Beach Batch with Views of Lake

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Frankton Road, Queenstown, Otago 9300, New Zealand

The Space

The Beach Batch is a semi-self contained apartment underneath our family batch (36 years in the family) located just 10 seconds walk from Lake Wakatipu in Frankton, Queenstown.

The house was built in 1947 and has been added to and well maintained all these years. You'll feel like your going on summer holidays with relatives at your favourite place to have fun.

Featuring and open plan lounge and kitchen, the apartment is cozy & feels just how a batch should. Relax on the soft leather couch while taking in the vistas of the surrounding mountains and down to the lake as far as you can see.

There is one very, very large bed room with 2 Queen size beds and one room with a bunk bed and cot, giving families with different age kids flexiblity in bed times.

The kitchen is small but functional with toaster, hot plate, microwave, jug & all utensils needed. A BBQ just outside is for your use as well. There is no ventilation over the cooker so we ask that you cook outside where possible.

There are plenty of food options within a 5 minute walk if you want. From fast food to very nice dinning.

The bathroom/toilet is small and consists only of a shower.

The apartment consists of board games,TV, cricket set and a video player. There is also a row boat to play in.

All linen is provided along with a porta cot if needed.

Beakfast can be provided by prior arrangement.

Our aim is to make you feel comfortable and at home while you stay in Queenstown. New beds and some mod cons will make sure you enjoy your stay.

We have a Laso Alpsa/Maltese cross dog named Harper whom might come to visit. She is very friendly and does not shed or bite. She only wants to get a pet or look for food. The cat is Emmy and might wander in if the door is open.
Both will leave if asked or told to get out.

WINTER June to September: these months are very cold in Queenstown and for a few weeks in the middle of July/early August we don't get sun on the house. It can be icy at times and getting cloths dry is an inconvenience at times but worth it!
We still have great views and awesome skiing.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Check In
  • The Beach Bach is a lovely space to kick back, relax and take in the beauty of The Remarkables - something we did each morning and evening from either the breakfast table, the outdoor setting or the jetty a couple of hundred metres away.

Paul and Leone were perfect hosts, offering use of their kayaks for the lake out front and bikes for the bike track around the lake. The bike track takes you into Queenstown in one direction or Remarkables Park shopping centre 10-15 mins in the opposite direction near the airport.

Proximilty to the airport doesn't mean you hear the planes - we didn't! And the Beach Bach is snuggled down into the hill under the house, so you don't hear traffic noise at all.

The Beach Bach is a cosy, delightful little stay. Enjoy!

  • It was a pleasure staying at Paul and Leone's Beach Batch. Great location on the Queenstown Trail with beautiful views. Clean and tidy with all that we needed, and a comfortable bed. Leone was very helpful in finding us a place to stay when we needed a room for one more night in town.

  • A lovely two bedroom apartment under the owner's house with beautiful views over Lake Wakatipu. The beds were comfy, the shower and all the appliances worked and the rooms were spacious and light. Ten minutes away from Queenstown by car. Leone was friendly and helpful and made our stay a pleasant one.

  • Loved this place! Location is gorgeous, you'll enjoy it in sunshine, in rain, in cloud (yes we had all three on two days. Didn't matter one bit.) our hosts made us feel really welcome, we had everything we needed. Great spot just a short drive out of Queenstown. Heaters were SO COSY at night time. The pier/jetty was a lovely spot for yoga too :) Highly recommended.

We love living in Queenstown as a family and like to share this place with others. Our 2 oldest have moved on to other cities and countries and only the youngest is at home. We like kayaking, biking and watching good movies. Paul sings, Josh plays drums and Leone is learning the guitar so we love music. Leone is a kiwi and Paul is an American whom has been here since 1988. Leone travelled all over the world for 10 years and has seen many countries. She loves swapping travel stories. We do have a passion for coffee and food and love to get great food recipes from our guests. So if you have one bring it!
