Never Blue in Savannah. We'll leave the light on....

Guest Access

A spacious tree lined fenced and gated yard, garden and urban homestead property with a 600 square foot deck for relaxing under the mulberry tree or around the fire pit with host and other guest who are staying in the Digs on Duffy property shared with Never Blue. You can even stroll over to the garden and snag whatever is in season or collect food from the edible landscaping or perhaps walk over to the chicken coop and collect your fresh eggs for breakfast, get them early they go fast..

Interaction with Guests

As your host I want to assist as much as possible to assure the success of your visit. For me having you choose Never Blue is a window into another world, your world for me and my Savannah world for you. In urban homesteading and naturalist terms, a bit of cross pollination of naturalist, social and cultural exchange. This is what lured me into Air Bnb hosting. The opportunity to be more than a place to stay while traveling, which is fine if that's all you want.
I also have a outdoor adventure and expedition business( Earthrise Expeditions). I offer this service to you as my guest as another way to interact with you while visiting Savannah. I offer adventures to include sailing, kayaking, canoeing, outdoor and naturalist guided day and overnight trips to the surrounding islands, marshes and waterways. I am prepared to spend time, energy and experience as a naturalist, ecologist and outdoor adventure guide with those of you who are excited to go beyond the beauty, splendor and charm of Historic Savannah and into the naturalist world surrounding Savannah proper. I am open to co creating with you an experience long to be remembered and shared following your visits with friends and loved ones.. My pricing is open and negotiable based on needs and ability to pay. So there you have it. You can spend time with me in the charm of Historic Savannah and/or the magnificent spender and beauty of the naturalist havens surrounding Savannah. Your choice is my pleasure as your host and guide!

  • This was an awesome out of the box experience! Finding the property was a little bit difficult but otherwise no problems :) David was very responsive and friendly. We didn't get to communicate but he replied to calls/texts/emails. We had a great stay at Never Blue!

  • Well-kept camper in a nice location. Tree was quick to respond and made sure we felt at home. Definitely a unique experience. I'd stay again!

  • Never Blue was a fun and unique stay for my husband, our son, and me. The camper was comfortable and easily cooled--it was a super hot afternoon. David was very accessible and knowledgeable about the area. The urban farm atmosphere was charming, and my 2 year old son had a great time digging in the dirt and hanging out with the chickens. The camper bed was comfortable and we slept well; but be warned, there is a train that goes by quite near the property--it came around 4am, and lasted for quite a while. Otherwise, I recommend this enchanting place for a unique urban stay.

  • We didn't get to meet David personally but he was on the spot with answers to our questions and offered suggestions on places to eat and things to do in the area. We arrived to find helpful post it notes all over the RV to guide us in operating the utilities and finding the coffee/dishes/etc without having to open every cabinet. The shower was less finicky than the one at our home, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the A/C was perfect for cooling off after walking around Savannah all day. David has lots of maps and brochures to help you get around town and the surrounding areas, including nature parks and beaches. Never Blue was exactly what we were looking for space wise, the neighborhood was quiet and safe-feeling, and we just a few blocks from Forsyth Park and the historic district. We would definitely stay here again, especially with stronger bug spray to fend off Savannah super-mosquitoes.

  • Staying in Never Blue is one of those unique experiences that you just can't have at the local Holiday Inn or other generic franchised hotel. There's something to be said for staying in a locale that offers you a great location in the middle of the city, close to all of the sights you want to see (including Forsythe Park) and with the delight of having chickens roaming around. Loved it!

  • Our other potential airbnb host rejected our request last minute, but fortunately David got back to us almost immediately and saved the day/night! Never Blue was really fun, really cosy, and romantic. It was great being so close to downtown (best deal for so close, believe me we looked hard), yet the atmosphere in the backyard was very tranquil and we really felt like we were getting away from it all. Some of the other comments regarding the toilet are on point, but hey, that's what staying in a camper can be like. I don't know if there is a better solution other than an outdoor toilet. At some point during the night a massively noisy freight train went by. Fogged by deep sleep, I steeled myself for what was certainly an alien abduction of Never Blue. My boyfriend, also waking up from a deep sleep, uttered "WTF?" and he never says that. Anyways, had I known a freight train might go by (what seemed like) 6ft from my head in the dead of night I might have had less of a shock. All very funny in the end.

  • Staying in the trailer was an interesting experience that we enjoyed. The trailer came equipped with everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. Power seemed to be a little unsteady but it wasn't much of a distraction. Although we didn't meet David, he was helpful in ensuring that I was able to get into the trailer and also checked in to see how we were doing. We had a unique experience and a good stay here in Savannah.

  • David is an amazing host. Even prior to my arrival, he was very helpful and made me feel safe and welcome. Since I was travelling on my own, I had some concerns regarding safety and organization issues, but David was always available to answer my questions and erase any concerns that I had.

Never Blue perfectly matched the picture that I had in mind when I booked it. I had the best time in this little RV, privacy, everything you need from kitchen to shower and it is situated in the best neighborhood you could think of. Walking distance to the Sentient Bean (probably the best coffee shop in town) and a wonderful big park which leads right into the heart of downtown. I would stay there again and again in a heartbeat.

David was also so kind to take me out on his sailboat one day, so that I could experience the natural beauty of coastal Georgia. This trip turned out to be an adventure I will never forget and I am really thankful that David made such an effort to make this happen.

  • The RV was a fun little place to stay in the backyard of the house. I would probably not do it for more than a night or two if your are not used to caravans. The area was fine, close to a big grocery store which was very nice. We did all our sightseeing on foot, and the place wasn't too far away. Tree seemed like a really cool host, sorry we never got a chance to meet him!
