After one full year hosting visitors to Louisville through AirBnB, we've decided to open up a second room for guests!
The "Kentucky Room" (this listing) shares a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom with our "Blue Room." Parties larger than two guests are welcome to book both rooms when available.
Our home is close to many Louisville attractions and conveniences:
- 2.4 miles to SDF airport
- 1.9 miles to historic Churchill Downs (Kentucky Derby)
- 3 miles to Downtown Louisville
- 2.8 miles to Bardstown Road (shopping and restaurants)
- 4.5 miles to the new and exciting East Market Street (also called NuLu: shopping, restaurants, art galleries)
- 0.2 miles to the bus stop
Within walking/biking distance of our home are gourmet coffee shops, hip bars, and good restaurants. We're foodies and we'll be happy to give you plenty of recommendations.
We love animals and we hope you do too! We have two friendly indoor cats, and four backyard chickens that provide us with fresh eggs daily --you are welcome to partake! During the summer, you're also welcome to share produce from our vegetable and herb gardens.
We decided to be hosts after using Airbnb to travel to Montreal, Vermont, Atlanta, and Chicago. We loved the experience of meeting new people and getting insider recommendations on places to visit and eat. Our adopted hometown of Louisville is a truly unique place, and we'd love to share all it has to offer.
Send us a message about special weekly and monthly rates. We would be happy to work something out with you.
Mark and Kristen we wonderful hosts. Unfortunately, we were just passing through on a road trip. We got there late and left early, so we never had a chance to meet. The room was comfortable and clean. The house was cool and well decorated. The kitties were fun. Check-in instructions were thorough and helpful. They were great communicators. They even had a pitcher of water waiting for us. A welcome extra after a long car ride. We hope to stay the next time we are passing through or if we ever visit Louisville for a longer period of time. I would highly recommend staying with Mark and Kristen if you ever find yourself that way.
The Urban Farmhouse was what I needed for a quick trip to Louisville. The room was as expected and as detailed in the description. Mark was very friendly as were the cats. He showed us the baby chicks crated in the basement as they were too young to endure the cold nights. The bed was comfortable and the price was right. Thank you Mark and God bless!
Can definitely recommend! Mark was really nice and helpful since it was my first visit to L'ville. The house is very cute, the room and bathroom very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I was attending the a festival downtown which was about a 30 minute bus ride or 10 minute cab ride. The bus was $1.75 and the cab averaged about $12 but you have to call cabs--they aren't just hanging around. I easily walked to the nearby coffee shop and bakery and felt very safe. All in all a really fantastic time! Thanks Mark & Kristen!
Had an excellent time staying with Mark and Kristen - they were very accommodating and responsive, even when we were late due to traffic. Their place is very comfortable and walking distance from some of the best places in Louisville. Thank you so much, we had a great time!
We had a lovely stay with Kristen & Mark. Their home is a cozy little gem and we felt very comfortable. Mark even indulged our late night rambling with ease. Too bad we were only there for one night. We'll definitely stay with them again on our next visit to Louisville.
We had a lovely experience staying at Kristen & Mark's place for a night when we stopped off in Louisville on our road trip. They were very communicative throughout the reservation, and while we knew they weren't going to be around when we arrived, they made sure we had a way to get the key. The house was just adorable! They had left glasses of water and chocolate by our bedside, which was a very hospitable touch. Bedroom and bathroom were both very comfortable, and while we had to get out the door pretty quickly in the morning, Mark gave us a great recommendation for breakfast on our way out of town (Toast on Market!). Highly recommended.
Kristen and Mark have a lovely little house! They were such gracious and helpful hosts. They let us lock up our bikes on their front porch and pointed out some great areas for biking around, eating, and relaxing. Thank you!
The most adorable house in Kentucky. A lovely neighborhood and easy to park and get around. Thanks so much for letting us stay! Hope to meet you next time around.
The bedroom and house are bright and charming, and Mark and Kristen are very welcoming hosts who were happy to chat, share a bourbon, and point you to their favorite spots in town. And if you're like me and need your daily eggs in the morning, those backyard chickens are a huge plus!
Kristen and Mark were great! We had a last minute request as we were heading home from Nashville and wanted to break up our drive home and they were very accomodating. The room and thier home was lovely and very comfortable. We enjoyed our late night chat and thier recommondations of where to enjoy an amazing cup of coffee and breakfast were top notch! They have impeccable taste! We'd love to stay here again! Thanks you guys!!!
