We had a lovely and much-needed break from city life; the directions supplied were perfect, the cottage is beautiful and well-stocked with kitchen utensils, books, instruments and games and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and building a fire in the evening (although bring strong insect repellent if you're planning on being outside - the mosquitoes were FIERCE!)
Our only slight disappointment was that the Country Inn mentioned in the description is closed Monday to Wednesday - worth knowing if you're considering a midweek stay as the next nearest place is 6 miles away! That said, we drove to Woodstock and had an enjoyable meal there.
A cozy and relaxing day/night in the cabin. Really enjoyable little get away space. Loved the feel of it.
It was a great experience at Tyler's cabin. We never met Tyler but he made everything straight forward and easy and clear. The cabin was very comfortable, even for three people. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porch and playing some of the eclectic instruments found inside!
My boyfriend and I loved the cabin! It was secluded and homey. It was no more than 30 mins from towns and great hiking spots. I was pleased to find there's a fire pit outside, even though it rained all week for us. Tyler was a great host, he answered all of our questions promptly, and his directions are spot on.
We are definitely going to be back, it was a great experience.
Excellent and as described. It is a cabin in the Catskill mountains. It is a lovely and quiet retreat.
Me and my girlfriend used Tyler's cabin as a base for our weekend escape into the Catskills. It was just perfect-we could bring our black lab with us, the location is smack in the middle of everything great that the Catskills have to offer such as hiking trails, great motorcycle roads, wineries, cute little towns(Woodstock is pretty close of a drive, maybe 20-30 min). It is also very private and relaxing. We made fire in the outdoor fire pit every night. The cabin is small, yet stocked with anything you might even remotely think you need-pots, pans, mocha pot, french press, all the kitchen necessities and a truckload of amazing books!Wi-fi worked great, awesome stereo to hook-up your ipod or phone to. Nice and comfortable bed, clean and updated bath. Great value to me!

About the Host, Tyler
I am a school teacher by day, teaching English Language Arts at a middle school in Queens. At night I am a musician playing at various venues around town ((website hidden)). I have lived in NYC for 5 years now and in the studio apartment for 3.
On top of teaching I am working on my Ph.D. in philosophy and spend a great deal of time reading and writing for my dissertation. I have a cabin upstate and spend a lot of weekends up there writing.
This is why I feel I can offer my apartment for temporary visitors.
When I travel I like to either stay with a family or in a hostel. Most of my time is spent out in the city soaking up the culture. I am looking for visitors who are quiet and respectful and who want a private apartment so they won't be exhausted by hostel-living or drained by the expense of a hotel.
When stay at my place you will have it all to yourself. I am a hands-off host who will provide you with what you need and then get out of your hair.
