The Beach Batch is a semi-self contained apartment underneath our family batch (36 years in the family) located just 10 seconds walk from Lake Wakatipu in Frankton, Queenstown.
The house was built in 1947 and has been added to and well maintained all these years. You'll feel like your going on summer holidays with relatives at your favourite place to have fun.
Featuring and open plan lounge and kitchen, the apartment is cozy & feels just how a batch should. Relax on the soft leather couch while taking in the vistas of the surrounding mountains and down to the lake as far as you can see.
There is one very, very large bed room with 1 Queen size bed and a set of bunk beds. The other room has a queen bed, giving families with different age kids flexiblity in bed times.
The kitchen is small but functional with toaster, hot plate, microwave, jug & all utensils needed. A BBQ just outside is for your use as well. There is no ventilation over the cooker so we ask that you cook outside where possible.
There are plenty of food options within a 5 minute walk if you want. From fast food to very nice dinning.
The bathroom/toilet is small and consists only of a shower.
The apartment consists of board games,TV,
and a video player.
All linen is provided along with a porta cot if needed(provided on request).
Beakfast can be provided by prior arrangement. Please order when booking room.

We have a Laso Alpsa/Maltese cross dog named Harper whom might come to visit. She is very friendly and does not shed or bite. She only wants to get a pet or look for food. Harper might wander in if the door is open. She will leave if asked or told to get out.
WINTER June to September: these months are very cold in Queenstown and for a few weeks in the middle of July/early August we don't get sun on the house. It can be icy at times and getting cloths dry is an inconvenience at times but worth it!
We still have great views and awesome skiing.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Other Things to Note
Please be aware that we don't get any sun on Beach Batch in the middle of the winter and it can get cold and slippery in our driveway. The mountains are sunny! We have electric blankets and good heating so the room is warm. Drying Ski gear can be difficult overnight. We do provide a dehumidifier to help with drying.
Enjoy the Views!
Please No smoking on property or anywhere near.
Please no parties and if you are coming in late please try to be thoughtful of others in the house and neighbors.
Do not give the dog ANY food at all it will make her sick
Please use the outdoor BBQ for cooking where possible. IF your concerned about the cooking please contact us.
Cosy accommodation, nice and warm inside while the first snow of the season fell. We found the kitchen to be better equipped than expected. The bed was comfy. We surprised Paul and Leone by requiring 3 parking spaces but they were happy to make a plan for us. We enjoyed being so close to the lake as we were out for walks multiple times each day.
Overall we enjoyed staying here and we would certainly stay here again.
Lovely stay at the Beach Bach, Leone was very friendly and helpful. Lovely views and had we had spare time we could have used the kayaks which is an added bonus. Was also great to be able to wash clothes after a week of travelling as a washing machine is available, we were able to line dry clothes but had it rained Leone had kindly offered to take our washing to dry. Perfect stay in Queenstown
Thank you for such a relaxing, family friendly experience. Even the kids loved having their breakfast while enjoying the view.
The batch was better than what I expected and the location was great - close to both queenstown and the airport.
Leone was a great host, very helpful and friendly. We will be back!
We had a fabulous stay at the Beach Bach. (2 adults and 2 teenagers). I changed the booking last minute to add a additional night and glad I did. This was managed speedily and easily.
Leone welcomed us on arrival and settled us in. Much better than a hotel, all home comforts and enough space for us all. As with other reviews the view is to die for.
Day 1 we walked the lake to Queenstown which was lovely, and caught the bus back and the stop was over the road. Next 2 days we organised trips to see LOTR and Milford Sound and were picked up close-by. The local pub and shops make this a great spot if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of the town.
The girls used the canoes on the lake which they really enjoyed. We did a couple of wash loads too which Leone kindly offered to dry (sun was shining so this was not needed but a nice offer)
There was an issue with the TV and video but Paul kindly sorted this out for us quickly, giving us there own. (so we could watch the LOTR)
Paul and Leone were lovely hosts, easy to talk to and made us feel welcome.
I would recommend this location to anyone travelling to this beautiful area.
Leone was an amazing host- we arrived a few days prior to our stay with her as we were heading to do the Milford Track. We rang Leone a week before to ask if she would mind storing our 'non-Track' items for after the trip and she was more than accommodating, taking our bags early in the morning and storing them in the batch.
We arrived back very tired, dirty and hungry 4 days later to the most AMAZING batch- the views, the beds, the linen, the kayaks, the kitchen and the most powerful incredible shower ever!! Leone was so helpful, even drying our gear once we washed it which was so so generous.
We all slept so well in the peaceful batch and woke the following morning and came and went all day as it's so close to the centre of QT. The next morning after another amazing sleep, we went for an early morning kayak and then had delightful showers before heading onto Wanaka. We hadn't realised the cleaner was coming while we were on the lake and when we realised, we apologised profusely only to have Leone to make us feel so relaxed as she and the cleaner were chilling with a cup of tea!!
Overall, the best place we've stayed in QT and possibly in NZ- we will definitely be back :) Thanks!
Hostess very graciously welcomed us in to her downstairs apartment. She was very kind, helped us with our laundry and trash. She made sure we felt accommodated. A little distant from downtown Queenstown, but a great location if you have transportation or are willing to walk. Great view of the lake! Would definitely stay here again!
We love the Beach Batch very much!Leone is definitely a sweet mom.Paul is very nice and friendly. Thanks for your hospitality. We stayed there for 2nights just like our own home.I wish you like our little gift and hope that can bring good luck to your whole family. The only thing I can say is everything is perfect. The view is stunning just outside the window. We would definitely stay here if we go back NZ next time.
We love living in Queenstown as a family and like to share this place with others. Our 2 oldest have moved on to other cities and countries and only the youngest is at home.
We like kayaking, biking and watching good movies. Paul sings, Josh plays drums and Leone is learning the guitar so we love music.
Leone is a kiwi and Paul is an American whom has been here since 1988.
Leone travelled all over the world for 10 years and has seen many countries. She loves swapping travel stories.
We do have a passion for coffee and food and love to get great food recipes from our guests. So if you have one bring it!
